Please keep watching as the video doesn't finish when expected :) We really enjoyed this one and I hope you do too. As always, I really appreciate and look forward to your comments.
Hey Simon sorry to be nosy just hoping that on okay ,as you've not been on here for a couple of months . miss your videos as I think your one of the best on here
Beautifully produced and a joy to watch. The resulting photos are great too. And surely watching Meg bouncing around and returning for loves and cuddles would warm anyones heart.
Thank you for talking about the struggle of photographing snow. I have found it a real problem. Your idea to circle what you want to photograph is a great idea.
Another delightful video. As you say perseverance does pay dividends, in this case with some super images as well as a great time with, what is possibly, the happiest dog on the planet. Both results are worthwhile on their own but together are memorable.
I'm glad I watched until the end -- all so quiet and peaceful. And the monotone colouring of your images emphasises the cold and stillness of a winter's day. Cheers.
The first segment of this video was very informative and extremely beautiful. I appreciated the talk about having to crop the branches from a tree that wasn't included as this is something I struggle with in my work. I was drawn into the next day's segment immediately by the stillness of the snow covered branches and the music which accompanied, so surreal. It was a truly magical capture! As always just brilliant.
This might be your best video yet, or at least very near the top of the list! I loved seeing Meg have so much fun and the images are inspiring, thanks, Simon.
I love the solitude of your journey into photography and it really reflects remarkably well in your photos. Great work, oh and your companionship with your dog balances it out quite well too.
Thank you for a lovely new year's gift Simon. This was a sublime serene monochromatic visual experience. I loved your links on camera with the snow gently showering down. Bliss! And of course the snow ball scene with Meg was a delight!
Absolutely stunning photographs of the scenes in this video, you can actually feel and hear the silence of the snowy atmosphere in your images. Love the way you explore and explain your views. Inspirational stuff!!
Who knew Yorkshire could be so beautiful? Thank you for another great video, splendid to see Meg playing, the fountain pen and journal........great touch!
Wow, what a way to start off the new year. Stunning images and a great vlog and as always what joy to see Meg having fun. Thank you for sharing Simon and really looking forward to next exciting adventure.
Simon, I know this is not exactly a photography response but I live in a place that really does not have winter. I must say it baffles me that your pup can handle the snow and water. I guess all that energy she has must help keep warm. Thanks for the winter scenes. One day I hope to see and photograph it.
Thank you Simon (and Meg!) for motivating me to get out more with my camera no matter the weather. I am determined to turn my bad habit of shooting mainly on vacation into an exploration of the (way to cultivated? prejudice, prejudice) German Odenwald which begins just at my doorstep. By February I should have my first clumsy vlog on this. I also like your trailcam footage - when I am not shooting landsape, I am filming wildlife - believe me, a trailcam, while being a totally different experience, is much more convenient. ;) I am looking forward to experiencing Yorkshire spring with Meg and you - keep up the fascinating work! - But first I will enjoy the snow - too warm for that around here, unfortunately.
Simon, what a fantastic video. In terms of setting up and executing each sequence, the amount of effort and passion you put in is obvious. I loved the photos as well!
Thanks for another great video, Simon! I finally joined your mailing list, and am hoping to book one of your workshops if I can make it over to England and Scotland later this year (I grew up in London, but now live in the US). I'll be in touch as soon as our travel plans become clearer. Keep up the great work, and Happy New Year!
Lovely episode, this. I know it's a year back, but I've only just discovered it. I miss North Yorkshire, and this made me happy watching. I like the way you've used music, especially.
Well what a start to 2018! If this excellent video journal (its too good to call a vlog) is anything to go by your viewers are in for a treat this year! Beautiful work Simon, the quality of the footage, b-roll, narrative and music are all out of the top drawer and the images you included are superb. I don’t quite understand those who gave this a thumbs down, I guess there are those who wouldn’t recognise quality if you slapped them in the face with it!😳 It’s always wonderful to see Meg enjoying herself so much, you can’t help but smile watching her antics, what an engine she has mate! Take care and stay safe.🍀👌
I don't think I've watched one of your videos where I wasn't inspired and impressed by your simplistic approach and impressive results. Your photography is excellent and I appreciate your willingness to share your journeys with those of us who watch. Thank you
Love your videos Simon especially your skills with drone, that transition from drone going in to the cloud to one of the shots you took was a thing of beauty!
There were some really wonderful images in your video. Loved specially the first lonely Pine tree and the one like a pathway in the wood (#3 from the end)
Absolutely gorgeous! All of it. Since I can’t afford the a7r iii right now I was thinking of getting the a7 ii instead. I saw the camera on here and thought it was a Sony. I decided to look at the information you’ve included in the description and see that you really enjoyed the a7 ii. That is endorsement enough for me. Currently using a6000 and time for an upgrade! Thanks for the inspiring gorgeous video!
Hi Simon, I like your high quality videos very much. Not only from a photographers view it is always great fun to watch your energetic dog rumping. Guido
Thank you for sharing the peace and beauty of a lovely winter day. The photos are a bonus but the real treasure is being immersed in all that natural beauty. Your videos capture the feeling of the natural surroundings so brilliantly. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks to Thomas, i now know your channel and it seems both of you love the word "gorgeous". *smile* Here in Germany we can vary a lot with words with same meaning. Hehe. (-: Thanks for the upload and Inspiration! It helps me to Keep up and try to find gorgeus Scenes in this woodland "Brandenburg" where i am living. With kind regards Kevin.
Fantastic video, Simon, one of your best ever. I just loved the sequence at the end where you returned to the woods and took those haunting, moody images in the mist and fog. Thanks, so much-I think I'm going to watch it again.
Awesome scenery Simon. Great photo's. Love the composition of your shots. One of these days I would love to go up there for winter. I'm in Arizona and it's in the mid-70s right now. Keep up the great work.
Ah, Simon, A dog and his boy. Exhilarating! It's frigid here in Nashville, but you're making me want to get out and shoot the nearby frozen bogs.As you've well shown snow "sculpts" the trees in a very pleasing way. I dearly hope we get some of that here. It makes the cold so much less bitter. Your muted palette efforts are sublime. Thank-You, Mike

