Matt Bellamy is a classically trained pianist. He's a great guitarist and vocalist as well.

Wimbledon is the Tennis, this gig was at Wembley which is a football (soccer) stadium (90,000 + capacity). There is also Wembley arena where many many more rock concerts are played which is 12,500 capacity.
Matt Bellamy was a pianist before a guitar player, and he's very influenced by classical music, so that's why.
I mean he used to teach himself piano by listening to his grandmothers records and copying them. Then he was given a guitar and did the same thing with that, listens to songs and worked them out.

Wembley Stadium, where they were playing, is where they usually player soccer not tennis. The tennis championships you were talking about is played at Wimbledon which is still in London and not too far from Wembley.

Great song and great reaction as always dudes. Muse are a great band. I live in Exeter, Devon in the UK and Muse grew up just a few miles down the road from me in Teignmouth. So many great songs by them you could check out such as New Born, Hysteria, Stockholm Syndrome, Citizen Erased, Plug in Baby, Bliss, Madness, Sunburn, Time Is Running Out and Muscle Museum to name just a small handful.

Wimbledon is the tennis my friends, Wembley is the football world cup stadium in england. A full sized stadium.
The Tennis as at Wimbledon, Wembley is our national stadium used primarily for Football (soccer)
I learned the piano solo when i was 17. Its incredibly flashy, but its literally just arpeggio triads up and down the keys. Once you grt the technique down its not so difficult in comparison to learning and playing a chopin poece. Which matt can and has done on albums.

I've seen Muse twice at the O2, during the 2nd Law and then the Drones tours and they truly deserve all the awards they received for Best live Act over the years. "This guy's showing off now!" Well yes and no. Yes the piano bit is in the song but he's actually playing it faster than the studio version. Stockholm Syndrome, Hysteria, Knights of Cydonia, New Born, Liquid State (where Chris the bassist gets to flex his vocals), Survival, The 2nd Law (Unsustainable), there's just so many great songs to pick.

You should do Muse - Stockholm Syndrome (live) or their songs Space Dementia and Citizen Erased. Also, I wouldn't compare Muse to ACDC, Muse are more like the modern Queen.
Modern day Queen is how I always describe Muse. Their music is just so epic!

Chaos theory is that you're talking about I think man. This is an old song for Muse and an old concert too, still awesome though. Seen them live 3 times now and they are fkin awesome and rock really hard. Lads, you've got to see them live if you get chance soon.
Butterfly Effect IS Right. That's reflected in the light notes that build into crescendos. one small pebble in a pond that can cause ripple that expand outwards . The power of the small that can change the world.and the Urgency imbedded in the rhythm.
Live at Wembley was peak Muse -- before every album was Uprising again. Every song from that concert was a trip. The final 4 songs from that concert will destroy you in bliss. If you can find the playlist for 2007 Live at Wembley go to Blackout, Plugin Baby, Stockholm Syndrome then Take a Bow. It will leave you a changed person.
Love this band to death, got to see them in Minneapolis in 2013, there live shows are amazing. Only show that visuals and stage setup came close to a Tool show.

One of the best things about Muse (I have to admit I stopped listening to them since The Resistance) is that their live versions give all of the power of studio versions with a bit more passion, more OOOMPH if that's possible. Regarding Matt Bellamy's piano playing, he might be the best in rock and rock-adjacent genres by far. His playing (and the parts he plays) are more suited to let's say a piano sonata/concerto from the Romantic period, pretty much like putting Rachmaninov with drums, bass and vocals instead of an orchestra. But it doesn't feel pompous or ridiculous as many progressive metal/symphonic metal bands. That's quite something.
As for a great pianist there's Tuomas Holopainen from nightwish:) love him!! (Had to look up the spelling of his name.) lol!!
I knew you guys were going to go crazy for the piano part. Matt Bellamy is a super talented musician. I can't remember what song it is, but there is a song where he whistles at the beginning and even him just whistling is amazing.

There is also space dementia by muse, matt plays the piano throughout the song yet it is still quite a heavy song. I would reccomend the live version if you are interested.

If you count keyboardists as pianists, you definately have to check out a power metal band called Stratovarius. They're from Finland and are one of the pioneers of the genre. They are legendary for having guitar and keyboard duels in their songs with tasteful fast shredding. A good song to start with from them would be the video for 'My Eternal Dream' 😊👍
