    I have a 2018 trd pro, and a couple comments on your review: 1. The touchy brake thing happened at first, but it went away as soon as they were worn a bit. 2. the cup holder that was in the way of the shifter isn't a cup holder. 3, the head rests on the back seats will stow away in two holes in the back of the flipped-up bottom seat. 4. the trails are a lot of fun, but the truck really shines on desert runs where you get some speed. I enjoyed your review, though, thanks!

    Can't go wrong with a Tacoma. Toyota is a bad ass company for something you need reliable. My grandfather when he was alive used just Toyota after his first Tacoma manual. Couldnt be beat down, ran over 400k mileage before he passed. And loved that truck! And it kinda showed an eye opener of some vehicles still on the road and give you the reliability you need for the best bang for your buck. Getting one soon here too, and even to have a little bit of everything now in these newer models... Awesome it came a long way

    The tacoma trd pro is STILL my favorite midsize truck. Absolutely love the design of it and everything about it. I own a 4runner with the pre-2020 infotainment update and it doesn’t bother me at all. I don’t need some high def clear ass graphics and stuff like that doesn’t bother me. The infotainment is simple yet has everything you need. I don’t care if the resolution isn’t the cleanest as long as it works and keeps working which it has and will. I love the simple interior and the aggressive design and look of both the 4Runner and tacoma. I’d take the tacoma over a gladiator ranger Colorado anyday and I’m perfectly happy with my 4runner after all these years and would never trade it or sell it.

    • @samuelrowland76
      @samuelrowland76 3 года назад +6

      muhammadhaziq it’s not the transmission that’s the problem, it’s more just the fact it’s programmed for fuel efficiency. It wants to be in a higher gear than what most want. The fix for this is getting a manual, or on Tacoma’s there is this button that says “ect power” and it makes the truck wait to shift at a higher rpm.

    • @hecticphusion
      @hecticphusion 3 года назад +3

      @@samuelrowland76 The manual isn't any better. The problem is the engine. It's a Camry engine tuned for power high in the rev range which is not suitable for a truck with big tires. To make the truck enjoyable to drive you have to regear or drive with ESC Power (or whatever it's called) turned on all the time. I tried so hard to love my 2019 but it's honestly miserable to drive in traffic and around town.

      Ethan Noel I re-geared to 4.88 and it runs great. Mileage is the same. I have a3” lift with 265/75/16. Sucks you have to do that, but companies are trying to hit MPG targets.

    Every time you guys get into a Tacoma you complain about the seating position without considering the reasons for it. The high floor keeps the rocker panels well clear of rocks and logs, the feet out in front seating position keeps the roof and center of gravity low for stability over uneven terrain. I'm 5'10" and have no issues with fitting in my 2nd gen Tacoma OR.

    I have a manual tacoma TRD pro (without the ISIS air intake) and I have 0 complaints. It runs like a boss and soaks up rough terrain. I owned a 2015 Renegade trail hawk and to many complaints to list from the dealership to the engine burning oil at 50k like a vehicle with 350k. Never buying from fiat.. I mean jeep again. Little know fact the manuals are made in Texas.
