I actually really appreciate this guy's separation of morals and ethics. Morals have the connotations of religious code, ethics do not. Ethics are a contextual framework of harm seperate from a religious framework.

Morality is subjective, no matter how much religious people want you to believe otherwise. Ethics is the application of morals. They are separate because in the act of trying to achieve certain moral axioms, you can enter many, _many_ gray areas.

I have been watching Jake's content for a while. Back when he was on TBR with Hannah, until now and this "debate" was hard to watch as a fan of Jake.
I am with the interlocutor here that jake was hostile from the jump. While he said a general statement about his opinion of leftist views, jake did objectively come at him with a direct personal insult. They were not equivalent statements at all. I am disappointed because jake came off as a gaslighting bully here and for at least the first half of the interview. If jake just let the guy talk himself into a corner and then start stress testing his beliefs, this could have been more effective of a debate.
I say this to say that i do not agree with this christian and his views in the absolute slightest. I am black and a former christian so these arguments are nothing new to me. Just the way that jake conducted himself here makes the other person with unreasonable views seem like the reasonable one. Not a good look for us leftists imo :/
