Steve, I love that you always find solutions to whatever problems that transpires. You didn't even need a pattern to cut the leather piece you had to sew on top of the shoe uppers. What you do with leather, my Mom does with fabrics. Most of the clothes she sews doesn't even need patterns for.

I spent over 20 years as a Cold War Soldier in the black boot Army from 1975-1995. I spent countless hours building wax up on the toes of my Cochran Jump Boots. You are correct my friend it is a labor of love to get the perfect mirror shine.

Nice save! Those tears, that's what happens when the leather isn't fed and nourished on a regular basis. That's a LOT of additional structure with the new strap added in. Turned out looking great too. Some of those stitching holes for the welt to be put... looked hogged out and compromised after that gemming gave way. Nicely done without the benefit of a last to work off of. That's the help you get from saving the original pieces to get your references.

Everything about this video was awesome. When you mentioned you were not going to tell the customer about how you repaired the tear, I wondered what if he watches your videos. Well you answered that! Your customers should watch the videos you produce so they can see now you not only repaired their shoes, but upgraded them. It was all in all a fascinating video showing what you take on and what you can do. I wondered about those soles until you mentioned they were JR graffiti soles. I don't like them but if they are a thing, go for it. The customer seemed very pleased as he should have been. You continue to amaze me.

You should run a custom contest, and have people draw up unique designs for shoes on a piece of paper. Then you decide which one is the best. Whatever design wins you go ahead and try to bring their picture to life creating a full custom shoe. That would be super entertaining to me at least :) I know you're super busy though. Just an idea.
