Thank you so much you have helped me so much while I was saving up for my crested gecko. I just got him this evening and was doing just a little extra research to help me make sure I knew how to get him to eat! I love your channel so much😊
My geckos almost 2years old and won't eat on his own always been syringe fed. I was given the wrong advice when I first got him and now no matter what he won't eat on his own. He's basically been taught to lift his head for food the problem is the bowl is obviously going to be below. Please help I need something that will work to get him to eat. If I don't feed him by syringe he won't eat and loses weight.
Thank you. I have a chahoua he was about 7 months and I never saw him eating. I was stressing out because I didn’t notice him eating but this is a big help
Hey so I watched this video and my baby still isn’t eating on his own and I have to feed him by hand. And I rly need help he wasn’t eating so I would put some on his nose and I’m worried it got on his nostrils. Update he still won’t eat by himself but good news he is eating, just not crickets.
Hi I’d love your help. I’ve had my crested gecko for 2 months now (it’s a baby) only 2 grams. She/he does seem to eat? However, it’s not went up from 2 grams since I got her 2 months ago. I tried switching from repashy to Pangea and she/he refuses to eat crickets. Please help thanks.
Hi there Rebecca, thanks for the video. I was wondering, do you have any advice or insight regarding geckos (and other lizards, I suppose) and introducing and/ or encouraging them to take live insect feeders? My Crestie is bug mad. Loves them. My Garogyle however, is very shy, pretty terrified tbh. I won’t force them on him, but I have tried multiple species, from roaches to wax worms, all of multiple sizes, with different dusts etc, with no luck. I’m wondering if some geckos are just too frightened of live feeders- I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on that. Both of my Bauer Chameleon geckos also seem wary and reluctant to try and eat their bugs (appropriately sized of course). Anyone else had this problem? I just want my animals to benefit from healthy, gutloaded feeder insects. My Crestie looks really healthy when his diet is high in insects. (I spoil my bugs, they probably have a better diet than me!) To be honest, I think he could go completely on insects. Loves em. Thanks for your time, and informative videos. A.
I have a hanging plant next to her arboreal cup .it's just one with a suction cup ...she does eat out of it but not always should I upgrade her to one with a ledge ? she's 11mo old
I hand feed my baby gargoyle everyday but idk if he’s eating on his own or not I’ve got about 3 bottle caps of food in different places in the tank but I can’t tell if any is being eaten

I recently got a baby crestie and I followed your advice to use a stick (he is small so I've been using toothpicks) and after fully licking off the end a couple times he is done eating. Is that enough food?
Victoria Foster for one session, yes. Try doing a few sessions a day, though. Sorry I am late! Trying to help, as I have feeding issues with my crestie as well. The dotting method has been working for me, as she had the smallest poop the other day!
Hi i have a leopard gecko and ive had him/her for a year and im using just a standard heating pad and i never bought a thermometer or a thermostat. his floor feels just warm not hot and he acts normal all the time and i kept delaying the thermometer, is it even worth it should i go out and spend all that or will my leo be fine? thanks anyone respond who knows plz
Zachary Quinn it is very helpful to have a thermometer. Without my thermometer and hydrometer for my cresties habitat, she wouldn’t be doing well, as my house gets really humid in spring and fall, as where I live, it starts to get rainy in those seasons
Hey, I'm the guy who commented a few videos back about asking my cousin who used to work at petco corporate about him possibly helping me getting in touch with anyone there to make a change! Well I actually just sent you a direct message on Instagram to update you on that and while doing so noticed you posting on there saying this video would go up in 10 mins so thought I should comment quickly here in the hopes you see this so you know I sent you a message over Insta!
Leopard Gecko ahhh makes sense!! Well he got back to me and gave some pretty good advice! He also gave me the email adress of the CEO and I have been thinking alot lately and trying to construct an email that includes all my problems I have with the company and their animals! My cousin suggested in order to get some pressure on the company to get the local news involved however I don't feel that would be effective since I might just seem like one person complaining.. if other people realized there were a decent amount of us who wanted a change then maybe we might have a better effect so I thought what if I started an online petition and sent that along with my email to the CEO ..?? Wanted to get your opinion on it! Also I have watched your video (I think it was titled dear petco) but wanted to know if there was anything specifically you wanted to say since then or in General! Just thought I should include you before I move forward since you kinda inspired me to do this!!
