@GarageTalk I am debating hard between Honda Pilot Trailsport, and Subaru Ascent. Apart from daily commute in winter through slushy Minnesota highways, will also be making winter road trips across North American snow belts, often over unplowed country roads. Having played with both vehicles, which one would you guys recommend, with focus on snow handling, and reliability?
The pilot has done some different things with the awd on the pilot moved the front differental compared to most all awd and its made it better then most awd systems the system was already one of the best pre this
Oh my God it doesn't have gas struts on the hood ,what am I going to do so much work to pull up this metal. I despise gas struts cuz they go then you can't hold the hood up
That’s an interesting viewpoint. What you’re saying is that you will accept an inferior part for the entirety of a product’s lifecycle for the more convenient part’s expected future failure. Wouldn’t that be like saying why get a bath if you’re just going to get dirty again? Gas struts are not THAT expensive to replace, right? Lol
There is a gas strut kit available, and I plan on installing it at some point. With that said, my wife's Highlander also has a prop-rod and no gas struts. It feels to me like the Honda's hood is MUCH lighter than the Highlander's hood.@@GTGarageTalk
Lol like you ever lift the hood anyways 😂whens the last time you popped that thing 🤣 people mad like they actually know how to check transmission fluid
@@Baked_intell , I lifted my hood a couple weeks ago but my car is so dependable I rarely have to lift my hood so my gas struts don't work anymore , when I put the hood up it was windy and the hood fell and almost hit me in the head and almost caught my hands.
loss of time video! nothing informative,no real 4wd testing only blaber around same ol-``let me show you the inside``..and things it cannot do cause of ground clearence...which..``i ll not show you here``..
love this version of the pilot.
👍🏼
Would like to know how much trimming or lift is needed to go to 275s… first review I’ve seen even addressing tire clearance. Good job!
Thanks for watching.
There is a physical button for the cameras. There’s a button on the end of the windshield wiper control stock. Great video though
Ah. Nice. Thanks for sharing.
came here to say that. I use it daily to level up my parking game :)
The multi verse camera system is only available in the US, unfortunately it’s not available here in Canada…
Hopefully you can review a Honda Pilot Elite trim sometime soon pretty please!! Love ya!
I will request one.

Can’t really speak to snow, but I’d go Honda.
Lol, are you serious, witg the Subaru you will be in the shop a couple times a year.
Definitely Pilot.
@@Rocket9944 I will be leasing, and so at this time not too concerned about long term reliability, mainly concerned about snow handling.

Sport mode purpose is to hold the gears longer.
I got one last month , everything is excellent except for the engine power.
Should have gone with a 2" lift and tried to get at least 9" of ground clearance.
Or rework the bumpers…
I'm sure it was a tradeoff with better on-road manners, mpg, etc. It's not a full time off-road vehicle.
Honda knows 99 percent of people will never take this off road. They buy it for looks and big tires so they don’t get flat tires.

Sorry they can’t all be bangers.
