I think people wanting to see more detail and more of your process is a compliment. Not only are you a masterful craftsman, you are skilled at explaining what is going on so people understand the process, and learn a hell of a lot about how shoes are made. Perhaps the most important thing you can do for your profession is change the expectations of the customer. Even going to a local cobbler, a person watching these videos would better know how to talk about what work will be done, and have a better expectation of what it should cost. In the past I have struggled to explain to the local cobblers that I care less about the turn around time and price than I do about the quality of the work. Anyway these videos are great stuff.
So neat to see those trashed Allen Edmonds literally come back to life. One lucky customer, how many shoemakers would tell you they're just beyond repair as they really looked like it!
I marshal at a local golf course and one of our regulars is Louie who is the son of the founder of Bennie's Shoes here in Atlanta. His father came to the United States in the early 1900s from the island of Rhodes and started a shoe repair business which became by far the largest in Atlanta.. Louie's son now runs it.They sell some shoes though the on-line channel has taken most of that business. Louie says that they do sell a lot of shoes to NBA players. If you need a size 21 dress shoe, Bennie's is your store!!
Come on guys,we all if fans of steves work? How about we get so many likes that he believes what we all know- it would be brilliant to have a " restored by Bedo's leatherworks" stamp embossed on the sole of shoes expertly restored by Steve?
After a long and boring day at work it’s great to slouch on the sofa with my feet up, cup of tea in my hand and watch your latest upload. You should have your own TV show!
But it is already his own 'TV' show. Literally. His one. If he was on TV it wouldn't be his show any longer but the show of others. Investors. Broadcasting company owners. CEOs. Executives. Barf! ... This would ruin everything.
I love your videos! I'm probably the only guy in the gym doing his cardio while watching your videos! A true craftsman like you is inspiring! You make me want to do a better job at... EVERYTHING!!!
I never knew about the AE heel base being higher on the inside , another great video presentation ! Thanks for taking the time to explain what and how and why you are doing in your videos !
I liked the Video, and learned something. Next time I go to my local cobbler I'll be able to communicate better with him. Thank you, and the video's Clarity is good.
I love this channel. There is something very satisfying about seeing something of value being restored and I love good leather work (not that I can do it myself but I appreciate quality leather stuff).
I love your videos, and your no-nonsense narration. I have learned so much about your craft, and I love seeing you bring used shoes back to life. You are the ultimate recycler!
I am so very happy for you with your success on RUclips! These vids are very entertaining and relaxing to view. They have a therapeutic quality to them. I check every day for a new video. BRAVO!!!!.....lets continue.
You are insanely skilled. I love watching people who have passion for their craft. I do hand beadwork and I have about 10 of each tool because I can never find them once I set them down. It is better now that my oldest son has left home. He builds robots. My precision tools would come up missing all the time along with my expensive ass glue and adhesives. I don’t think people realize how much skill/dexterity/practice it takes to become the best and you sir are def. the best! My hands also shake from coffee but I can still thread a needle and I won’t ever stop drinking coffee. It’s my go go juice!! I think awesome adults with crazy skills should offer adult camps where we can come learn stuff summer camp style!!
Yes, the video is much sharper and clearer. The upgrade is noticeable and it is much easy to see when you say "see this here?" (I usually shake my head yes and go umhm). The job you did on these mens shoes is, as usual, spectacular. Thank You for posting the lesson on shoe repair of Allen Edmond really worn shoes. You know, Steve, if you were needing work, you won't need work now that you've gone international with your email address... you are a great.
That bevilled edge pattern on the sole is awesome. Looks so much better than walking around on two 90° blocks, lol. It's the attention to detail that people pay for and like!!!
Another awesome video Steve, expecting no less. I want to thank you so much for recrafting my 3 pair of hunting boots. They are absolutely perfect. Fit so much better now and I love them. Keep it up, we love your videos.
Woohoo! Back to hammering! To annoy your neighbour! LOL! The thing that impresses me most about your work ethic is that you would put pride aside to please all your customers. You'll just do what exactly they asked for to make them happy and satisfied.