Tonypepperoni99 What an amazing opportunity! My main complaint is sourcing animals from Mills. I think stores should sponsor or showcase local adoptable animals. Some stores have adoptable rabbits but I've never seen adoptable reptiles or other small animals unless they were directly abandoned to the store. They should make an effort to help their communities and allow shelters to house their animals in stores.

I think my cresty isnt eating because he’s really thin and a bit of a runt I don’t know why he don’t touch the food I give him though he does go for the crickets but only if they’re alive and due to lock down I’ve been unable to provide the live ones so I try to hand feed him the dead/dried crickets which he ignores and the clean up crew have died out I need a few tips on how to feed and provide fo my crested

how can i tell if they really are eating because my baby crested gecko hasnt been pooing and im not sure if they have because i have cocofiber at the bottom and i havent seen any on the glass and im just nervous if he hasnt been eating
Thank you for showing me the Techniques Also I tried something different and gave her a cricket and she tore like an animal well since she is an animal I guess it’s fitting but it was awesome
My little gecko (Copper) he has a hard time catching crickets but dose not eat the Repashy. I have to hand feed him Repashy and even then he dosent really eat it. Any tips?
I set up a new tank for my leopard geckos and she seems to just be in the cool hide a lot I am not sure if it’s the new environment, because the cool hide is the only thing from her old tank, or if it’s something else. If you could help that would be great. I have a video posted on my channel of the tank if you could look at it.
Fiona Shepley ok I will look at the temperatures again. But the cool/moist hide is full of Eco earth so it can't be the warm hide. But thank you for the advice.
*ANYONE HELP!* My new, 2 year old crestie isn’t eating her Pangea mix. I haven’t seen any poop in her home. I took a chopstick and scooped some out. I offered it to her in front of her and she didn’t do anything, then turned around to try and walk on me xD I have been doing the nostril dot method and she have been licking it. We have have been doing this for a week and no improvement. Could this be because her tank is too hydrated, as her “dry” period isn’t too dry for a crestie. The temperature is perfect, but I am just a concerned gecko mum about her baby 💕 anyway, she just basically ignores her food, I don’t want her to get too skinny and come down with a disease or sickness, as she hasn’t eaten for a week. She is supposed to lay eggs next week. Could that be a cause also of her not eating? Thanks for reading!!!
Hey I recently got my wife a Crestie and he was 22grams but since having him he’s not eaten much at all and yesterday I weighted him and he’s now only 17grams. I’ve purchased £50 worth of different CGD like Pangea and repashy and he just seems very disinterested
i just got a crested gecko 3 days ago and it’s around 2 months old and it will not eat anything in the enclosure the only time it eats is when i put the food on its mouth and it lickd it off and even then it’s not interested at all
Hey I’m getting my crested gecko this weekend got everything set up I just don’t know how you give it calcium I have it but how do I give it them and is it everyday or I leave it in there or I take out or what?
The place I got my Crestie at today I noticed they offered them a lot of crickets where as I want to feed it Repashy with some crickets here and there. I think it is used to the crickets and will not eat the Repashy.... what do I do??
I know this video is about feeding but I have a question about terrarium size. I want to get a crested gecko as a pet but I want to buy the terrarium first and set it up as bio active, let the plants grow a couple months then buy the gecko. I want to buy the Exo Terra 90x45x90 but most channels and sites claim this is too big for a single gecko. It just doesn’t make sense to me considering it will be half filled with substrate and plants not too mention how much space they have in the wild. Anyhow I would appreciate your advice. Im new to your channel but have been watching your videos a couple of weeks.
my pet store only had Nature Zone Bites and its a bunch of square chunks. my gecko is a bady and im scared that the chunks are too big and that he wont “chew” it bc i always see people use smoothies. what do you recommend i do :(?
I just got my crested gecko April 14th from Repticon, and she hasn’t eaten since then. She’s 3 I think and I got her to lick a little bit off a stick the first night (Sunday night) and she hasn’t eaten since. I’m not sure what to do and when should I be concerned? I spray her tank twice a day and she has a water dish so she has water. Also where can I get a good scale to weigh her?
