Hey Nigel. This video just popped up in my YT feed and I have not seen it before. I've only been a follower of yours only for a year or so. The video was great and inspirational as are your current ones but I really enjoyed seeing that you've not changed your format or approach to your videos in the last 4 years. You mention you were happy to have 11k subscribers back then and now you have 250k or so? Awesome work and life sharing you're doing for many of us, particularly now during a pandemic. Pebbles looks closer to a pup then?? Anyway congrats on your success. Sometimes I actually miss a day or two of the snow from up north but retirement in Florida, now 5 years, is where I need to be these days. Take care.
Once again I enjoyed this great presentation of these glorious snow scenes. Thank you so much for being so generous in sharing your experiences with your fans.
Thanks for this Nigel. I wish you a great year. What I love about what you do is you make it about the doing and not the kit; photography can be very expansive and for someone on a low income living in Surrey (house prices... don't get me started) I manage with an 18-200 & a 10Mp entry-level body from 10 years back, however, this forces me to look in more detail - your suggestions always help (though I'd love some snow & a viewpoint). Take care
You make winter so good. Brrrrr. Will buy some warmer clothes and give it a try. Will you do a video on how to take care of your camera and lens when out in the cold and then coming back into the warm house? The problems with condensation in the camera and the lens.
2018 will be the year I finally get to grips with photography. You are one of my educators and I thank you for that. Simple hints and tips are what I'm after. I'll be going back over some of your previous stuff to see what I have failed to register and look forward to all the new videos in the coming year. Keep at it Nigel, it's much appreciated.
Hi Nigel. Loads of good stuff to digest here. It never ceases to amaze me how the seasons can change a view and it really does pay dividends to keep getting out there at all times of year. Thanks for all the great content you've shared this year. Hope all your plans for 2018 come to fruition and that you get chance to share them with us here on youtube.
Great information and tips to focus on Nigel. If you just send me some snow I will put them into practice. I love your images and that dog is so happy to be your helper.
I love watching your videos. I have a D7000 Nikon. I am still learning my camera. I love all the tips. Lol....I have to write it down because when I take my camera out to shoot, I forget what I learned. Come to the US to give me a class or a day out shooting. Take care
I hate winter and snow but you got me inspired to also take photographs in winter. The problem right now is that we don´t have any snow at the moment. It comes and goes. It snowed about 5 cm on New Years Eve, but today it´s all gone again. Living in the south of Sweden, that is quite common. Like your videos!
Great tips Nigel, and great images to demonstrate them. I like your idea with shooting everything with sunny white balance, I may have to give it a try.
Nigel it’s fantastic that you take the time to share your experience as it’s channels such as this that enables so many of us to work to improve our skills and techniques. Look forward to seeing more in 2018
Great advice Nigel. Thank you so much for this. Please would you consider doing a video on vital winter gear every photographer should have? I don’t mean just the photography gear, but also essential and sensible clothing/gadget which make getting out and about in the cold a little easier.
Super vlog once again, as ever. Thank you for all your videos throughout the year. I've learned so much from all of them. Good luck for 2021, Nigel and thanks again 😊
Another fine video Nigel--thank you. Would be interesting if you threw in a few comments along the way on your video techniques your using, such as how you use your drone or how you set up different scenes.
Great Video Nigel - love the warmth vs. cold in the images, they really pop. White balance really important as well. Happy New Year to you and your family - great dog also.
Brilliant video once again, Nigel. Great tips here and very inspiring advice as always. No snow here in the south just rain and wind, but you have spurred me on to go out anyway and see what I can find. I always find trees to be complicated unless they are lone ones, but you and Simon Baxter are helping me to understand them a bit better and hopefully with perseverance I will finally bag a shot I like. Btw Pebbles seems to have has grown a lot, loved the shots of her in the snow.
Awesome video!! Any chance you could share how to manage your gear in the cold conditions? For example, keeping batteries warm or any other tips that you have.
Some wonderful images Nigel and great ideas. Sadly here in South Devon snow is rare, other than Dartmoor. I don’t have the vehicle for driving on the moor in that kind of weather. Haw frosts don’t happen in the Devon climate. Winter here limits us more to fog, mist, rain and sea pictures with storm winds. Happy new year Nigel. Looking forward to some more of your great content.
Brilliant - winter is on its way an now I am waiting for frost and snow down here :-)...I should consider going to Mount Buller (VIC) or Bright (VIC)...
Those are some great winter photography tips. I will share your video on my Roger Younce Photography Facebook page and my website. Keep up the great work.
Very inspirational video, Nigel. Great tips and ideas. Winter is definitely settling in here in Ottawa, Canada. I just dug out my winter photography gloves so it's time to jump out of bed early in the morning and hit the trails. One advantage of winter is sunrise is a lot later than it is in summer :-)
Were you speaking lol.........to busy enjoying the images, never heard any sound problems, thanks for sharing all these tips....looking forward to seeing more in the New year.....all the best.
Good tips Nigel, before we end 2017 in 68 minutes just wanted to say a massive thank you for showing us all you’re brilliant work and amazing images together with your tips and advice. Wishing you a successful 2018, I’ll be watching 👍
Thank you for the video your pictures are amazing. My favorite is the tree taken on the border or Autumn and Winter. I’m just starting out and I have starter cameras Canon Rebel T5 and Nikon D5300. I really love photography and now that winter’s right around the corner I’ve been reluctant to take my cameras out because I’m concerned about condensation from the cold weather. Do you have any advice on how to protect my gear from condensation? Thank you
Another good video with excellent images, I live in London (not many mountains) so sometimes I go out and shoot what's near to me and other times I will travel. That's what adds to the FUN of my photography. I think your tips translate to so many photographic scenarios. Here's to 2018
Glad I discovered your channel, Nigel. So enjoyable and helpful! I love your outlook on life in general, and landscape photography in particular. Happy 2018 to you and yours - the best is yet to come.
Thanks so much for this video, Nigel. As always, I learned a great deal as I haven't done much photography in the winter, at least in snowy conditions. I'm looking forward to my trip to England in late January, where I can put your advice to good use. Also, I'm certainly looking forward to your 2018 videos. All best. Bob
These are great tips, thanks. I've been subconsciously applying a couple of them, but nice to have them explained, and to get more ideas! It's been -30C here, but the same principles apply :) BTW, enjoyed all your shots, but that last one is epic!
Happy New Year Nigel..and congratulations on the success in 2017..really well deserved as I know how much work must be going it to this channel and the other things you're doing.
Your enthusiasm is contagious.

