Matt Bellamy has the world record for most guitars smashed on stage. It's a tradition he likes to keep alive! All guitars broken are either repaired or donated to charity to raise money :)
He might try to play on the most continents like Def Leppard. I fucking love both bands. J/K Both great live. Can I have them together? Asking as a Midwesterner who has seen them both once.
Muse does small shows too, but they still make it a big deal. I went to see them in Quebec City, Canada at a smaller venue but they still put on the best live show I've ever seen. It was truly an experience to see and hear these guys play.
At this point, Muse is always the headliner. Giant arena shows are great, but I'd personally prefer a much more intimate setting like this. One of the best shows I've seen was Muse at a theater.
FYI, after about the 5 minute mark (where the ad came in on the dot actually) isn't the actual song or on the album. Those are just bonus fun, heavy riffs for the live show. Also, "the guy back there" is just a touring musician to take on some key parts and other stuff that Matt can't perform live cause he's busy playing guitar. (in this song, his main role is clearly the arpeggiated keys during the part you called "operatic") Lots of bands do it... he's not in the band, but he's part of the touring line-up.
So went to see Muse for the 1st time on the last night of their tour on Oct 2, they were on fire!! Matt smashed 2 guitars during the night, a girl at the front who was at her 225th gig got one of the smashed guitars and Matt also gave her a working one, and yes you guys MUST MUST MUST go and see Muse live, they are phenomenal
Since you guys asked, the stapes is the smallest bone of the middle ear. It's a part of the chain of three bones that transmit vibrations from your tympanic membrane to your inner ear.
Hands down the best band I've seen live. I saw them when they were touring for their album "The 2nd Law" and it was amazing. No drop in energy, sound was like on the CD, everything was just perfect. I would love to see them again.
So, to go deep into MUSE you need to watch: 1 - Darkshines, Hullabaloo live version 2 - Microcuts, Hullabaloo live version 3 - Space dementia, Pinkpop live 5 - Stockholm syndrome, Wembley live (Glastonbury is also GOAT) 6 - Knights of Cydonia, Rome live 7 - Reapers, Mayan live 8 - Unintended, Wembley live 9 - Hysteria, live or studio 10 - Uprising, live or studio 11 - Supermasive black hole, live or studio 12 - Algorithm, live show 13 - City of Delusion, live or studio 14 - New Born, Wembley live 15 - Butterflies and Hurricanes, Wembley live 16 - Unnatural selection, live or studio 17 - Map of the problematique, Wembley live 18 - Muscle Museum, live or studio 19 - Exogenesis Symphonie (real symphonie in 3 parts) 20 - Citizen erased, Reading live 21 - Showbiz, live or studio 22 - Assasin, Mayan live 23 - Muscle Museum, live or studio ......... There are ton's of great music from this band. For 7 years I still haven't heard even a half of their's discography.
Muse don't have a genre. They change their style each album. The last one was very synth driven and their new stuff is practically metal. They get such a big sound considering there is only 3 members but they're all amazing musicians.
Did they actually go back to the metal sound?? I’ve been waiting for years. It wasn’t just their last one that was mostly synth that’s why I stopped listening back in 2012 too much synth
@@mookiestewart3776 I enjoy it. But it isn't quite the same as Origin of Symmetry levels. They have counterbalanced it by adding in all sorts of fun stuff though
Awesome reaction guys if you love Muse live songs you should really react to the live version of Reapers and Assassin they are both amazing and the guitar work of Bellamy is amazing !! Lov u guys
Muse are so diverse and have a bunch of electronic songs aswell. I'm a metalhead but my favorite Muse song is Dead Inside, which is like 70% electronic and switches over to a more rock-like sound towards the end before closing it out with the electronic sound again. Amazing song and beautiful music video. MUSE - DEAD INSIDE
If you're a metalhead, I think you'd really like some songs from their Will of the People album. Kill or Be Killed is really heavy, which is awesome. Won't Stand Down also has good heaviness. Dead Inside is such a good song as well, I love listening to it. The emotion is so real in that song
matt has his guitars built so that if they break the neck breaks and can be replaced easily, he said in an interview the issue was getting someone who enjoyed putting them back together, he also has a ton of guitars and I'm pretty sure he has one guitar for each song on the set plus some backups, usually each song requires different guitars, some need a whammy bar, some need a sustaniac, some need a fuzz factory (yes he has guitars with a built in fuzz factory and with sustainers), some need 7 strings some need a literal midi pad built into the guitar which lets him control midi pedals with his guitar, so usually he can't properly play most songs in the set with just one guitar
I reckon you'd love one of the performances from their Hullabaloo show that was filmed for DVD (and I guess VHS still hah) after their second album. It was a go-to for me to hype myself up for the live shows I saw them between 2004-2010 (they never came back to NZ since then though... 'tear) - youthful exuberance and high energy and a wall of sound for their heavy songs! Recommended Citizen Erased, Dead Star, Muscle Museum or Micro Cuts for the intensely high falsetto!