Ok i got mine thoursday of last week and ive tried to feed he ate 1 cricket dusted with calcium ive tried to feed him the reaguler rapashy and he like shuves away i hope he likes the pangea food if not idk what to do need help?
My gecko used to eat off a stick but then she started striking at it and holding onto it, like it was a cricket. Any suggestions? She’s a bit bug crazy right now.
Hi I'm new to your channel and i'm planning to get a new leopard gecko. Can you do a video on how to setup a leopard gecko habitat but with the enclosure made of wood that you use for your lg. The ones that i've been seeing all use glass tanks and i also want a wooden enclosure for my lg. Thank you
This isn’t related to this video, but I have a eyelash crestie (about 5-6 months, it’s still pretty small) with a piece of shed stuck in the front part of its eyelashes. It’s been there for quite a while now (about 4-5 weeks) I’m really worried, I don’t know how to get if off without hurting the gecko, what should I do?
Hi guys! I am trying to figure out the best way to assist feed my cresty liquid medicine. If any of you guys have any ideas or tips that would be great! I’ve been looking for a video on that everywhere. 🙂
Mine is much smaller and won't sit still like that. If I just let him sit without holding him he'll take off and one time I couldn't find him for three days so don't want to take that chance again but he definitely will not eat on his own. Do u have any recommendations for that? Also.. If I just stick something in his face in his encloser he'll just run away lol he's a hard one
i just got my first baby crested gecko 2 months ago (the crestie is 2 months and a week or two old) and i was trying to train him to eat out of his food bowl, but we had to take it out because it kept falling and i was afraid it was going to crush him, so we are going to get a better one and i now know how to train him :D
My mom freaks out when I hand feed Dally (my crestie) and says hell become "an addict to hand feeding" and she screams at me for it. I took your advice about sticking the food by their nose and it slightly worked. He licked some off my finger and squeaked so I let him be.
Ok so I’m sorry, I’m going off topic! But this is important! So my dog (yorkie) sleeps in my room, and so does my gecko... and my dog keeps freaking out when Luna comes out of her hide. Yes, she’s in her enclosure. My dog also scratches my gecko’s tank. I stop him when he does it, but he still does it later on... what should I do? I want my gecko to feel safe...
Desi Sill Either place the geckos tank out of reach (its a yorkie, can't be too hard), lock the dog out of the room at night or cover the geckos tank when you go to sleep so the dog can't see the Gecko when it comes out.
Can u do this to a baby gecko i have one normal 2 one died 2 days ago but anyway does this work on baby gecko sorry for bad english im from Belgium dutch
Hey. I just got a juvenile and I’m wondering how many crickets to feed her a day. She eats around five. Also she poops in her food bowl. Is that alright?
yeah about 5-8, check out my *feeding and supplementing schedule* video and that sort of tells you how often to feed them. Nah not too healthy to be pooping and eating in the same place, so best to thoroughly clean the food bowl and move it to a different place.
So I got my leopard gecko 9 weeks ago she sheds quite often usually every 3 weeks does this mean she’s growing also her back leg twitches so we got her larger crickets so we could get more calcium on each cricket because I thought it was calcium deficiency but It has been there for about 3 weeks now any suggestions about how I can make her twitching in her leg go away
So I know there is a video on handling and when to start handling your pets, and that time slot was about 2-3 Days, but was wondering if it would be a good indicator to start after you notice them exploring quite a bit?
Hi leopard gecko me aga okjn you can remember me as kyleigh (kylie) or kyky i dont care um i got my gecko yesterday her name is iris. I jave been feeding her live small crickets and since they are alive they wont go in the calcium powder, so i am worried she doesnt have enough or any calcuim so what should i do!!!