Lovely images. Calmness, stillness and solitude (sort of...) in a perfect scenery. I think I'm there too...
Always enjoy your vlogs. I do find them uplifting. They so remind me of home (living overseas), miss the woodlands. I need to get into some forests and use your ideas to help me with my photography. We do not get mist very often in the hills, but get low cloud. Need to take more pictures in the clouds. Thank you
Wonderful video Simon, I’ve subscribed to quite a few channels but I look forward to your videos more than any other. What fabulous scenery and I so enjoyed watching Meg in the snow ❄️ 🐶😀
Simply beautiful location to wander through and make photographs. We're stuck in the height of summer (very little photographic atmosphere for landscapes) and with a heatwave passing through so this is a feast for summer eyes!
There's nothing quite like a SB video after a long day cooped up in an office! The avenue of trees is my favourite from this shoot. Lovely drone work too.
Another great video Simon so inspiring! we've got a caravan booked for the last weekend in January in the Lakes to do some photography just hope the weather is as good as on this video...fingers crossed! keep up the good work.
Love the drone work and truly appreciate the reminder to keep the passion burning to carry you through to the results you desire. Top notch...as always!
Simon as always great video! I am trying to put together a channel of my own and your channel has been a great inspiration that I hope to use going forward. Thanks
Great video Simon took me back to my childhood, winter in the woods near my home in Staffordshire. Your images are fantastic and I loved the drone footage the snow and mist creates a beautiful atmosphere. Well done.
Please keep watching as the video doesn't finish when expected :) We really enjoyed this one and I hope you do too. As always, I really appreciate and look forward to your comments.
Hey Simon, can you share a link for those base layers you mentioned please? I'm always looking for solutions to keep me warm!
Cheers Simon, I'll check it out! :-)
Hey Simon sorry to be nosy just hoping that on okay ,as you've not been on here for a couple of months . miss your videos as I think your one of the best on here
Hi Julian can you share the link for the base layers please. I cant see it for some reason. Many thanks
How did I miss this one, going to have to go back and go through them all. Enjoyed it
Do not need a TV anymore. The glorious three Tucker, Heaton and Baxter are much more interessting and fun to watch. Greetings from Germany.
I SO Agree!
The peace and tranquil atmosphere in the forests you visit really come across in your videos. I find them so uplifting.
Meg is always so happy. I just love watching her😊😍
That is one happy dog. A winter woodland walk with a happy dog. Yes that would be therapeutic.
Beautifully produced and a joy to watch. The resulting photos are great too. And surely watching Meg bouncing around and returning for loves and cuddles would warm anyones heart.
Magic. Thank you, Simon for being so revealing and intimate with your creative process. You are an inspiration.
Thank you for talking about the struggle of photographing snow. I have found it a real problem. Your idea to circle what you want to photograph is a great idea.
Great as always. Please send some of that snow down to West Sussex.
Simon, I’m always impressed by your videos - both your words & your images. Thanks for sharing them.
What a fantastic little story! :)
Another delightful video. As you say perseverance does pay dividends, in this case with some super images as well as a great time with, what is possibly, the happiest dog on the planet. Both results are worthwhile on their own but together are memorable.
What a magical Atmosphere, the music is amazing, the woodland is beautiful. So glad I found this channel!
Congratulations on winning the landscape photo award -well-deserved!
Very kind, thank you!!
Great one Simon.... love it when there are big fluffy flakes coming down - nothing better than being out on a winter day like that....

