The guitar is Manson. Matt Bellamy (guitarist and singer) is the owner of the Mansons guitar now. He holds the record of the most smashing guitars in a tour (140 guitars). Muse is the best live band of the last 20 years and you saw why
Muse is known as one of the best live band in the world. They are consistently make albums every 3 years. You can check Muse - Stockholm Syndrome live at Glastonbury 2004 for another epic performance.
Matt Bellamy (vocalist and guitarist) is a fantastic musician and Muse have such a huge sound for only having 3 members. To this day they are the best live band I've ever seen. Much love from Leeds, England! 🇬🇧
Matt Bellamy has always been a huge RATM fan, quite a bit of influence in their music (even though Muse is nearly as old, first album from 1999) - that riff at the end of the song is from Microphone Fiend, literally a RATM riff. Good call picking up on that one! By the way, great reaction. Loved watching this.
The Manson guitars Matt Bellamy uses are all custom jobs, they do sell replicas now though. It's kind of designed around a telecaster, with a Chaos midi control pad, (I think) a Bareknuckle nailbomber pickup and a sustainer built in to the neck pickup. The sustainer keeps the strings vibrating, he then plays around with that with the whammy pedal.
Every time I see a video of Muse at Wembley I spend the entire time trying to find myself in the crowd. I've not found myself yet and probably never will but I remain ever the optimist! They are truly amazing to see live.
I would love to quote the late Chester, in NME interview 2009: "Bennington said the he thinks Muse are currently the band to beat in the live arena, but he’s confident that Linkin Park will be able to equal the Devon trio’s high standards when they headline the Sonisphere festival on August 1."
The company that makes the guitars that he uses is called Manson Guitarworks. Matthew Bellamy (singer, piano, guitar) is also co-owner of this company since 2019.
Now you can see why The Warning are huge fans of this band, and are a major influence on their bassist Ale,you gotta see her play Muse's "Hysteria" basslines - even Muse themselves posted it on their own social media.
this Band has an exquisit impact on me . my heart never wants to scream with joy as much as when they perform. their body of work is surprising satisfyingly epic , rock classic synth and pure adrenaline. their subject matter will trigger a journey of the mind whilst their I strumental performances make me jealous of the instruments . I want to be played like that. Matt comes close to sounding as if he himself is an electric guitar. the compositions!! oh the compositions!!! This band represents the best aspects of music to me.
*Via Wikipedia: Since the early 2000s, Bellamy has worked with Manson Guitar Works, based in Devon, to create his electric guitars, and they have released several "M-series" signature models.[23] In 2019, Bellamy purchased a majority stake in Manson.[24] In 2020, Bellamy purchased the Fender Telecaster used by Jeff Buckley for his only studio album, Grace (1994). Bellamy used it to record a song with the Jaded Hearts Club, and said he plans to use it when next recording with Muse.[25] Bellamy uses the Z.Vex Fuzz Factory, which he uses to achieve his signature feedback squeals, such as in the introduction of "Plug in Baby". He has said that the core of his tone is a Vox AC30. Bellamy often uses Kawai pianos and keyboards live. One of his most commonly used keyboards is the Kawai MP-8, in both upright and grand cases.[26] Both Bellamy and [bass player] Wolstenholme use touch-screen controllers, often built into their instruments, to control synthesisers and effects including a Korg Kaoss pad or Digitech Whammy pedal.[27]*
As a muse fan for many years, I still get the reactions that you are feeling every time I put them on! The depth this band has is absolutely unbelievable!
Seem them live 4 times. Nothing else like them live. I wish I had a time machine to attend this particular concert. If you want to see them perform something 180 degrees from this check out Unintended from the same concert.
I was lucky enough to be there on this exact day! Best band in the world! The guitars are made by Manson, a small British guitar maker. Matt works with them to create his own guitars, completely bespoke to him. Matt is very much an experimental musician and you find with every new album they release he will come up with brand new guitars. You can buy replicas with the same tech inside from Manson but they are always limited and hand made so are rather costly!
