I think I read somewhere Dodge is marketing the Hornet as a vehicle for the younger generation. How is Dodge this self unaware, the younger generation does not associate Dodge with anything eco friendly. This car could be on the market for years before a Gen Z or younger, (when they attain driving age) will even know this thing exists and they still will not pick this thing.
I just took my Hornet GT Plus out to look at new motorcycles and got 3 complements at the dealership just walking in and out of the shop. The Hornet is not only good looking, its sporty, fast, the interior is premium and the Escape doesn't even compare. I have the Track Pack, Tech Pack, and the Blacktop Package in the Acapulco Gold color. And this car was worth every penny even fully loaded. This content seems more like a useless rant than anything else. LOL
@mixedbyfiatcat that's why Dodge took this guy's Demon 170 allocation and gave it to someone else. Meanwhile? RACER X, a real Mopar enthusiast and honest reviewer, not only got his Demon 170 at MSRP, he was one of the 40 selected to get the custom color option. LOL
I know someone that works for stellantis. And they said when they bought fca all they wanted was ram and jeep because its the only one that makes money. They said that they wanted to get rid of dodge and Chrysler. Now Chrysler doesn’t even have a car that they car for 2024
Yeah Barbara here in Philly I ride by everyday on way to work has those and all 4xe’s every color n same ones I seen at least a month same position ete .
The Hornet is overpriced and I see the same red Hornet setting on my local Dodge dealers lot for at least a month. Like yourself. I've never seen one on the streets around the DC area. I've priced the redesigned 2023 Ford Escape and found an attractive Small SUV that was very well equipped for under $30,000 after Ford's discounts. I like that you tell it like it is unlike a couple U-tubers that think the Hornet is the saving grace for Dodge. Its like Dodge can do no wrong. Actually they can and have with their current Dodge vehicle offerings. If they truly believe the Hornet will save Dodge. Dodge will go the way of Plymouth.
I honestly don’t mind the look. I don’t like the price for what you get. If the Hornet was pushing some serious power I wouldn’t mind buying one, but 40k+ for a “sporty” version of this vehicle without the power?! Yeeeeah I’ll pass you can get something hauling way more ass for the same price.
I don't know what you want in a vehicle , but my Hornet has everything I wanted and it was all standard equipment. Navigation, sunroof, heated & ventilated leather seats, brand name speaker system, Apple car play etc, power liftgate and the most horsepower of any other suv in it's class (268 hp) the turbo-charged 2.0 liter engine is so responsive ! We love the car !
@@steves259 I guess it’s just not meant to be appealing to customers like me. I have everything you have, but in 2020 Ram 1500 Crew cab (V8 395hp). Then again it’s not a SUV. No hate it’s just that I paid $43,000 for my truck prior to inflation. You definitely can’t get my trim level for that now it would cost you $50,000+
Very informative and funny. Dodge put no thought into the marketing of this Alfa Romeo ( Hornet ) in US. I remember Alfa Romeo’s were always a joke and the Dart was also an awful vehicle(my parents had one in the 70’s). Dodge/Chrysler always had vehicles in this size range that never sold.
It's not a Dodge platform product. It's an Alfa Tonale. You keep saying Dart, but it is not on a dodge platform. It drives & handles great. You keep saying Dart.
Stop being negative, you can say what you want about being crap, but try it before giving your opinion. No it's not a muscle car, it's not a V8, but come on man, grow up..... Dart was an excellent vehicle. I have one for 8 years now and it's still running perfectly. Don't need a fast car, need to go to point A to point B.
The biggest thing that puts me off about the Hornet is its look and stance. I don’t like the looks of the sides, the wheel arches and the rear body roof join. It just does not look like a dodge should look and it looks generic European and definitely not American. Because of its body shape, its stance is all wrong. Just looks wrong. I don’t really have a clue about how it drives or what the inside looks like. That how much I find I don’t want anything to do with it.
We have a new hornet, have no problems, had it almost 4 months have had no problems what soever, you are very biased against the hornet, it is getting 25 to 26 in the city alone I think you should more research

