The whole "nice beaver" scene makes me laugh every single time I see this movie

Worst beaver shot ever, but yes.
This movie was based on a TV show called "Police Squad" by the same people. Only 6 episodes (due to American audiences not being able to cope with the intensity as they prefer to be able to pop into the kitchen to grab a snack and return not having missed anything) but it's this amount of gags compressed into 6 x 25 minute episodes. Well worth checking out.
I’ll add that Police Squad had some great celebrity guest stars, and leave it at that. 😉

Both the naked gun and airplane are great, I love them both. I see what you mean though. They’re both hilarious but the humour in The Naked Gun works with the story. Plus, Leslie Nielsen is in every scene.
You actually seemed to laugh more with this one though.
The sandpaper, vaseline, and corked bat are illegal in baseball. But Frank didn't catch it because he didn't know the rules in baseball.

This the first of the Naked Gun trilogy so it only gets sillier from here. Also check out Top Secret! (1984), Hot Shots 1 & 2, Spaceballs (1987), Robin Hood: Men in Tights (1993), and Monty Python & The Holy Grail (1975).
Useless info for ya. At 15:23, they were eating pistachios. They might be more available in the US, so dunno how well they translate, but they come in shells that break in 2 pieces. Back then, cheap ones from convenience stores used to be dusted in edible pink powder that was like Cheeto dust. That's because they will start to turn from their naturally light green to an unattractive tan/brown when they age. Companies that put out the fresher ones don't powder them.
Ahh so that's what they were. Pistachios are fairly common here but I don't ever recall seeing them dusted with powder here. Thanks for the not so useless info!
@@BasicVision I think that's a bygone thing, btw, because improving tech has made it easier to keep em all looking tan and green. From my best recollection, I don't remember seeing pink dusted ones since maybe the early 90s at latest.
At 2:18 you said "That's where the theme (came) from". More exactly, Naked Gun is a full length movie based on the non successful TV-serie "Police Squad" that share the same intro style and music, the same characters, some actors and same humor but done 6 years before the movie. I quite recommend it (specially for the ending credits parts).

The Naked Gun - Saw this at the theatre with my younger brothers. We laughed our asses off. Did see all 6 episodes of *Police Squad!* (TV series the movie was based on) so I knew what I was going to see.
Airplane! - Saw this in the theatre. Saw it and it really changed me. Was in the military. Came home for leave. Found out my girlfriend (before cellphones & internet, so communication was by United States Postal via letters), my high school sweetheart. She was living with another guy. Broke my heart (never saw her again). Went to see Cheech & Ching's Next Movie (loved Up In Smoke). It was so-so. Still down. Went to another theatre & Airplane! was about to begin. *KNEW ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT IT.* Went in and lost it when Stryker ask the guy next to him to pinch him. *I JUST LOST IT!!* That scene floored me & had a good time after that. Felt better leaving the theatre.
Since I saw both on home video (tape & DVD). Seeing them in the theatre was still better. Less distractions.
I like them both the same.
The ball player with the gun was Reggie Jackson!

Airplane! is a funnier movie, but Naked Gun is maybe more entertaining to just watch.

One of the funniest movies ever. Top five, at least.
Fun Fact: The "breasts" that remind Frank of his ex-wife are concrete reactor containment domes at San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, California.

Pretty fun movie, just enough story to balance out the gags. It's pretty weird to think that all those world leaders are long gone but the queen is still around.
Yeah man classic comedy and enjoyed your reaction…look into some Mel brooks for more slapstick. One reaction suggestion that always helps channels grow by leaps and bounds is to watch The Lord of The Rings trilogy if you haven’t seen them yet. Incredible movies…large fan base and each movie is just stellar!

Since comedy was outlawed, these classic films are all we have left. Such a shame.

Thank you! Yeah I knew there were 2 movies at first, but as I went to watch the first one the 2 sequels got recommended to me. I'll be sure to keep them in mind
I love this movie
I say, don't torment yourself trying to choose which to call "best". You get into Monty Python or Mel Brooks or the Pink Panther and you will break your scales weighing them against one another. Take it from an old guy, just enjoy them all!

You should check out the movie “Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil”, it’s really funny. If you want an old funny movie I would recommend “The Jerk”, it was Steve Martin’s first movie.
This was based on a much funnier TV series.

Oh and by the way IF you are looking for a Series to react to in between u should consider the first 2 seasons of My Name is Earl ! ..its brilliant and super funny like a late 90s comedy flick.
Season 1 is a true master piece . season 2 is very good then it drops in quality sadly or the very very good Mini series "Sleeper Cell" and "Thief" . both are 10 episodes long i think and extremely well written and scary. Or the ICONIC first season of 24 ! lol .. which really was very good despite all teh fun they made about it .
You should read the credits with these movies. They’re full of jokes.

this classic was made as a result of the show "from the files of police squad' that was canceled for being too funny, so they repurposed all the jokes from the planned season into the 3 movies.
check out Wizard of speed and time, short or movie, movie tells the story of the shorts creation in a comedic adventure masterpiece.
part of the reason this has a plot it, its a rehashing of the tv show 'Police squad' that was canceled for being too funny. id watch the movies first then the 6 eps of the show.
