I bought an SR5 in 2019. She was perfect. I had none of the squeaks or flimsiness in the door handle that you experience until recently. She was tight and very quiet in almost every way. Even with my door handle, it felt tight; my door only had a SLIGHT rattle near where my left elbow would rest and only when I was blaring music. She was beautiful and perfectly maintained but she was totaled last week while I was at work. She was parked outside of my place of business and was murdered, outright. She did everything I ever asked of her and was absolutely bulletproof. RIP my baby, Charlotte.
Wow, Michael I'm so sorry to hear that. 2015 TRD, 340,000 miles, started running rough at 300,000 took it to a nearby Toyota dealership. The next day the service manager called me,"do you know these are the original spark plugs in this truck! They're supposed to be changed every 30k miles!" My bad, I thought it said 300. What makes Japanese engines so reliable? Many years ago I worked at a Toyota factory in the USA. One day we had some visitors from GM taking the factory tour and the visitor’s center was hospitable and had them meet some of the engineers and technical people (I was in IT and honestly had the best personality to deal with visitors so was invited along). The GM people asked us to see our rework yard. I had no idea where or what that was so I asked my colleagues what it is and where it is. They were as confused as me. When asked, the GM folks told us it’s the lot where they keep cars that come off the assembly line with defects so that they can be patched up and sold. So we took them to the small warehouse area where we keep the dozen or so cars that come off the line with a minor issue that we can fix and make it as good as every other car. More often than not it was an issue with the stitching on the seat or a steering wheel or something like that, and we would just replace the part that was imperfect. GM guy: “Where’s the rest of it?” Me: “This is it. What do you do?” GM guy explained they had a large lot for cars that come off the line with faulty body work or engines or transmissions, and they’re patched up so they can be sold. Then he said “what do you do with your defective cars?” We explained that it rarely happens, and when it does we study it, figure out what went wrong, fix the issue so it won’t happen again, and then either keep the car for further study and training purposes or crush it. Nothing that comes off the line with a serious defect leaves the factory.
That's a huge reason why during the chip shortage, and even now, you see the lots filled with the American brands and Toyota dealers can't keep any on their lots. The other brands just cut features like adaptive cruise control, heated seats, and cylinder deactivation to reduce the amount of chips they needed per car so they could keep churning out vehicles where as Toyota kept waiting for the right amount of chips to send out complete, fully functional vehicles. That's a true company culture of excellence. The fact that it is ingrained that "nothing that comes off the line with a serious defect leaves the factory" is amazing. (I know that Toyota isn't immune to recalls for some faulty parts here & there, and the frame rust fiasco, but like stated, they don't have a huge lot for faulty cars).

Good review brother! I just traded in my 2020 Sport Taco for the 2023 TRD PRO.. Say a prayer for my sister, she is battling stage 4 cancer and it has been rough. She tells me she's afraid, I tell her to Trust in the Lord with all her heart..
Bought my first Tacoma a few months ago. I purchased a 2020 TRD Off-road with 38 thousand miles. I absolutely love this truck. Crawl mode is awesome, and it has more bells and whistles than I’ll ever need. This truck will stay in my garage until it decides to die. God bless you and thank you for your testimony. All Glory to God. Without Him we are nothing.
Loved this video! The scripture and your testimony made me get emotional. Shared it with my girlfriend and she did too! Also I really resonated with your thoughts on the 2024 Tacoma and how to approach thing’s we don’t have. Just being content with what we do have. I have a 2002 with 330k. I’m going to buy a new one, but still going to keep my old truck! I can’t get much for it so I’m keeping it. It’s still running solid.
I Love my 23 TRD Off Road 6’ bed with Leather, sunroof, LED lights, Double Cab. I had been saving up for years and finding out that the 24 was going to be a 4cyl turbo, it was time to buy a 23 with the 278hp 3.5L naturally aspirated V6.
I bought a new 2014 Tacoma TRD Sport 2WD and it has run flawlessly. I don't put a lot of miles on my vehicles, and this one only has 110K on it, but I've never had an issue with this truck. I do maintenance and I've replaced the drive belt (preventive maintenance) and it's still running like new. I love this truck, but I'm really disappointed that Toyota is taking its most successful vehicle and ruining it by doing away with the V6 and putting over-worked, super-charged 4 cylinders in them. I don't care how much social media content they put out with paid engineers saying the 4 is just fine. I don't buy it, and I won't buy their new Tacoma.