I was so excited to see that you were reacting to this song. One of their best in my opinion. 3 of the most talented dudes in rock. Keep it up guys. Love this channels so damn much. Volbeat-Shotgun Blues Thanks!!!
These guys kill it at their concerts - and with only three band members. Matt Bellamy is a musical genius - named my sweet pup after him and she won meet and greets to their concert for me!
Another awesome reaction. They are stellar live, but I would definitely recommend the studio version as well just to be able to hear all the nuances, the richness and his amazing lyrics. Thanks for this guys!
Morning fellas! I really enjoyed this reaction! I don't know much about these guys but this was a really great song and video. Love the guitars!! Thanks guys!🤓❤️
Muse are mostly known for huge visual effects and are a live band not so much a chart topping band but saying that they sold tons of albums over the years over 20 million but when they headline the crowds sell out almost instantly
"He broke a guitar!". Dudes, if you think that's bad you should have seen some of the shows Nine Inch Nails did back in the 90's if you want to see guitars and other equipment being wrecked. Haha! Gotta love Muse though. Superb live band!
Like others mentioned, Matt Bellamy has the record for most smashed guitars during a tour. However, he has explained several times that his guitars are pretty sturdy, and rarely break irreparably. Most of the time, it's just the neck of the guitar that snaps, so it's pretty easy to have them repaired, and he can keep using them for a long time. So, there's no need to feel too bad about the broken guitars.
I've been to 10 Muse concerts and yes they are are amazing as you think the are. The fans, the vibe, the skills, the performance and production. Go if you can. You'll nerve regret it. Morgan Nicholls (born 18 March 1971) is an English musician, member of English pop band Senseless Things and best known for performing with Muse, Gorillaz, etc

Muse have the world record of most guitars smashed on tour, which it's in the hundreds! I think the next song you guys should do is Showbiz live at Glastonbury 2000, it's a killer song and shows young Muse!
This is the kind of song where, when listening to their albums, you're like "yeah I like this, it might be in my top 5 or 10 or something" - but the moment you get to see this and experience this at a live show, it immediately shoots to the top. To be fair, that's most of their songs 😉
I suggest you, to watch the "Muse live at rome olympic stadium" it's by far my favorite muse live concert, It's the one I show to my friends when they wanna listen some Muse for first time
I love Muse, and have seen them live in Houston about 5 times. The first time, they were the opening act for U2 in Reliant Center ( stadium for the Texans). The other shows were at the Rockets arena. I know they also do even smaller venues if the cause is right, but that’s usually in Europe. I can’t wait to see when they will come again for their newest album
He broke A guitar? Man, I think Matt has the Guiness Record from broken guitars back in the day, it was his thing! The other guy is the keyboard guy when in concert Matt can play the keyboard and the guitar at the same time
The best thing is even though Matt Bellamy had broken over 140 guitars, it’s only really a few, since they’re made to be easily fixed. The neck can come off the body and be put back pretty easily, if I remember right 😁
Once you hear Matts intake of breath between each line you can’t unhear it. He’s such an unassuming guy, you wouldn’t believe he could shred like that. Saw them in Brisbane on their Absolution tour, they were fucking amazing…🤘🏻
I saw Muse close out one of the nights of Lollapalooza 2011. Coldplay was playing at the same time on the other end of the festival. It was one hell of a show!!! I always compare Muse to a heavier version of Queen : )
I love your quiz in the beginning for the song name. Never stop that. For this one you could have gone for "capital of sweden?(stockholm)" to make it a bigger challange ;D