I'm in Michigan and I've seen about 3 or 4 driving around. All of them were base models with the small wheels. Probably corporate lease vehicles. Still don't like the look 😮
I live in Vegas, I always see new models here way before they really start selling across the nation. Like you mentioned I have yet to see a Hornet on the road. Dodge is going to hurt over this one.
I could not fit in a dart driver seat. I am not a huge guy by any means. I drove 2 dodge neon's, a Honda prelude and a Toyota Carolla. So I have had my share of small cars but the dart did not fit me at all which sucked because I wanted a rallye in the worst way. Oh well I drive a powerwagon now lol. But I fit fine in the hornet. That may be a buying block they had the driving seat of the dart was too small.
I have one as a rental right now for a week, it’s a total pile of garbage. acceleration is jerky and unpredictable, steering is all over the place and goes wherever it wants, visibility out the front is awful due to the rear view mirror being directly in your sight line, my knee is smashing into the center console, the driver seat is super uncomfortable, not enough room in the driver area and I am only 6’ 1” and 195 pounds. I wouldn’t buy this car if it was only $15,000. One of the worst cars on the road, Dodge will be bankrupt in less than 10 years
2023 Hornet GT PLUS w/track pack and Tech pack. Jeep compass vs dodge hornet? Have driven these vehicles? Compass can't even get out of its own way. TFL was testing the hornets off road capability. The hornet is not an off-road vehicle. You should compare apples to apple not apples to oranges. On the road this vehicle handles and performs like a sport hatch. I cannot attest to its reliability, it simple has not been out long enough. I do know after 1000 miles; we have had no mechanical issues for what that's worth. Now it's not perfect and there are things I don't like. Example: The camera for the emergency breaking and lane assist is too sensitive. If it's raining, to dark or there is dirt on your windshield this system does not work. The infotainment does experience intermittent lag, Similar to using an android phone. Things I do like: its quick, its nimble, It has awesome brakes, The interior materials are some of the best dodge has ever had (Thank you alfa Romeo). So, if you want a boring take your kids to school go shopping SUV and you plan on keeping basic boring transportation for years....Buy a Toyota or Honda. If want something to take your kids to school, go shopping and have fun getting there and back buy a Hornet or a Turbo charged cx5. In the end it's about the individual budget and what you need or want from a vehicle. For me its 268HP 298Lbft torque with Brembo brakes and sunroof. PS if you buy the hornet, get the track pack and ditch the tech pack.
I think your analysis is a bit off here, Dodge like all auto manufacturers have essentially thrown in the towel with their car lineup. Asking why Dodge thinks people will buy the Hornet if they weren't buying the Dart seems like a question someone who doesn't understand auto motive trends would ask. Dodge ,like everyone else,is throwing their weight behind the SUV trend in order to give consumers what they are asking for...Now do consumers wnat the Hornet,it doesn't look like they do..its too expensive and people simply dont trust Dodge to build something on par with rhe Japanese, Koreans or even GM and Ford in the small Suv market..
Well what can we expect from Dodge which decided to ditch their muscle car base & go all electric in a few years! Checked it out at Miami's auto show- the back doors wing when open is hideous & will easily hit someone in the head, way too many cons to mention, have yet to see one on the road in South Fl. also-Dodge going to have to give these away..
Good Vehicles by DODGE random order : 1: DODGE Charger 2: DODGE Challenger 3. DODGE Durango Bad vehicles by DODGE random order: 1. DODGE Charger EV, (and any EV in the future). 2. DODGE Hornet But I think this is a future of automotive...
This video is heartbreaking to me. I’ve only owned a Dodge vehicle. As a Dodge Dart daily driver, I love my dart. I was looking into the Hornet for the compact SUV and the ability to carry just a bit more and have the ability to tow. I even compared the dimensions and count that my dart is comparable is size to the Hornet, which threw me off. But despite that, I was very excited for the Hornet, but definitely have noticed incredibly few videos and reviews. The ones I find are positive about the feeling of driving it, but negative on the construction quality. It really hurts to think my Dart might be my last Dodge car.
I had a dart as my second vehicle and I would rather drive the dart then drive a hornet. Sure it may be faster than the dart but at least it looks better than the hornet with many more mods you can do with the dart. The hornet already has issues with it going off roading while the dart can do more off roading. There’s already videos of the dart holding up well off road.