Good morning brother Isaac, I loved the review on your Taco, I also have a 2019, 4 cylinder and am quite content with what God has blessed me with. I absolutely loved your beautiful testimony and teared up as I was listening to it. May Jesus continue blessing you in everything. 🙏🏼😊
Good scripture, brother! Good message! His Word is a mirror to my soul, and man oh man, how much I need Him! I’ve not ever been enough. I’ve not ever had enough to pay my own debt alone. But God commended His love towards someone like me, in that while I’m still a sinner, Christ died for me! Thank you, brother! Love the reviews, and I love the style that God has grafted in you.
Thanks for sharing the spirit’s conviction in your heart, as you know it impacts others who watch. Keep spreading the message and providing good content!
Love the story and scripture at the end, an inspirational reminder we all need!! WELL DONE!! I have a 22 TRD OR 4x4, DC, SB, v6 auto, got used, in June 24, with 27,800. I have named it BULL..because it’s as strong and tough as a bull.. got the OTT tune, BEST MOD EVER!!!! I have 8000 miles, in 5 months, I too just LOVE driving my truck! Yes, I too love the styling of the gen 3..though I’ve seen some really clean nice gen 2’s!!
I like the way you view things. “ There’s always gonna be another thing. I like to try to stay content with the things I have and not long for the things that i don’t have. They’ll make you happy for a time, but they won’t fulfill you. “ excellently put. I really enjoyed the video. I just bought a Tacoma truck and I absolutely love it. Good to know about the serpentine belt though.
Man, first time watching any video of yours. As I watched, I thought to myself, this cat must be a believer. I was not disappointed. Loved the ending!!!! I’m looking at a 2024 Tacoma. Never owned a Tacoma before. Wanted a Toyota pickup back in 1990. I still have an 11 yr old suburban which runs great. I’ll keep arguing in my head!
Looking into getting a Tacoma and came across your video on the hood and bad of the truck & the whole video I was glued and then at the end when you started to read scripture! Just inherited a 2017 SR5 from my father who passed. It’s got 107000 miles but seems to run great. It’s got an eibach lift kit on it and some nice wheels (method 703), with off road tires. I think I’m going to get the girlfriend and the dog in this thing and go see some cool sights in my pops honor.
I love how you always give God the praise in almost all of your videos and acknowledging that your accomplishments was not by your power but God. You have got yourself a sub.
Beautiful message at the end, stumbled upon this video looking for trucks ended up with such a beautiful message at the end. Thank you brother. Glory to god!
Stop the squeaking on that section of your dash. Go to the fabric store and buy piece of felt. Cut small piece and glue them around the holes for the clips. God's blessings.

Well done, good sir. p.s. just so there's no confusion - I'm not referring to the subtle Chevy diss on the topic of engine / transmission issues :P
Absolutely love the video, but my favorite part by far was the ending scripture. Lately I have been slacking on my relationship with God, and you have really reminded me how important it is. Thank you.
Hey Issac, thank you very much for this video. I also have a 2019 Tacoma SR5 and I too want to paint my wheels black. I also wanted to tell you I think that was absolutely awesome how you ended the video by glorifying Jesus and reading His word! Thank you for the encouragement! God bless you!
Thanks for the helpful video! Now, not to give away your exact location, but to share something amusing I realized from the start of the video. When I saw where you were, I immediately thought, "that place looks familiar." Then I saw you driving around and I thought, "those houses look familiar." Combine that with the hoodie, and seeing one of the most annoying intersections in the county, I was able to confirm we live in the same area. Cool to see a local guy making these videos.
i drive to work 70miles one way. currently drive a lowered honda civic del sol, but during winter time it gets pretty sketchy. highly considering a tacoma!!
I remember you young man...I watched your video. I was interested as- Jan 2019 I purchased my 2019 TRD OR Double Cab. I have had zero issues with my truck...the big deal is not the 4 years of ownership, but...I now have just under 250K miles (247 I think) - many of those in 4WD. I wish you continued success!!
Tonka trucks rule! I wish Toyota would hire Tonka designers to mock-up their trucks. There are too many lines and crap. It's a truck, not a perfume bottle.
I had a 2007 Silverado ( cat eye body style) for over eight years and put over 100,000 miles on it and then I went and got a car. I got a Kia which I’ve had no complaints about the car but.. I really really miss having a truck even if I didn’t exactly need one anymore. I just love driving pick ups and I think after I’m done with my car if I can, I would love to get another truck and I was thinking about the Tacoma. I have never had a Toyota in my life. I’ve had Ford and Chevy but but not Toyota. Seems like a really good truck. Made in Texas. Toyota is reliable.