Another great video.......Living in Michigan our winters can be a nasty.....you have given me a new inspiration to Get Out There. Thank You.
I"m speechless by how aesthetic the images are. Thank you so much for these tips:)
Beautiful work and wonderful advice. Thank you, so much!
Thank you Nigel for those tips of shooting in the winter, I too love to shoot trees.
Definitly agree with you on the trees in the winter
Thanks Nigel. I'm surrounded by snow in Ontario, Canada and have used a few of these ideas already. Thanks for extra tips!
Well done Nigel, stunning photography at its best with some wonderful tips to improve our photography. Very inspiring indeed!
Many thanks Allan
Great info and winter allows you to get out at 7am instead of 3am! Very useful and inspirational
True - very true
Truly inspirational, thank you! Going out now…
Thanks for this Nigel. I wish you a great year. Nothing wrong with an old camera... all in the user not the technology

Some great tips there Nigel. Very inspiring, love your passion.
Thanks Mary!
Really enjoyed this. Thank You. I see why you are so popular. Looking forward.
Love the warm and cool balance in one image. Brilliant idea and image.
Thanks Donna! Appreciate the kind words! Hope you are having a great day! 👍👍👍

Thanks Martin - really appreciate that you watch! Good luck!
Vert good tips I will try with the macro....
Wonderful ideas. As a fan of sun and warm weather, my winter weather tip is to find a place with palm trees. :)
that drone shot through the mist was soo sick
Thankd for good tips! Still a very good video after five years :)
Thanks for inspiration, education and entertainment over the last 12 months Nigel. Here's to 2018.
Thanks Steve - and you!!
Great video as always

Great advice. I just need to get out when I’m not stuck at work lol.

It is like that in the UK... comes and goes... this year we seem to have had more than usual though.

Sun Tree is such a beautiful image. Pines are my favorite trees. I hope I‘ll find an image like this one day and be able to take a photo.
Totally amazing and so helpful, love your images

Umbrella
The rain it raineth on the just, but also on the unjust fella; but mainly on the just, because the unjust stole the just's umbrella. Going shopping...

We loved this video. Super helpful, and inspiring! The California license plate in the background is a nice touch. Sending hugs -- the Forney Family