@@ButterDaInsider nice! Hopefully I’ll be certified before this year is up
A car reviewer on YT went off-roading with one of these babies and when he came back, the dashboard was lite like a Christmas tree with codes.
The car wasn’t made to go off-roading. What did he expect?
@@formerlyknownashammerofthegods That pos fiat is not made for off road or on road.
I've seen one here in Dallas...and it was just odd looking lol
I just took my Hornet GT Plus out to look at new motorcycles and got 3 complements at the dealership just walking in and out of the shop. The Hornet is not only good looking, its sporty, fast, the interior is premium and the Escape doesn't even compare. I have the Track Pack, Tech Pack, and the Blacktop Package in the Acapulco Gold color. And this car was worth every penny even fully loaded. This content seems more like a useless rant than anything else. LOL
Useless rants like in this video get views. That's what is all about.
LOL
@@bigpopa1971at least he isn't an ass kisser and lying about how he really feels just to appease Dodge.
The caliber bolts are optional/extra cost.
I know someone that works for stellantis. And they said when they bought fca all they wanted was ram and jeep because its the only one that makes money. They said that they wanted to get rid of dodge and Chrysler. Now Chrysler doesn’t even have a car that they car for 2024
That's just sad.
Will this be the PT Cruiser for Dodge?
The PT Cruiser had nice looks, but atrocious MPG for a 4 banger, possibly the worst MPG for any 4 banger ever.
I’ve seen two in the road in Jersey in the last month but see more sitting on the lot not moving
I live in the DC area and have one. What did the one you saw look like. LOL
I think what they did was a smart move, because it appeals to a different class. The mid-size SUV for those that don’t want a truck that can’t even fit into your standard garage. No hate it’s just that I paid $43,000 for my truck prior to inflation. You definitely can’t get my trim level for that now it would cost you $50,000+
I don’t like ANY SUVs PERIOD!
There are far too many damn SUVs on the road today anyway. We don’t need any more SUVs!
Yeah, almost every car looks the same & has the same colors. It's so boring.
All of Chrysler and Stellantis has sales down bigtime....so how did the CEO of it make 40 million last year, where is all that money coming from???
Not surprised for a vehicle based on the Jeep Compass
IT IS NOT BASED ON THE COMPASS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is actually an Alfa Romeo Tonale with different front and rear fascias.
@@steves259 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SCCS_platform
Lol I hate the Hornet also
Stop being negative, you can say what you want about being crap, but try it before giving your opinion.
Flying off the lot at 1 per month, per dealer
Honestly, looks like a Corolla Cross with a bodykit.
We have a new hornet, have no problems, had it almost 4 months have had no problems what soever, you are very biased against the hornet, it is getting 25 to 26 in the city alone I think you should more research
Got a loaded GT Plus for my teenagers. If it weren't for Bidenomics it would be around 30k. Other than that, its a solid vehicle. Was solid at 110mph. Im sure the 2.0 Turbo Hurricane will be fun to boost.
Trump gave away $2.2 Trillion to richest corps and people in this country and added over $6 trillion in debt. How did those saved Carrier jobs work out. Yea that’s what I thought.
Looks like a Mazda from the side.
I’ve seen a couple of them on the road just a couple
The video was informative but I did get me a good 😂😂😂
I agree Journey
I don't like it either 🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮
I seen one in Detroit where I stay a blue one. I just laughed at her
a see a ton of hornets in Michigan.
Wait!! Are you saying a Hornet has to run on Premium??!! 😳. Why would I buy something that is more expensive, gets less gas mileage, and cost more to fill up?? 🤔. This makes no sense!!! That car is a piece of crap. Dodge is screwed!!
I'm in Michigan and I've seen about 3 or 4 driving around. All of them were base models with the small wheels. Probably corporate lease vehicles. Still don't like the look 😮
I’ve seen multiple in Michigan. I drive an hour to work so i see a bunch of ‘em. Me personally, I have a gold hornet with the blacktop package.
A few weeks ago I seen a hornet on the highway in NE rural Ohio
I went to look at the Hornet and they had a few to look at. I did not see a one that was below $53,000 it looks like a nice car, just not that nice.
Not gonna lie I went to test drive one last week. I ended up buying a brand new Hyundai sonata.
Saw a hornet once. Looked ok in person but I wouldn’t even want it for free.
One of the worst cars on the road, Dodge will be bankrupt in less than 10 years
The question is WHY.
Wait till they come out with a plug-in hybrid SRT.
Everyone is going eletric beacuse thr goes ate asking them to be
Is not they had a choice, if they had Dodge surely would continue to be as it is
There's a Dodge dealership in the city I live in has zero on the lot
:04 "no one really didn't ask for"... so you're saying everybody asked for it?
This what replaced the Dodge Journey ummmm I would rather have the Journey
Mazda all day long👍🏻 we love our cx5 no issues over 100k miles runs like new

3. DODGE Durango
Bad vehicles by DODGE random order:

2. DODGE Hornet

Better buy is a 😀$22 k 2024 TRAX forget all others prices are around 10k more .
Women will love and buy it!
We will see. Plenty of other options with WAY better gas mileage
Don’t listen to this guy man. I’ve had my gold one for 2 weeks now and no regrets. It’s an amazing vehicle especially with blacktop package.
@@austinkowalski5512 that’s good to hear. I was going to give it a model year or so to refine the rough spots
There was kinks with Dart when it just came out. There will be kinks with Hornet as it's brand new model. I would wait for a 2024 , if I was you.
The Hornet is the wrong car at the wrong time. Besides that, it is way too expensive. And everyone knows it is NOT a Dodge. It ‘s a freaking Alfa Romeo! Nobody wants these little crappy cars.
I seen one driving around in lenoir city tn
We'll see what y'all say after I Hellcat swap one😁
Stellantis Motors… bringing together the absolute worst of Detroit quality, French automotive engineering, and Italian automotive design so potential customers Dodge our dealerships altogether

Hey Butter, how come yours is the only review that doesn't like the Hornet ? You sound very biased.
They are going to sell them to rental fleets and single moms with bad credit. They'll also be running big discounts on them periodically. After a couple years they'll replace or discontinue the hornet
After 3-4 years they’ll discontinue Dodge brand entirely. They’ll just keep Ram and Jeep
