- My 72x36x27 Sturdy safe was just delivered. I go over the safe details and what I did to reinforce the floor joists and building a base for the safe. RUclips videos helped me made the decision but I still had some questions. And, some of the videos were more than 10 years old and I believe some of the options we're not available back then. Hence, this half an hour long video... but I promise you won't be looking at the safe for 30 minutes.
You did a FANTASTIC job with this video. I have been looking hard for a couple of weeks to find an "upgrade" safe. I had it down to three companies but was leaning toward Sturdy. Your video re-enforced my thoughts. I was also thinking about the diamond plate option but the company pictures were not real good. Your video shows the diamond plat real well. It looks very nice; understated but elegant. I can tell you are enthusiastic about your new purchase, and I believe you have good reason to be.
OH, and I wanted to tell you that you did an AWESOME job re-enforcing your floor...WAY overkill...just like I would do!
Thank you. It feels solid. I added joists and sister them and even ordered 1/4" plates that were 9 inches wide to sister others. The steel shop even drilled the holes for the screws and electric wires.
I bought an all shelf version because I didn’t want to lose space for rifle rack. I will probably buy another sturdy safe next time as well as my collection grows! Again thanks for your time! Very informative.
The shelves are very strong, the walls are not gibson board so the shelves hold onto metal walls and the pins are metal also, not plastic. You can store ammunition on them (although in the military they told us back in the day that ammo and weapons are not to be stored together but I do).
I’m a proud Sturdy Safe owner, I have one for 9 years now and still love it. i make use of the door space by sticking bunch of 1” rare earth magnet to the steel plate to hang magazines, keys and stuffs. i made 5 pull-out drawers for pistols with pocket for 10 .556 mags in tge side. again, i love Sturdy Safe! Gratz on buy and thanks for uploading the vid.
Thanks for the reply and for sharing what to build for your pistols and magazines because I'm trying to picture my toys and wondering how I should sort them in the safe. I changed my mind every week for the last month trying to figure out where to locate them
lol, i hear ya. costed me some $$ because I called them a few times to change the design. For the pistol, I bought some soft-close drawers guide on ebay and made pullout drawers. each holds 4 full size pistols. i also lined the bottom with wood fence pickets. for extra 9mm ammo that are not already in boxes, i use a 4” pvc pipe with end caps to hold around 2k rounds. i attached 2 magnets using double sided tapes to the pipe so that it wont fall when placed standing against the metal back wall. I even added 1 more shelf to maximize the use of space. love the safe. my only regret was not getting the biggest one😂.
Great job! Thank you for your time to inform us! I bought a sturdy safe because I wanted 48x72 - it has not arrived yet but you make me feel good about my purchase!
You will be very happy. A safe is all about steel and this company knows it. The money is in the steel instead of 20 fancy choices of colors or upholstery. They keep it simple and are not ashamed their 1/2 strong welds show so they weld everywhere.
I tried to post new pictures to show the decals and how nice it looks but I can't seem to find a way of doing it. Yet, I got the same "We the People" with the flag decal I have on my pick up truck on the door, where a logo is normally displayed, and it looks super. The decal looks like painted on because is good quality, after all, they are made for exterior abuse on cars and mine are still new after years of winters and car washes.
Awesome video. For sure my next safe purchase will be a Sturdy safe.
You won't regret it, you will be very pleased.
Thank you for such an informative video, hope more to come.