Just put a little powder in a bag, put a cricket in it, and shake until the cricket is covered. Dust with calcium every other feeding and vitamins every three feedings (only one with d3) :)
Any tips for me? We have a +1yeard old crestie who did eat pangea in start. Tried like 3-4 different ones to get him started bec. we thought he got tired of the food after a while. Then efter almost a year he didnt eat for like 2-3 weeks and went pretty skinny so we panicked and ordered some dubia. Now shit happened, he went into a hunting dinosaur. In the start he did get like 3-4 of em / week combined with fresh CGD every day. I always dipp em in pangea first and feeded em with a bamboostick like you do. But now he don't want any other food other then dubia at all. Atm I have 8 kinds of CGD but he reject em all (turns the head and walks away) sometimes he attack (guess when he's very hungry) the stick and gets some food but this only happens once in a while. We also tried most fresh fruit like: pear, peach, mango, banana (with kalcium on) rasberries, etc but he doesnt like any of it. Atm he only get a dubia if he eat some CGD first.. and thats like 2 times / week max. We only handled him once and after that he stayed hidded for a week so I dont want to take him out again. So any tips how to make him eat the CGD again?
Hudson 33. I have the same issue. If you are trying to feed it, try the dotting method on the nostrils if you are concerned about its eating. For me, the dotting method relieves some of the stress I feel if my girl isn’t eating.
Hey I have my gecko in a expo 18by 24 by 24 expo terra and his tree years old and when I got him he was nice and fat and naw he won’t eat his food and he got really skinny what should I do?
Have you read the Arcadia books about reptile and amphibian nutrition and other topics? They are so incredibly informative. I highly recommend them and would love to send you a copy if you don't already have one.
Oh I must have missed those. Yay that means I've got more videos of yours to watch! My favorite free time activity. Not only are they incredibly informative and educational, your voice is so soothing that I feel less stressed after watching each one. Keep up the amazing work!
Hey I just seen your video. Do you always have to hand feed your crested geckos? Seems like my two cresties don't eat unless I hand feed them and they will definitely eat gut loaded cricket's
What camera and lens do you use to film? Your black looked so black, I always get so much noise in my black even though I have a 1080p camera.... And Lyra was extra cute! Such a chunky little love, she's come so far from when you first got her.
I use a canon g7x mark ii (i think - i can't remember exactly) but it does bug me a bit as it adjusts its brightness depending on whats on the screen, there's probably a setting I need to change somewhere. Thank you yeah shes a curvy lady :)
Have you ever made a video about the costs or your budget for your leopard gecko. I am thinking about buying one and I never have any experience with reptiles. I like to have a different animal than you would normally choose. Have you already made a video about that, or not. I hope you will respond and if not I will search myself. Keep making videos!
There's a video thats a little old now that i made called '10 things to buy for a leopard gecko', but pricing varies so much depending on what sort of enclosure you're buying, where you're buying it, your currency etc, so its difficult to narrow it down in a video, even the geckos themselves really vary in price lol
I’ve done every thing u said in this video but I still can’t get my crested gecko to eat I got her 2 days ago and she’s 2 months old I’m feeding her repashy crested gecko mrp classic
Hey! Just discovered your channel, and I had a question since you soon to be the gecko queen. Is there a type of gecko that would do well in a temperate rainforesty paludarium? I really want to house fish and some type of land animal in the same tank
Okay so I know i'm kinda late to this video but I hope someone finds a solution. My crested gecko is about 2 months old. When I try to take him/her (not sure yet) out of the cage it jumps away when I bring my hand close to it. I've tried giving it a warning by make a clicking noise with my tongue and carefully putting my finger in front of its eyes but it still gets scared and jumps away when I try to touch/pick it up. I adopted the gecko when it was about 1 month old. I don't know how to make it less scared so please help! Also it is eating fine and climbing around fine.
Hey Im getting Leopard gecko and I have everything I need but I don't have calcium and vitamin d3 and my question is. Is it good to buy Exo Terra calcium+d3 vitamin or should I get something else?
i have a gargoyle gecko, and he eats a little bit when i feed him but he’s gotten so thin. i can see a little bit of his ribcage and i’m so worried :( i don’t want to have to feed him myself every time
Holy fuck my gecko dident eat for 3 days as soon as I put it on it’s nose he went monster mode on the stick and started licking the outside of bowl thank you so much u earned a sub
It's cool how chill she is on your arm while you're talking.
I don't even have a crested gecko. I have a leopard gecko. I only clicked on this because I saw the cute little gecko and I watch all your videos.😂
Lol
Is it still alive?