Me and all my brothers listen different kind of rock, metal, punk, and hiphop music. But, when one of them play muse really loud... No body complaint 😂
Apparently their first two albums - which are my favourite ones by Muse - weren't released over in the US when they came out; the first one released over there was their third for some odd reason.
Love this reaction. Watched it a few times. A guitarist reaction of Matt on his custom Manson guitar is a treat. His face scrunching up as Fragile's mind is overwhelmed with what Matt is doing is really unique. Really cool.
So happy you react to this. Your reaction is fun to watch and everything along. If you will do another Muse reaction, I will 100% to check it! Just do live versions. If you are fan of guitar parts I would recommend also Citizen Erased in Glastonbury 2004. Plug in Baby in Rome. But live. Its live performances that blow Muse into legendary status.
Nice reaction guys... This era of Muse always gets me so hyped.. The energy is insane.. As for the guitar it's a Manson as stated below but Matt doesn't own the company, he is however the majority share holder. And the guitar is more of a telecaster style fitted with an x y controller for a chaoss pad. And he uses a digitech whammy pedal not a wah.
Matt Belamy only uses custom guitars hand made for him. He once explained in an interview, when you pick up a fender you play like hendrix, an ibanez like Vai, I only wanted to play like Matt so just had my guitars made for me.
Hello guys! Other than The Wolf Hunterz, i also love to see your reaction on Muse. So, please react to Muse new song 'Wont stand down'. Thank you guys! Really hope it.
Pretty sure Matt builds his own guitars, the one he used in this has a digital touch pad (the square at the back near the bridge) that generates the effects at the start of the song. You need to see plug in baby
the guitar in question is a manson mb1 with a sustaniac pick up, kill switch and digi tech board, i own one and its the most insane guitar ive ever used
Best Muse videos that demonstrate more of that HUGE live show feel would be Plug In Baby or Knights of Cydonia from the Rome Olympic Stadium show, or Stockholm Syndrome from the HAARP show (same as this!) Great reaction :)
Probably my favourite live band, I saw them live during the Origin of Symmetry album and absolution stages. I would check out their Hullabaloo live video from their earlier years, some really good live performances on that, Muscle Museum and Cave are great tracks
Muse are the greatest live performers on the planet… obviously their studio stuff is still second to none, but when I put them on- it’s always the live stuff I go for- u guys should react to reapers or Stockholm syndrome or psycho… I could probably list stuff all day lol… hysteria has been credited as having the greatest bassline of all time, and supermassive black hole- one of the greatest rock songs of our time… my personal favourite is uprising…anyway- great video guys- best of luck from Ireland 🇮🇪
It was this song really got me hooked on Muse about 16 years ago (when my daughter was 'newborn')I dont watch many of the live performances (I did see them live about 10 years ago) but this was awesome and I enjoyed getting to see someone else appreciate it.
Listen to more muse. Always live!!! Your welcome. By the way that was a rage against the machine riff. Guitarist Matt bellemys favorite guitarist Tom morello!!
I was at the Manchester Simulation Theory show in June 2019 when Tom joined Matt on stage, an amazing performance. I agree, live is always better for Muse
Like with Nightwish, it's really a shame this amazing band isn't bigger in the US. The got kind of a bump from being featured in a 'Twilight' movie and were in Guitar Hero 3, some years ago, but otherwise they don't get a lot of play over here. I'd totally go see them if I could. Good job, guys!
The guitar is a custom Manson. He literally had gone through three figures worth of them (not money, actual guitars). Matt holds the record for most guitars destroyed during a tour at like.... 123? I think they're valued at ~12,000USD each. There's some great behind the scene footage of him cranked on stims after shows just hurling guitars into traffic and dumpsters and being a fucking rock fucking star
If you’re a fan of this, check out their performance of Stockholm Syndrome in Glastonbury 2004 and Bliss in Le Zenith 2001. Both are among their best live performances ever and include some absolutely amazing crazy riff outros.
Please subscribe for more content. Thank you all!
Manson MB-1 chaos pad controller guitar.