Nice Traveller style notebook. Everything else was awesome too, especially Meg

Meg is super cool and playful.
Enjoyed it very much. Meg is an ace snowball catcher!
Many thanks, Rachael! A shame you didn't get to throw one for her :)
Brilliant and beautiful work from start to finish Simon - a privilege to watch. Thank you. And yes - always perseverance and passion. Superb.
I love the solitude of your journey into photography and it really reflects remarkably well in your photos. Great work, oh and your companionship with your dog balances it out quite well too.
I'd forgotten this one!
Beautiful as always.
Meg looked to be having loads of fun : )
Superb, and with an encore at the end. Thank you Simon.
Thank you for a lovely new year's gift Simon. This was a sublime serene monochromatic visual experience. I loved your links on camera with the snow gently showering down. Bliss! And of course the snow ball scene with Meg was a delight!

Beautiful snow covered trees!
Lovely images. And what a fantastic location with all that snow!
That picture at 11:56 is probably my favorite picture I have seen this year. Just gorgeous, whew good stuff
What a gorgeous video Simon, so beautiful and peaceful. Loved your images and the drone work. Meg is quite a star, every shot of her made me smile.
Simon, I know this is not exactly a photography response but I live in a place that really does not have winter. I must say it baffles me that your pup can handle the snow and water. Fantastic images and very creative and atmospheric footage - thank you keep up the good work.
We get snow so infrequently that when it comes, you've got to get out in it! Enjoyable, as ever.

Simon - great videos and your shots of the trees in the snow are amazing. Keep it up.
Presentation 10/10, production 10/10, photography 9/10, Meg content 11/10. ;-)
Thanks but I'm disappointed with those scores ;-)
Great, great setting. Inspires me to get out this winter. Once it warms up from the -25C we've been exeriencing.
Thanks for the inspiration Simon. Meg sure is crazy. I only wish where I live it wasn't so darn cold. Woodland and snow is the best.
Thanks for another great video, Simon! I finally joined your mailing list, and am hoping to book one of your workshops if I can make it over to England and Scotland later this year (I grew up in London, but now live in the US). I'll be in touch as soon as our travel plans become clearer.

Absolutely gorgeous. So glad you went back for the second day.
Great video, lovely images and Meg...who is, of course, a star. She makes me smile whenever I see her.