I got my first snake on Sunday:) a baby hognose. I have 4 cresties too your channel has helped so much :)
aw how cute!! :)

Please put the moist hide on the warm side, on the cold side it can cause respiratory infection!

She’s probably ovulating (don’t worry, the eggs won’t be fertile). Other than the moist hide location, the setup looks great!

Thanks so much my cresties wont eat on their own:(. Hope this helps
Have you considered looking into giant day or gargoyle geckos?
my pet store only had Nature Zone Bites and its a bunch of square chunks. my gecko is a bady and im scared that the chunks are too big and that he wont “chew” it bc i always see people use smoothies. what do you recommend i do :(?
YES! Thank you, Ill need to try your methods. My Bfs gecko doesn't like it eat much on his own.
Helped so much! Thank you so so much!
How do you weigh them?
I just got my crested gecko April 14th from Repticon, and she hasn’t eaten since then. She’s 3 I think and I got her to lick a little bit off a stick the first night (Sunday night) and she hasn’t eaten since. I’m not sure what to do and when should I be concerned? I spray her tank twice a day and she has a water dish so she has water. Also where can I get a good scale to weigh her?
How is she doing now ?
Thank you
You put the heat mat inside
This isn’t related to this video, but I have a eyelash crestie (about 5-6 months, it’s still pretty small) with a piece of shed stuck in the front part of its eyelashes. It’s been there for quite a while now (about 4-5 weeks) I’m really worried, I don’t know how to get if off without hurting the gecko, what should I do?
Hi guys! I am trying to figure out the best way to assist feed my cresty liquid medicine. If any of you guys have any ideas or tips that would be great! I’ve been looking for a video on that everywhere. 🙂
Throw it in with the Pangea/Repashy!
I was just watching another of your videos I love them so much 💗💗
aww thanks so much :)
Mine is much smaller and won't sit still like that. If I just let him sit without holding him he'll take off and one time I couldn't find him for three days so don't want to take that chance again but he definitely will not eat on his own. Do u have any recommendations for that? Also.. If I just stick something in his face in his encloser he'll just run away lol he's a hard one
ive always loved crested geckos and love all your vids
aw thank you :D
i just got my first baby crested gecko 2 months ago (the crestie is 2 months and a week or two old) and i was trying to train him to eat out of his food bowl, but we had to take it out because it kept falling and i was afraid it was going to crush him, so we are going to get a better one and i now know how to train him :D
nvm we got a second
My mom freaks out when I hand feed Dally (my crestie) and says hell become "an addict to hand feeding" and she screams at me for it. I took your advice about sticking the food by their nose and it slightly worked. He licked some off my finger and squeaked so I let him be.
Thanks sm I was so close to giving up but then I had to look for another way I thought he needed to be freed and he was sad
A lil late, but what do I do I tried all of this and when I try to get it to eat of the stick, it avoids it?
Thanks soooo much just got mine and it’s not eating this has helped so much
Ok so I’m sorry, I’m going off topic!
Sheeps Wool thanks!
My Dalmatian crested gecko likes to hang on my finger with it’s tail is this ok?
Can u do this to a baby gecko i have one normal 2 one died 2 days ago but anyway does this work on baby gecko sorry for bad english im from Belgium dutch
Hey. I just got a juvenile and I’m wondering how many crickets to feed her a day. She eats around five. Also she poops in her food bowl. Is that alright?
yeah about 5-8, check out my *feeding and supplementing schedule* video and that sort of tells you how often to feed them. Nah not too healthy to be pooping and eating in the same place, so best to thoroughly clean the food bowl and move it to a different place.
Leopard Gecko ok thanks
So I got my leopard gecko 9 weeks ago she sheds quite often usually every 3 weeks does this mean she’s growing also her back leg twitches so we got her larger crickets so we could get more calcium on each cricket because I thought it was calcium deficiency but It has been there for about 3 weeks now any suggestions about how I can make her twitching in her leg go away
Make sure the crickets are no wider than the space between her eyes. Does she get multivitamins? I recommend a UVB light instead of artificial d3 :)
When you go on vacation, how do you make sure your gecko is doing good.