Im 57 now. And it amazes me how um Still growing in GODS will, for me. I would like to warn people about the 07 tacoma, tgere is a plastic tube that runs from the side of the thermostat housing, it runs to the back of the engine between the engine and the intake manifold , then splits in 2, 1 for heater core and a pre warmer for the throtal body. It ran hot 3 times. And its life has been cut short. Please beware Brothers and Sisters GOD Bless All!!!😇😁
i will give you a 15 year tacoma review. 2010--129,000 miles. one set of tires, one set of windshield wipers, one battery, i would still have it but when i was backing up a tree snuck up on me and hit me in the side. 2021----45,000 miles, nothing. so thats 174,000 miles and one set of tires, one set of windshield wipers and one battery. i change the oil about every 8000 miles.
Nice review. I have a 2017 TRD Sport 6 speed Manual, love it. I call it "Putt Putt" because there really isn't that much get up and go with it. I used to own full size trucks before buying my Tacoma, so I guess I shouldn't compare Putt Putt to them.
Hey issac. That story really touched me. Thank you for sharing this. You’re 100% right. We on ourselves are nothing and can do nothing without Christ. But it’s Christ that makes us whole. I’m glad you’ve been healed of your pain. Glory be to Jesus. This is 2nd I love watching your videos. Extremely encouraging and staying dedicated to Jesus and leading others to him, while getting some awesome car/truck content with it. I do need some prayer. I’ve strayed and my heart is really aching at the moment. I feel like I’m not enough and that Jesus won’t heal that spiritual pain I have. I know they’re lies from the enemy, but I haven’t done anything to guard myself from them either. Some prayer would be appreciated. Thanks for your content issac. God is using you truly. Glory be to Jesus. God bless you brother.
Absolutely will be praying Mario, remember there is nothing that we can do that will ever be enough. But HE is enough, Jesus died for you. And once you've made that commitment to Christ nothing can separate you. Just stand firm and continue to walk the path! Read Romans 8:38-39!

I don't care how much social media content they put out with paid engineers saying the 4 is just fine. I don't buy it, and I won't buy their new Tacoma.
Just bought a 2023. Only 36 miles but so far so good. God bless you brother.
That's exciting dude! and Thank you!
Good morning brother Isaac, I loved the review on your Taco, I also have a 2019, 4 cylinder and am quite content with what God has blessed me with. I absolutely loved your beautiful testimony and teared up as I was listening to it. May Jesus continue blessing you in everything. 🙏🏼😊
Thank you Dolores! God has used me in spite of myself so many times. Glad to hear you got a Taco too!
You're a good man. You're using your platform for good and that is why I am subscribing. Also because I love Tacomas. :)
Thank you, I’m doing my best!
I have never seen another RUclips that does so. I had to immediately hit that sun button ! I look forward to seeing your vids 🙏🏽
Love your consistency, been your viewer for 2 years now. Thank you brother.
I have been watching Toyota videos trying to learn more to help with my decision whether or not to purchase one. This is the first one of your videos I have viewd.
After watching this I gotta say,as a Saved Christian I am very proud of you and what you are doing and your message.
Keep up the good works and may GOD BLESS YOU. 🙂
Thank you for the review and the word at the end. I appreciate your testimony.
I’m came to this video because I am researching to buy a Tacoma and the information was very helpful, but as a Christian myself the information at the end was even more impactful! Thank for spreading the gospel and God bless you. I’m glad your prayers were answered and that you were healed!
Thank you for the end message, I was in need of that.
God has a cool way of working those things out
I have a 2020 Off-Road and have zero issues with it, nothing I love my Tacoma I love this channel new here and glad I found you. God bless brother keep up the great work.
Thank you! Will do!
I just bought a 2024 TRD Offroad 6’ bed. I don’t know a ton about Toyotas as I’ve never owned one before, but have always (always) heard the reliability piece. Great ending message.
Turbo charged engines in general never outlast NA motors. But I’m sure Toyota reliability will last a longer than normal
@ there’s plenty of these type vehicles and turbo engines in corporate fleets not just in the USA but all over the world that easily last 260K miles before they just sell/trade them for new vehicles. 🤷🏻♂️
@@appalachhaun_adventures I work for Element Fleet Management as a Vehicle Acquisition Officer we don’t purchase turbo vehicles for any of our fleets we are the #1 Fleet management company in North America
I have a 2005 Tacoma that I use for work. Runs great , has 195k miles, But things keep breaking down and it’s frustrating. (For example my tailgate does close out of no where) so I decided I need a new truck and started looking for 3rd gen Tacomas (something within my budget) man when you said “make sure it’s not something you long for” I felt the Lord speak to me. God bless you brother ! Keep on !
