- If you're looking for a 3-row SUV that has a V6 engine, AWD, plenty of space, and doesn't look like a minivan, you have a couple of new choice to pick from. The 2023 Honda Pilot enters a new generation while the 2023 Hyundai Palisade receives a mid-cycle update.
Both 3-row SUVs check off the list of requirements for family vehicles but which one does it better?

Smooth video, precise, clear and simple, I like that!
I looked at both and the Pallaside has a nicer interior and more features.
Honda only going with an 8 inch screen is really disappointing. I'll swap a wired connection for 50% larger screen. For me, Palisade all the way.
I couldn't care less about the size difference of an infotainment screen. The really selling point in the 10 speed transmission vs the 8. That 8 speed is rough.
It's 9 inch screen in most Pilot trims. The base model is 7 inch.
I am not sure which country you are from though you say $ or is it Australian or Canadian?? ... Honda pilot starts at 35k Lx and Elite is 53k US...
We are quoting in Canadian currency.
Being able to remove the middle seat must be too high tech for other competitors. Surprised no one else can implement this other than Honda.
If the Honda had the palisades interior coupled with its reliability……👌👌
6'4" is average height in Canada? Holy cow!
That's so far off! The average height in Canada is 5'4"
😂
Honda still charging like its got tons of features and better design when its not... you forgot to mention the Palisade has a "blind view monitor, blue link for up to 3 yrs for free, massage front seat and pillow like headrest, and the rear mirror camera.. all that for thousand less than the Pilot... overall a better buy
problem is hyundai goes through engines faster than tires
@@okanelkin Wrong!!!!!!!!
👋👍👍👍
The Palisade is not bad looking, but I’ll go for the SUV from the company that makes good reliable cars like the Civic and the Accord.
The Palisade looks Soooo much better than the Van looking Honda!
I had a 2020 Sonata and sold it after the SECOND engine broke. How it went through two in 3 years I don’t know, but I sold it before seeing it to its fourth engine.
The Pallisade's back tail lights look good, the interior is elegant, modern and fun. The Pilot's back still looks like a minivan and the interior is boring, dull and bland.
I like them both but I take the the pilot because even on the top model you get the bench seats unlike Hyundai. 😂
Honda is always Honda. The biggest problem with Honda is that once you get tired of it, it does not give you a reason to get rid of it. I bought a 2006 Honda pilot years back with 160k on it for $4200. It just kept running. Eventually sold for $4800 , thanks to pandemic with 190k on it. Just regular maintenance and water thermostat broke which was fixed with $25. A 2006 Hyundai could do the same ??? By the way that 2006 pilot is still running for its new owner with over 200k miles on it.
So! I have a Kia 2007 with 215K and running excellent!
After all that . I still like the Palisade better!!
@@SuperFitness12 I test drove one and it is hard to get over all that technology that Palisade offers. I wish Honda would step up their game and had offered a Tesla style screen like XC90 and better driving assist system on the Pilot.
I go with the honda
Really boring vehicles!
@SuperFitness12 Don't like the front grille on HYUNDAI.
HYUNDAI and KIA are packing the convince features in vehicles.
Honda is prioritizing Driving Dynamics. I'll take the 2nd Generation of the Honda IVTM4 AWD Torque Vectorng System.
Mechanically similar to Acura Super Handling AWD. IVTM4 AWD in Honda Pilot, Ridgeline and Passport is just tuned differently.
It's been upgraded since from 1st Gen System previous 2022 Pilot has.
RUclips Driving Sports TV
ACURA SH-AWD System and Honda IVTM4 AWD System.
You will also see other current RUclips videos that say the Pilot drives better.
Savagegeese How To Fix Forgettable Suvs review 2023 Honda Pilot. They say they'd take Pilot for that.
This is were Kia and Hyundai has wowed buyer's. Driving Dynamics you can't see. More than a few reviews echo same thoughts.
People forget that Honda has Acura Division they can only go so far to not encroached on it with Honda products.
You can't have a Honda Pilot better than Acura MDX in features.
