      Experienced drivers tend to go on autopilot, for them it's instinctive to look into a turn and they might not be aware that they're doing it, maybe that's why they don't think to teach it?

  • @Shesaphantomm
    @Shesaphantomm 4 года назад +212

    Guys hear it from me, I pretty much solely learned how to drive from his videos but on the road practice with someone who can drive is very important! One of THE biggest tips that tremendously helped me was him saying a lot of driving mistakes is due to where the student is looking, you’re supposed to look everywhere but mainly where you WANT your car to go and your hands will naturally follow your eyes. When I started doing that, I improved so much on my driving. Look into the turn, not at the other cars or at the lines because that is where your car is going to drift to.
    Also I paid for driving lessons twice and those really did not help me because my instructors just let me do what I want and it’s better to practice what you’re bad at than what you already know but my driving school made me go over everything which I personally felt like was a waste of my time. I went out on the road twice with my mom to practice the things I was actually having trouble with (turns and parking) and I passed my drivers test on the first try! In total, I drove about 4 times for about 2 hours each before passing my test. Thank you to this channel and also the guy who starts his videos with “hey everyyboodyyyy!” was also helpful.

    Looking far ahead is what makes you really good at steering and positioning the car correctly on the lane. In the beginning this is a bit hard because most tend to look close on the asphalt. Once you teach yourself to look far ahead, steering and positioning the car becomes very natural ,the hands just follow and the car goes where you want to go. After a while you do not even notice the car anymore as a separate entity , it just becomes an extension of your body !

    I PASSED! I'm coming to this video to let you know because this was probably the single biggest help for me when I started to drive. Protecting my bubble and not looking in the areas were big reasons I was having trouble. Even when trying to stay in the center of a lane! Because I'd look near the hood of the car trying to keep it centered but end up just going back and forth like I was drunk. Keeping my vision in the right spots helped fix so much. Thanks for all your helpful videos! They helped fill in aspects of driving that my stepfather takes for granted and didn't really know how to teach it, you know?
    I'm still not perfect and will make mistakes but I passed my test and can relax a bit more now which will let my mind focus on the road better and continuing to learn. Thank you for all these videos and always stay safe!

    Glad I found you. I think I'm an above average driver, but then again so do most people (which makes it impossible).
    Anyhow, I was once a bike courier in a busy city. Riding through busy traffic forces you to learn where to look. I tell people that riding helped me become an aware driver.
    I also played several sports. You are the first instructor I've heard mention the benefits of these.
    I came here looking to improve and I think I will.
    Thank you

    • @ConduiteFacile
      @ConduiteFacile  6 лет назад

      Yes. Biking, video games and sports (especially team sports) help tremendously. They're all activities where you have things happening in front of you, and you react to them. I've seen a huge difference between students that do (or did) these things, and those who don't (or never did). Huge.

    Honestly, this is the best advice I've heard so far related to making turns. I'm good driving straight but have trouble with turns. I have a slight fear of driving but went thru driving school and got my permit twice. Now my permit is almost expired and I've yet to get my license. My thing is that I haven't had much practice on the road to feel confident. I play video games and sports which helps but I need hands on experience. I feel like I can incorporate what I just saw with what I've been working on. Great vid. I'll check out a few more.