I deal with chronic pain a good pt helps so much. Our pain isn’t without purpose though it makes us more empathetic towards the suffering of others. God bless!!
Awesome vid, bro. I’m also a Christian and really appreciated the ending. It’s a great reminder! The Tacoma is my dream truck, God willing one day soon! I liked and subbed!
Love the testimony!! Just subscribed ! 🙏🏻
I have a prayer request. I pray that you continue to find and share inspiration and gratitude.
I ordered a 2023 Tacoma because of you, it's ariving next month. Cant wait!!!
Good call. I'm so happy with mine. Even tho it's way slower than my last f150.
@@371kenny Wow there is so much unsaid pressure when someone says "I'm buying a $37,000 truck BECAUSE OF YOU" except when it comes to Toyota's, because I stand by them and their reliability.
"There's always another thing." That is correct and very wise thinking. We are always looking for the bigger and better when we are already blessed. I always have to remind myself this.
I really enjoy your channel. You also talked me out of a new truck so thanks. Hahaha I meant that in a good way. I appreciate your honesty. Thanks for all you do!
Thank you for the comment! And support!
Thank you so much for the word that you shared. I will be honest, I clicked on your video because I'm in the market for this truck and your testimony opened my eyes. Thank you so much and God bless you!
Of course Antonio! It is amazing how much God has been able to use this video in peoples lives.
Nice review. Subbed at the end when you shared your message. I'm buying a vehicle in a couple years. Taco is at the top of my list.
I have a 2018 Sr5 and I love it. Just wish i had gotten the 4 door. God bless you and your truck brother.
Watching this again I’m convinced you’re my favorite reviewer on RUclips, based, relatable, and wise. God bless!
Thank you so much! I get told that every so often and it blows my mind, I’m like “little old me?” It truly is an honor!
Thank you! And of course, I wouldn’t be where I am today in any aspect of my life if it weren’t for his grace!
Beautiful message at the end, stumbled upon this video looking for trucks ended up with such a beautiful message at the end. Thank you brother. Glory to god!
Love your 4 year review, glory to the king
I loved the reading today. God bless you brother. Keep up the great work. I needed those versus.
Stop the squeaking on that section of your dash. Go to the fabric store and buy piece of felt. Cut small piece and glue them around the holes for the clips. God's blessings.
Genius!
Great video and I loved your testimony
Thank you!
What a great testimony. Thank you for the ending segment.
My 23 Tacoma TRD Off Road, Double Cab, 6’ bed with the Premium and Technology pkgs is almost a year old, but I have only 7K miles.
I haven’t towed or hauled anything yet.
This summer a few of us are going to go on the BDR, (Washington state Back country Discovery Route, which is an overland route from Oregon to Canada, 575 miles). It’s a 7-10 day trip.
We’ll start slow first going from Malaga to Ellensburg and Ellensburg to North Bend on Forest and Logging Roads.
We’re really looking forward to it.
Good video, i watch until the end 👍
I'm glad that I watched your video. Thumb ups on the ending.
Thank you for the good message. I really needed to hear that today
I love all these comments.
Hoping to get a Tacoma myself someday, currently have a 97 camry(haha).
I drove my first (and only) Tacoma off the lot on May 3, 2013. 270,000 km later it still drives the same.
Love the video! Just wondering where it was filmed? Always looking for new trails
This was Lancaster Pennsylvania
Just came across your video bc I am about to buy a used Tacoma this week. Thank you for not being ashamed of the gospel! You just gained a new subscriber. Amen and God bless.
As the newsboys used to sing 'I'm not ashamed'! Thank you for your kind words. God bless you too!
I just bought a new access cab to get the v6 before it's gone I know the 24s sharp I feel confident getting a 23 was the right move I'm glad to see the Great luck your having with yours
I was watching your video and I did enjoy it and was wondering if I should subscribe to your channel and then you read scripture and that definitely sealed the deal. God bless you young man and keep your videos coming.
Jeez. Watching this cause my husband just purchased a 2020 and we're waiting on it to be delivered. I didn't expect to bawl my eyes out at the end! 😭
Yeah I didn't expect to make it that way when I went out to film!
Thumbs up on the video for the last section. I didn’t know I needed that.
So many people have told me that, that’s how I know it was God! I never would’ve thought of it on my own.
"And the award for Tear Jerker Automotive Review Of the Year goes to........"
