- How to Adjust Your Speed When Turning: In this video I discuss how to adjust your speed when coming into a turn, the steps: brake, release, accelerate, when to do any of those and when not to, and how you should rely on vision to adjust your speed when turning instead of your speedometer.

@@ellachamp I just had my first driving lesson with my dad and I have to admit I was pretty shocking. But as it went on I got better...i was really nervous and am still nervous/anxious after it...kinda sucks
My anxiety is a lot better. I drive daily now with little to no anxiety. There is hope.

YEMENI IMMIGRANT I thought this was for a manual transmission.... I feel like I’m watching an “A-B-C” video telling me to slow down and accelerate during a turn lol
Yeah, and it's not just how he explains with words. The video editing really makes things super clear! Like the zoom-ins on the speedometer to illustrate what he means by "quick glances". If you only say it with words, some students will interpret a quick glance as showed, and some will think "oh, ok, 2 seconds max".
Rickard Shen Yeah exactly! I’m a visual learner myself and with the quick glance edit zoom in thing and the crosshairs to show where he is aiming his vision at while driving and taking turns is what makes his videos bette than a lot of the others I’ve seen.

During my practice lesson. It annoys me coz i keep on looking speedometer. . I still say its normal for the people who are still learning how to drive. . . But the more practice will make it more better. . Goodluck
VANCOUVER BAD DRIVING HABIT it’s crazy because I know how to drive. Taught myself two years ago. But I get nervous driving with other people because they always say it’s my speed and then I end up only focusing on that
@@mariexo yeah that happens. . We are reay good driving alone without passengers. . But if we hav first time passenger. . We tend to get nervous and seems like we dont know how to drive haha. . It happens. .

wow!! this really helps me actually. my mother always told me to brake lightly before turning and then give it gas but i always end up going too fast and then braking again. break, release, accelerate. got it. thank you so much

Normal. Turning and changing lanes are usually the two biggest weaknesses with learners.

There are many driving lessons on RUclips but yours are my favorite! I feel confident I will pass my road test because of your driving lessons!
I just drove on the road for the first time the other day during my driving course and the thing you keep mentioning about looking where you WANT to go rather than whats directly in front of you (something I thought was the correct thing to do), helped me so damn much. Even when we were in the parking lot, my turns instantly became so much smoother, to the point where even my instructor was impressed how I got better without even having a car to practice with. Once my instructor told me to go to the main road, I was instantly faced with a huge 4 lane left turn, but keeping in mind what you said, I was able to make the turn very smoothly. I have my road test set for October 4th and I'm definitely going to be using your videos as my primary source of practice once I end my driving classes on Wednesday. Thanks for all the help and wish me luck!

I always brake while making my turns. This helps a lot! Will start braking before going into my turns now. Thanks for this video!

Update: I am taking classes so far in my 6th class and it’s been hard to learn to turn for me personally... my classes have all been spaced out in the weeks ahead that every time I get behind the wheel I forget some crucial things! So my instructor has now made a few changes to my last few lessons left so I may get two classes in one day. Hopefully I get this turning situation corrected. Parking was easy to learn and 3 point turn but turning gets me every time😅 will leave another message once test date come up! Pray for me yall🙏🏾

I'm currently trying to get my license and overcome my slight fear of driving all at the same time. What you mentioned in your videos will stick with me forever. You explained it perfectly! Others have had a hard time expaining and because of this video, I learned how to do nice smooth turning rather then breaking in the middle and end up going too slow or too fast because i just couldnt figure it out before

Watching your video everyday over and over is getting in my head because it’s the only way I’ll learn as a student. It’s a different experience if you’re actually on the wheel. I haven’t taken my test yet but I’m gonna take the driving practice before I take the real one in 5 weeks.
The diagram you showed at 0:31 has helped my understanding of turns more than the $1000+ worth of lessons I've taken ever have 😓
All my instructors do is point out what's wrong but dont offer explanation on how to do it differently/correctly.

Thankyou for this video. I only have 5 hours of driving experience and my dad is helping me with turning left and right at stop signs tomorrow. It’s hard in an SUV because I’ve been practicing in a small car. But I’ll try my best. I have only hit a curb one time and I have not crashed or hit anyone. So I am hopeful I will be okay.
This was very helpful. But I have trouble making the car turn smoothly after I stop at a stop sign or light.
