It’s 3AM, but I refused to give up halfway through and it was worth it for the hammer guy’s comment rebuttal! 😂 Totally worth it! Plus, I’m continually fascinated by the artistry and work that goes into each restoration in real time. Best reason for getting less sleep since I gave birth to my second child 17 yrs ago. 👍🏼❤️
The longer I watch your shows the more I hang out in my closet loving and appreciate my raggedy shoes oh, and going into second hand stores to see what is salvageable. Pretty soon I will be a hoarder. You're a good guy Charlie Brown
As a new convert to Shell, and particularly vintage Shell, I’ve begun to watch care and rejuvenation videos. Yours are by far the best and this full restoration is just incredible to watch. To see something in such a state of disrepair brought back to something that presents as new is just astounding.
What a wonderful way to spend an hour on a Sunday morning, a couple of cups of coffee, and a specially extended episode of "Let's Continue.." Steve, I have to say, you've also inspired me to pay more attention to the quality of the footwear i put on my feet, and the repairability of those in the future. Thank you for that, and the wonderful videos showing us all your skills, and pride in your work.
Absolutely remarkable! Steve, you never cease to amaze. Your skill, work ethic, and attention to the little details, are second to none. Thank you for sharing your passion with all of us. AMAZING WORK!!!
Mr. Bedo, you said the job was a bit of a chore yet you made the task look so easy. I learned a lot. Back in my suit and tie days (1980's) I had two pairs of Lord and Haig Cordavan's both sold for under Two Hundred Dollars each with tax . Once upon a time in NYC one could have a pair of shoes rebuilt for under a Hundred Dollars. I'm still living in the past.
I love watching your videos. They bring back the memories of sitting in my Pop’s workshop when & I was younger & he was still with us. How we grandchildren loved to sit with him & listen to his stories of his own experiences & philosophies. What a craftsman he was. He dyed, waxed & made his own threads, dyes & glues in the days when they were not readily available. He started in the Australian bush high country in 1926 making saddles, harnesses, whips & belts, with shoes later being his sideline. He was working until he passed in 1982. The stories he told were of a time and era we could never imagine as reality as things were so different for someone who grew up to be self sufficient from a young age. Your approach to your craft is as his was ... do it right, do it well once, and you have customers for a lifetime. Thanks for bringing back wonderful memories. It’s often like sitting back in his workshop. Thank you again 💞
I wish we could comment pictures!!! When I was very young (up until 2nd grade) we had a male German Shepherd that looked EXACTLY like your’s!!! I’m a few months shy of 40 FYI. His name was Excalibur and his female was Guinevere! We called him Scal for short. This is a BEAUTIFUL dog...IMO there isn’t a more loyal dog to own!!! What you do is A LOT different! You are truly an artisan!! You’re literally performing an act that requires A LOT of hammering! He could always turn it down 🙄😒
You are an excellent craftsman. I can tell you take great pride in your work and that is refreshing in today's world. Thanks for the educational and entertaining videos, Steve!
So true! I have bought some shoes and now I am rethinking. I will clean them up, resell, and buy some good shoes that are actually worthwhile. Designer doesn't matter; craftsmanship and longevity are much more important. As you said, mass produced goods do not have the same amount of attention to detail that either a bespoke or professionally serviced pair of well built shoes will have.
@@ghaffarglenn4389 I haven't run up on bespoke shoes yet that were still in good enough condition to mess with, being I'm no pro and don't have a decent pro in my area. Bespoke are difficult finds at the best of times. People hang onto those. Another problem is I don't know the names of the really high end stuff. I just go by how they're put together now that I know what to look for. OLD Florsheims aren't usually too bad to find, but I do see the difference in the old and the newer models, the brand isn't what it used to be. I've passed on the last few pairs I've found, even tho technically they were in decent shape, they just didn't compare to the way the old ones were made. What are some good names you've found? My area isn't exactly a place where people wear high end street shoes... though I do pretty well with lace up boots and western boots around here.
Love your videos, and what you do and how you do it. You are a true craftsman, and the way you treat your profession, speaks to your character. Please, continue.
Love your videos! You could easily have a thirty minute t.v. show! You actually teach and keep things interesting with your conversation! Thanks for your time & effort!