I did a whole video on this not too long ago lol
Thanks for this video, i will start weighing my gecko weekly. As of now my gecko is around 1 year and 2 months and is 10 grams
Fiona Shepley thanks so much im having major brain farts today so thank you
Just got my first gecko! How he’s 15grams how often do I offer food?
If it is a hatchling or young, usually 3 times a week.
How could I do this for an insectivore aka tokay gecko?
So any tips how to make him eat the CGD again?
yeah anytime i try to get my gecko to face towards my hand it stays faced towards my shoulder
I’d take him to the vet
Fiona Shepley I toke him to my work and we have a reptile vet on hand..
It was his food he didn’t like naw he’s eating..
I got my crested gecko on 25th november 2024 it was 22g it's now 25g and had its 1st shed wile having him is that good it's now 19th Dec 2024
How ofted do you have to feed them?
Have you read the Arcadia books about reptile and amphibian nutrition and other topics? They are so incredibly informative. I highly recommend them and would love to send you a copy if you don't already have one.
yes i actually did a review on all 3 books, they're fantastic :)
Oh I must have missed those. Yay that means I've got more videos of yours to watch! My favorite free time activity. Not only are they incredibly informative and educational, your voice is so soothing that I feel less stressed after watching each one. Keep up the amazing work!
How much should a 3 month old crested gecko weigh?
Ah I needed this
I have a baby who is on rapashy I do heat and spray him but I found he won’t eat a lot he can get to his lege fine
Leopard Gecko Thanks! And what lens do you use?
Have you ever made a video about the costs or your budget for your leopard gecko. I am thinking about buying one and I never have any experience with reptiles. I like to have a different animal than you would normally choose. Have you already made a video about that, or not. I hope you will respond and if not I will search myself. Keep making videos!
There's a video thats a little old now that i made called '10 things to buy for a leopard gecko', but pricing varies so much depending on what sort of enclosure you're buying, where you're buying it, your currency etc, so its difficult to narrow it down in a video, even the geckos themselves really vary in price lol
thank you!
I’ve done every thing u said in this video but I still can’t get my crested gecko to eat I got her 2 days ago and she’s 2 months old I’m feeding her repashy crested gecko mrp classic
Does it work on juvies?
Hey one of my leopard geckos eyes has been sealed shut for days I don't see anything around the eye what should I do?
Jaden Blondin Take it to a vet.
Hey! Just discovered your channel, and I had a question since you soon to be the gecko queen. Is there a type of gecko that would do well in a temperate rainforesty paludarium? I really want to house fish and some type of land animal in the same tank
Maybe not the best idea, the gecko could drown or try to eat the fish.
You could do a caiman lizard!
I need to try this cause my crested gecko seems to only eat on its own once and a while mostly eats it in the stick
hope the video helps :) haha
Hey Im getting Leopard gecko and I have everything I need but I don't have calcium and vitamin d3 and my question is. Is it good to buy Exo Terra calcium+d3 vitamin or should I get something else?
Yep. You need multivitamins as well. Dust with calcium every other feeding and vitamins every three feedings. No supplements in the tank :)
check out my *feeding and supplementing schedule* video :)
Leopard Gecko Thank you so much. Great videos!
I wouldn’t dust them that frequently, they really don’t need that much!
I hold the cup under her chin n she eats ..but she does go to her ledge to eat too
i have a gargoyle gecko, and he eats a little bit when i feed him but he’s gotten so thin. i can see a little bit of his ribcage and i’m so worried :( i don’t want to have to feed him myself every time
i got him on november 10th
and he’s so flighty when i try to hold him. he just wants to jump around but i need him to eat :( i don’t know what to do
Thank you this helped so much!!!
Thanks this was super helpful
This is exactly what I do !! I just use the non sharp end of a toothpick
Very informative thank you
Can leopard geckos eat white crickets because my crickets are turning white for some reason is this ok
Yep, they’re just molting
yeah they just shed their exo skeleton so they go white at first, and then they get back to their usual colour. Totally fine, totally safe :)
Holy fuck my gecko dident eat for 3 days as soon as I put it on it’s nose he went monster mode on the stick and started licking the outside of bowl thank you so much u earned a sub
