What you said about them running very fast when they go on the floor, I can confirm! A while ago I got a baby crested gecko and I held him one time in the evening and he jumped off my hand, sprinted under my bed and started climbing up one of the legs of the bed frame at the back 😳 I was so scared I was going to lose him but in the end it was fine. I have only handled mine in the daytime since, because he’s much slower/sleepier, but still faster than Lyra lol.

Your bioactive tank stories and feeding made me set up the finest bio tank for a young cresty. She's very skittish but loves her house. I have got a bit obsessed with breeding isopods and it's kinda taken over the room! I cant seem to get her to take any live food (unless she nom's an isopod which is quite likely). I keep crickets to hand, but they so far haven't become her dinner and get too huge after a few weeks. If we werent in lockdown, Id give them away!

She must eat something, otherwise she wouldnt now be 17g, up from 15g when I got her early this month.

Hey there thanks for another video!!
Could you or someone help me out with a feeding question?
I provide live insects every now and then but I’m curious how many do I offer in one sitting?, until they don’t eat them? Or just stick to a few every time,
    Thanks for your help!!

Can you please do a video on the monthly costs of a crested gecko I really want one I love reptiles and my mom won’t let me get anything that eats bugs and bugs only (I know that’s they do eat bugs but they also eat the repashy stuff) I think she will only let me get one if I pay for it myself witch I think I can do but it depends on how much it costs

    • @kholeengine

Ah, crested geckos get crickets as snacks only! Like, hm, once a week? They eat commercial food, I'd say Pangea or I use Zoomed. They also eat fruit, like Bananas, Apricots, and peaches. Get them mushed up, its only used as a treat.

I have a question: Do crested geckos usually lose their tails? I was thinking about getting one but I have heard many stories of them losing their tails. Do they do it often?

    • @BearkyUSA

Yes they do, in the wild 99% of them lost their tail, they lose the tails If they are spooked, and sometimes they just feel like it. They dont grow back. I am also getting crested geckos.

I’ve had my crested gecko for about a month now and she’s amazing and seems to be doing well (pooping, moving, eating) but she isn’t very active. I don’t know if it counts as lethargic because she still moves and can go quite quickly at some times but generally she’s quite… timid? She seems scared of jumping for the most part, and she walks in slow motion as if she’s a big cat stalking prey. I don’t know if it’s a health issue, a personality thing (she’s apparently always been very calm) or just because she’s still adjusting to her environment. But I hope she’s okay. It’s hard to know if she’s lethargic when there aren’t a lot of demonstrations out there showing what lethargy looks like.

A great natural way to clean water marks off of glass if you dont want to use cleaner is mature water and newspaper! Use the newspaper like a wipe. (Mature water is water left for a day which you should use for everything. Do not use tap water for an animal)

I'm definitely not a professional, but from what I've heard, sometimes they are just dehydrated and need something to drink. Have they looked up anything so far? And what food products and items do they offer? When I got mine for the first time, it didn't really take any of the powder mixes, so I mainly gave it crickets (if it took them) with a tiny bit of the powder on it. And, I guess, if things don't get better, contact a vet. (This is from personal experience and might not work with your friend's gecko, but good luck)

Please i need some insight...... i own 3 2 adults one baby leapord geckos. All male im pretty sure thought they may have been female but just wouldn’t be possible because they’ve been in the same tank for a 9 months according to my sister wich she has given them to me and I’ve already improved their lives. Since they’ve been fine together all this time. I upgraded them to a 20 gall all i could afford from a 10 gallon. But I seemingly cant get the baby to eat anything. The adults have been good even the first day i had them they ate but i have yet to see the baby eat anything, ive come up with an idea to put a devider in the tank to keep the food separate from the other too so he has a chance to actually eat something. Ive also got him to lick some calcium off my finger, he hasnt had any due to my sisters lack of knowledge on these lizards. Hopefully with him devided with his food he’ll at some point have to eat something. As of right now he jyst keeps climbing up the glass. And i have heating pads on both sides an he also has a hide. Please anyone any tips comments would be appreciated!

Have a look at some of the playlists on the channel. They contain lots of information. Make sure to do as much research as you can from various sources. Bioactive is the best bet for good results. My equipment is as follows:
Substrate: Arcadia Earth Mix Arid with dried moss and leaf litter added
Heating: Arcadia Deep Heat Projector controlled by a Habistat Dimming Thermostat
      UV: Arcadia Shade dweller
      Plants: Haworthia and Air Plant
Clean up crew: springtails, tropical grey and giant orange woodlice (soon). I also have mealworms in there but they can be destructive so I wouldn't recommend them, but mine haven't done anything yet.
Hides are made from rocks from a local garden centre (make sure to disinfect them by either baking or some sort of reptile safe disinfectant).

Katie Bean Oh, my gecko is doing pretty good. Basically i was trying to play with my gecko (i now know that was not a good idea, she was just moved to a bigger terranium and probably stressed enough) so i tried to reach into the terranium. When i open the door, there's a good sized gap. She tried to run through the gap and i panicked.. and closed the door. I immediately opened it and she fell to the ground of her terranium :(. I was crying and i didn't know if she was going to live to the next day. She pulled through though. We took her to the vet and found out that she needed a light and her spine probably wouldn't have gotten damaged if she had a light (no calcium). We got her a light tho. ahh that was long. Oh and thank you for the advice!
