Thanks Mr Mitsubishi. Great useful video. New trickier than 2018 Outlander fuse box and Auxillary battery covering in the Trunk means Mitsubishi don't want you messing with it if you don't know what you are doing. If you are not confident have the local assistance / battery shop / Mitsubishi inspect and attend to battery issues. Very clear about only connecting when source power vehicle is off. Be SAFE everybody.
I am looking at some jump start batteries and one thing I notice is that the cables won’t be long enough to reach the ground and the positive shown. Is there another good ground point you’d recommend? Thanks for the videos too!
Hi, thanks for great info. Though I have few questions. 1. How long 12 volt battery will last if we went for a month or so vacation and it is sitting in garage? 2. Can we put / install a trickle charger in outlander phev 2023? Or 12 volt battery will be charging too with 110 volt charging?
Thanks for this video. I have a new 2023 GT and the 12-volt battery seems to be defective because it won't retain a charge. Another one is on order, but in the meantime I have tried using a booster box to get the car started, and it didn't seem to have enough juice to start the car. It's 1000peak/500crank amps. Is that enough or do I need something stronger? Boosting with another vehicle works just fine.
Sorry to hear you have this issue.. yes, if the booster pack is too weak, you need to get something stronger. Another vehicle is fine too. Just make sure it's not running while you're setting up. Hope you get your replacement battery soon!
First, thank you for all of your excellent and informative videos! Would you please share the part number for the black fuse box cover with all of the attachments? I managed to break mine.
The owners manual says not to use the PHEV to boost another vehicle. I expect it is because there is no negative battery terminal to connect to on the PHEV.
Helpful: Mr.Mitsubishi's videos! Not helpful: Mitsubishi's design to take off that fuse cover. It's already a stressful situation, let's make it even more stressful with that last pin!
Thank you for the details in the video. It's great to see the fuse cover removed, I have struggled with that.
if i need to boost someone else, do i setup the cables on my PHEV the same way as if i were the one being boosted?
Thanks for this video!! Helped me (2023 Outlander PHEV) jump my partner's 2008 Toyota Corolla in a pinch!
Glad it helped!
Thank you! Your instructions were clear and simple. I will make sure to carry a long flathead.

Thank you! Agreed. Mitsubishi wants you to stay away from stuff that they don't want you to mess with.
Great video as always!
Much appreciated! Thank you for watching and commenting!

My 12v battery died after one month. I charged daily, skipped one day, and the 12v was dead.

I'll look that up for you! Sorry for your troubles..
Thanks buddy 👍
My pleasure :)
Can you uses a mobile power supply to jump start the 2023 outlander phev ?
As long as you get enough power out of it, you should be good.
Any reported or observed drive battery degradation on these newer Outlander PHEVs?
So far so good.
Can you charge 12v battery using this terminal?

No, you can't.
Great advice ! ! ! ! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you :)
You forgot to mention that one cannot use Outlander PHEV to jump start other cars, e.g. as a donor vehicle
Yeah, for sure
Did Mitsubishi design or engineering that this car is capable of jump start the gas engine from the EV battery system???
Technically is possible 🤓

That last pin is there to test ones patience limits, that's for sure lol
I dont like that I cant work on my own car with the new batteries thats a deal breaker
I can see that point..