Honda over hyundai anyday
I'll take reliability (Honda)
My @$$, that Honda reliability ship sailed long time ago.
The Hyundai is suitable for ages 19~69, while the Honda is suitable for seniors over 70. You are over 70 years old.
I used to think Hyundai is not reliable, and when I bought a new Hyundai, everyone made fun of me and said I would be lucky if I reached 100k without something major goes wrong... well, let's just say the car is now 12 years old with 220k and is STILL running strong.
@@user-qg2zl2cm6jRight on!
@@ramez5881awesome vehicles!
Honda anyday
My Hyundai Santa has been broken into 2x in the past year. It’s not the kind that you can use the usb hack on. The dealers have consistently been unreliable. It took 5 months for one to give me the 2nd key that was supposed to be given to me on day one. The wheels started chipping and they had just stopped covering that but it was a known issue apparently.
If you are considering a Hyundai, I’d encourage you to strongly reconsider. I know I’m switching to a Honda.
Due to all santa-fe are built/assembled in montgomery alabama, while all palisades are built/assembled in korea.employees in korea for their own their brand cars have high quality control and obedience when they assembling their cars.this the reason why theres alot of LEMON built in alabama or when brand cars were built on US.same goes to some few lexus, benz and bmw that ars assembled in US.also, if you look at the tag of santa-fe, you will see engine and transmission are 50% china and 30% USA and only 20% korea. While all palisades engine/trans are 90% korea and 10% US.
@@jackcollin1695 well nice to know about the palisades. Still, the dealer experience is terrible and their warranty, despite being “the best” isn’t because they don’t follow through. I have just lost all faith and respect for Hyundai.
@@OKMadCat each dealerships handles differently depends on their staffs/employees. Maybe the one in your area were just one of irresponsible one or just short on staffs and mechanics.i had my palisades for 4 years now and i never take it to delearship for any maintenance eventhough i have the 3yrs free oil change, because i dont trust them when it comes to basic maintenance.they the one will look or cause for an issue in your car so they will have service for it such as replacing parts so they can make money from you.worse case scenario is they can just remove some fuses or remove some parts that will cause the issue, for you to have no choice but to let them fix it (they the one caused it in the first place). Then they just gonna put it back the same parts they remove, but you gotta pay the parts+service.this is the reason why their victims are those senior citizens, women and young adults that dont know about cars or how to do basic maintenance on their own (knowledge).
@@OKMadCat this also the reason i back out getting telluride when i found out its assembled/built/parts in alabama. Not all will be a LEMON but it will have high chance that you will get one.american employees assembling brand cars that its not their brand, quality control is less due to most of their staffs are just working for paycheck without passion and obedience compare to those koreans which its thier own brand.they will need to have high quality control in assembly because its their brand and their pride.
@@jackcollin1695my friend has a 2018 Kia niro built in Korea. All exterior emblems , roof racks , paint in certain areas are faded. That thing is built and assembled in Korea. She has got 45k miles on it. My 2015 Honda Accord is made in Alabama and still looks and shines like new after 95k miles. It is not all about assembly. If the parts are made of cheaper materials they do not last regardless of who assemble them.
Quiet mode seems pointless to me. Must be for adults sleeping in the 2nd row. When kids fall asleep on the road it doesn’t matter if the music is audible or not, if the road is smooth or bumpy. They just crash. In fact they will be singing along and then you realize you don’t hear them 😂. It just dawned on me while watching.
It depends on the person. Everyone is different. Especially consider elderly.
@@yms9829 agree. That’s why I said: Must be for adults.
@@yms9829 You're an ass if you're throwing some elderly person in the back seats! LOL! 🤣
cool hyundai - nobody
honda wins in reliability, resale value, space. And also if Kia is charging market adjustment.
Reliability of new pilot is a little more complex due to new gearbox to be exact but J series engines have good track record.
The Hyundai is suitable for ages 19~69, while the Honda is suitable for seniors over 70.
OH~! NO~!
The honda looks more elegant . the hyudai front design looks to cluttered or too busy is a weird design