Nine Inch Nails smashed 140 Les Pauls during the 94-95 The Downward Spiral Tour.

This has to be my favorite performance live! Cant get enough of that guitar tone in the first riff.
@@deepvoidd Matt literally held the record though. It was in the Guinness Book of World Records. It's no longer a category they monitor, however.
Muse is one of the best live bands of all time. I think that's common knowledge
Id go so far as to say it's just fact at this point.
@@Jasruler yeah but they’ve drastically changed… they don’t sound the same anymore
@@poodook they've changed sound with every album, they still sound great tho
@@poodook listen to their new one- won’t stand down… a lot more like their older stuff 🥰
@@poodook and that's what make them one of the best band ever. They are versatile and have not afraid of experiment.
Muse is known as one of the best live band in the world. They are consistently make albums every 3 years. You can check Muse - Stockholm Syndrome live at Glastonbury 2004 for another epic performance.
Muse, Rammstein and Nightwish are the Holy Trinity of live bands
@@Always-fd7pk funnily enough i have seen all 3 of them and seen basically no other big bands live
Matt Bellamy (vocalist and guitarist) is a fantastic musician and Muse have such a huge sound for only having 3 members. To this day they are the best live band I've ever seen. Much love from Leeds, England! 🇬🇧
Although to be fair they do have a keyboard player Morgan who tours with them but isn’t officially a member of the band 👍🏻
@@neiljpearce shout out the ‘invisible man’ Morgan Nicholls, without whom .............
Knights of cydonia live at rome olympic stadium is amazing, def reccomend that one
Seconded!
Yes please!

Also Deftones as well. He plays it live.

More Muse reactions please! PLEASSEE! 🎸🔥🔥🔥🔥🤘🏽 cheers!
I was there in the crowd... traveled over 1200 miles just to see them live!
OMG la chance un de mes rêves
*MUSE = Epic Rock composed for stadiums, but luckily also via Hi-Fi in almost same way to enjoy.*

Funny you should mention 'The Warning' - I saw them opening for Muse last month.
Hadn't really heard of them before - was very impressed

Best f…king power trio ever!!!! I miss the old Muse so much.
The legends muse never disappointed.
I've been fortunate to see them live four times. Every show absolutely amazing.
He has the guitars custom-made in Exeter. He's the son of George Bellamy from the Tornadoes. They were never rich... But he is now.
The guitar is a Manson M1D1 complete with bridge humbucker, sustainiac neck pick up and a midi x,y pad connected to a chaos pad
For the record, they draw this kind of crowd here in Canada as well!

Matt Bellamy's dad was in the Tornadoes, they had a big instrumental hit in the 60's
Telstar - the first British invasion hit in the 60's.
Guitar: Cort manson MBC Red Sparkel

HE WAS 1 OFF THE FIRST WITH the he is elite
Manson MB-1 is the guitar he uses for Newborn and Supermassive black hole 💕
the guitar is Manson, built specially for Matt because he wanted a body like telecaster but sounds like lespaul
My favorites guitar playes are Matt Bellamy, David Gilmour of pink Pink Floyd and Dany Villarreal of the Warning.
Probably my favourite live band, I saw them live during the Origin of Symmetry album and absolution stages. I would check out their Hullabaloo live video from their earlier years, some really good live performances on that, Muscle Museum and Cave are great tracks
6:40 it's a whammy pedal, it shifts the pitch of the tone. A wah pedal keeps the pitch but produces a "wah" sound
God i love this song
I agree with everyone, Muse are a stupendous live band. And I first saw them at a free concert in Luxembourg in 2002.
very enjoyable video! would love to see more Muse reactions, cheers!

Matt Bellamy owns Manson guitars and I believe only uses Mansons
Manson guitar with kaos path or something like that
The guitar is branded by Mason. And the most similar fender to that is a Tele
It‘s the Manson Red Santa Guitar
There isn't a wah pedal, this Is whammy digitech
You should react to Tarja - Supremacy (a Muse cover) live at Woodstock 2016, the performance really shows off Tarja's amazing vocals.
I'm Baaaaccckk. Lol
He plays Manson guitars
The piano reminds me of candy man
You should react to Bliss live in Hullabaloo
Hey Guys! Great Reaction! It would be amazing if you check. More Muse live (Microcuts, Citizen erased, Supremacy and of course Knights of cydonia)
Listen Glastonbury Live Muse 2004 !!!!
Oh, he designs his own guitars, its a manson
Check out their show at glastonbury ffs.