OMG! A WHOLE HOUR LONG VIDEO! Thank you Steve! People are excited about the new Marvel movie! I'm excited about watching this tonight!!! ***Orders pizza, gets soda ready...***.
One of your best videos yet Steve. Love watching the dyeing and restoration of the uppers. As usual a Masterful job by America's favorite cobbler....lets continue!!!
Steve, excellent work on both pairs, as always! This video could have been 1.5 hrs if you had shown the corking and also the crack repair at the welt seam...and 2 hrs had you done the sewing on the heal area....and I would have watched every second of it!! I've watched all your videos at least once. My favorite part is when you cut the channel in the sole and recess stitch the welt. Absolute money!!
My Brother-in-law who passed away last year started as a trainee cobbler straight after school at 16. In his early 20's he bought his own shop and run it with my Sister. I never realised the hard work and skill that goes into the job until watching your videos. Obviously his work wasn't as upmarket as yours but he never had a quiet day. Keep up the good work and inspiring others who follow in your mighty footsteps 👞
Watching your "resurrections" is simply amazing - bringing shoes back from the dead. Don't let that go to your head. We'll have to wait to crown you a messiah. Keep up that "loud" hammering, beautiful craftsmanship, and great commentary, as usual. Thanks for sharing it.
Your videos are superb. Very relaxing to watch. And your repair quality and craftsmanship is amazing. I’ve seen it first hand on a pair of Red Wings my brother sent to you for repair from Chicago and they are finally back this week.
Geez...almost speechless! When I get my Bedo's RUclips notification that you posted a new video...a feeling of joy encompasses my body. I'm just amazed every time admiring your craftsmanship! Still have to ask for the customers reaction...that would be priceless! Thank you again for sharing your talents with us. You are truly amazing!
So refreshing to know there are still real craftsmen such as yourself out there performing their art. And art is really what it is. I use to complain how much shoe repair cost - not anymore.
I have bad anxiety, especially at night, and your videos calm me down a lot and are so interesting. I really appreciate you taking the time to make and share them.
I saw 62 minutes and I said "Oh, man!" but I watched every minute of it and enjoyed it all. It was obviously a lot of work to get these back to just as/better than new.
I randomly found your channel a few weeks ago. Since then, I've become a massive fan! Your dedication to quality is astounding and anyone can see how much you care about your work! Keep up the amazing work!
I’m in an Australian viewer. I wear mostly churchs and loake. I’m always very weary of letting anyone here repair my shoes and normally send them back to the UK for repair. After watching your wonderful videos, this one particularly I would happily let you repair them. You’re an artist and craftsman and it was a delight to watch your video on my commute. Look forward to seeing more great work.
Love to watch you work Steve even when it's bad you put your best foot forward that is one thing I really love about your Channel you're one heck of a fine gentleman and you're hard to beat Sir I'm proud to be one of your followers there's no better teacher thank you
Anyone who complains about the cost of shoe repairs should be directed to Bedo's videos to see the amount of labor that goes into it. I never knew how a shoe was constructed. I just bought them and wore them. Now I have a great appreciation of proper shoe construction and repair. I only hope that Steve and other quality artisans in this industry pass on their skills to the next generation so that this does not become a mediocre industry.
They look great!!!! Better than when new, I bet. You are a real pro. You do things right and go the extra mile on your own expense. Your a real good guy! Love watching you work. That is gonna be one happy customer.
I enjoy your videos BECAUSE you enjoy your work. Watching you love your craft makes for fantastic content. I'm excited to see the channel growing. Also, 17min in and I was out like a light last night. Finished watching w my morning coffee. Perfect
Booth pairs came out looking absolutely gorgeous. I particularly line the black pair. Those small details of the blue stitches and brass nails give character. I throughly enjoy watching these videos. I get a small insight into how shoes are repaired and I can really appreciate the craftsmanship and quality of work that goes into them. And the hammer guy needs to grow up.

Steve! What an awesome video! I started my fine (Goodyear welted only) shoe and boot collection! No more 'bargain' dress shoes. Only the best from now on.

I like the sound of the hammer....it's an "honest" sound. It's the sound of a cobbler! End of story..
C'mon, it's just shoe repair, not a religious experience. When I worked heavy construction, they called the hacks either plumbers or shoemakers.
Apple or peach cobbler?🤔
It's fabulous to watch a true master of the craft. You've made it into an art!