Seriously, this is the last video on the planet I expected to get teary-eyed watching. Well done, good sir.
p.s. just so there's no confusion - I'm not referring to the subtle Chevy diss on the topic of engine / transmission issues :P
Haha thank you Allen
Thank you. Needed to hear what you said about the Scripture. I needed to hear that this week. Thank you.
The wonder of RUclips is that God can use a video the day I upload it, a year later or whenever to touch someones heart.
Absolutely love the video, but my favorite part by far was the ending scripture. Lately I have been slacking on my relationship with God, and you have really reminded me how important it is. Thank you.
Amen my brother all Glory and Praise to our Lord JESUS CHRIST Amen.
Thank you for your profession and testimony!
Thanks for sharing the words God laid on your heart. Heard those exact scripture today at church. It still applies today!
Thanks for the helpful video!
Now, not to give away your exact location, but to share something amusing I realized from the start of the video. When I saw where you were, I immediately thought, "that place looks familiar." Then I saw you driving around and I thought, "those houses look
familiar." Combine that with the hoodie, and seeing one of the most annoying intersections in the county, I was able to confirm we live in the same area.
Cool to see a local guy making these videos.
I went to LBC haha
I have a 22 tacoma. It's got 52k miles. No issues at all, except for one time i had an issue with the transfer case but that was my fault.
I stumbled on your channel because of my Tacoma. I’m staying and subscribing for Jesus. Great scripture reading. Words to live by. 🙏
i drive to work 70miles one way. currently drive a lowered honda civic del sol, but during winter time it gets pretty sketchy. highly considering a tacoma!!
Amen! I have a 4runner, a Rav4, and a Bible. So I subscribed!
Thank you! And those are some gnarly miles on the Taco! I'm only about to cruise over 60k in the next couple of days.
Thanks for sharing your experiences and how God has taught you through Scripture.
Tonka trucks rule! I wish Toyota would hire Tonka designers to mock-up their trucks. There are too many lines and crap. It's a truck, not a perfume bottle.
May God bless you and keep you all of your days.
Excellent video. Earned my sub.
Thank you for the testimony, God bless you brother
I had a 2007 Silverado ( cat eye body style) for over eight years and put over 100,000 miles on it and then I went and got a car. I got a Kia which I’ve had no complaints about the car but.. I really really miss having a truck even if I didn’t exactly need one anymore. I just love driving pick ups and I think after I’m done with my car if I can, I would love to get another truck and I was thinking about the Tacoma. I have never had a Toyota in my life. I’ve had Ford and Chevy but but not Toyota. Seems like a really good truck. Made in Texas. Toyota is reliable.
Actually most are made in Mexico…..not American built
@@billseiler4952 oh wow.
Please beware Brothers and Sisters
GOD Bless All!!!😇😁
This dude passes my wholesome inspection
Thank you - This Dude
Not the push it to the limit I was expecting 😂😂
i will give you a 15 year tacoma review. 2010--129,000 miles. one set of tires, one set of windshield wipers, one battery, i would still have it but when i was backing up a tree snuck up on me and hit me in the side. 2021----45,000 miles, nothing. so thats 174,000 miles and one set of tires, one set of windshield wipers and one battery. i change the oil about every 8000 miles.
my update on my 2016 is i got the dreaded Timing cover leak with only 75k miles. The whole engine has to be removed to fix. 20 hours labor, $3400
Wow! I've never even heard of this issue, but even has the title of "dreaded"!
Bought my son a new Texas built 2017 TRD Sport in Quicksand. 130k miles and nothing other than routine maintenance.
Nice review. I have a 2017 TRD Sport 6 speed Manual, love it. I call it "Putt Putt" because there really isn't that much get up and go with it. I used to own full size trucks before buying my Tacoma, so I guess I shouldn't compare Putt Putt to them.
Great review on the Tacoma, but WOW what an awesome testimony and wonderful Christian attitude.
All credit to the Lord!
440k on my 2001. Great vid. Comparison is the thief of joy.
Great videos and great discussion about forgiveness at the end. I just subbed to your channel!
I never knew the dash came off like that & that easy... Maybe that's why it doesn't squeak
Haha touche
My wife and i have owned 4 Toyotas. The last time i saw CEL was our 04 Corolla when it was 2 years old. Never seen a CEL on my 13 Tacoma, my wifes 16 RAV 4 and nothing yet on my 20 Tundra.
12:18 ish. Probably most important info in this video; though the Scripture and Closing is pretty good too! Pretty wise for such a young man!
All glory to God for any wisdom I possess!