By the way you got me ordering shoe on eBay, I got a brown pair of Allen Edmonds Byron for $65 shipped. When I get them I’ll go back through your videos and restore the upper. Thanks for the new money pit.
I always think Bedo has no idea why folks want to watch this stuff. I have no idea but I love it so I hope it just keeps on coming. And wait! Did I just hear a RUclips talk about phone numbers and emails? Oh God I'm sorry for what is about to happen.........
STEEEEVE! We missed you! Great to see another work of art accomplished with deft hands. Man, this vlog was PACKED with excellent information - Thank you! Oh, and Hi, embossing machine!
Over a million views ! Wow Steve that’s amazing! That’s how many people that have clicked on a video I think. Sometimes people might watch the same one more than once. I do it all the time.😊 Dude you are a legend in your on lunchtime, you should have way more views! Keep this up and you’ll have more work than you know what to do with.😮👍👍👍
It is all the little touches you put into your work (like the bevel on the soles) that show your love of the work and professionalism! Great video Steve:) ☮:)
Hi Bedo. I've been watching your vids for a long time. I really appreciate good craftsmen and you are so good at your craft. I love watching you create beauty out of old worn out shoes and such. The Bible redo was excellent as well. Thank you sir. I admire what you do. Keith from Naples Fl.
Love your videos Steve, you have a great way of explaining processes and helping people understand the different methods. Hope you continue to make them the way you do so original
Where are you based out of, and have you ever done Ugg Boot restorations? Also, have you ever dipped into making any type of shoe from scratch since you have all of the equipment? I'd think making completely unique designs from exotic leathers and materials would be a great way to make money on top of the restorations. It truly is an art form. Restoring or creating anything is an art form to me. That's why I do the sneaker work on the side. It makes me some extra money but is also a hobby and something that I enjoy doing. That's what I love most about your videos. I can tell you really love what you do and take GREAT pride in it. Right business to be a perfectionist in. Keep those hands lotioned, mine are so dry from the acetone and other various chemicals they're cracking at the bits! lol, I would love to see you switch it up and try to restore a trashed pair of sneakers. There's so many videos out there of sneaker heads. That's a real gold mine if you ask me and you're equipped to handle all of that work as well. Not sure if you're looking to keep expanding your current business and are content or not. I wouldn't mind showing you the ropes of the sneaker game.
Well, I hope you get some kind of benefit (monetarily or otherwise) from likes and messages because that's all I have to give to show my appreciation for your channel!!!!!!!! I did notice something was different but didn't think of what it was. I watch in the middle of the night 'cuz of insomnia. Lack of sleep makes me foggy in the head. All I know is you look great, you sound great, upbeat with great teaching/explanations and your work is FANTASTIC! Enjoyed it! God Bless.
Mighty fine work as always, they look fantastic from this angle. Customers want what they want, in no way should they be disappointed with this restoration. Great job and attention to details. As always-Thanks for sharing! :)
I bought a pair of AE Fifth Avenues off of ebay in relatively the same condition as the Strands in the video. I'll give your cleaning process a try for sure. Great video!
Love the channel, very informative. I do something similar (on the side however) with sneakers. Restoration and customization. Still a big newbie though. Finding a lot of your videos very informative and knowledgeable. Best of luck & great work!
Hey Steve...hope u are well. Bless u and ur family. Sure enjoy watching u and learning from you. Ur mantra of shoes is something I have followed my life. Raised in the military I was taught the importance of my shoes as well as cloths. My dad taught me how to spit-polish his Jump-Boots and I loved doing it. I can still do it and love polishing all 4 pair of my shoes...I’ve had for 20+ years...take care of it, it just might save ur life...? Right? Lol 😝 later sir!

I've watched several of your transformations! It is very inspiring to see someone who puts exceptional quality into their work. Thanks!

I’m just amazed every time I watch one of your videos. Pure American craftsmanship.
Be happier to have a " restored by Bedo's Leatherworks" embossed on the soles, far more exclusive!
I think this is a brilliant idea
same thing crossed my mind , Bedos means quality
I agree, I'd rather have a restored pair with Bedo's stamped on them...! Original Authentic..!
Absolutely, maybe with the you tube video link bellow?
Are you allowed to rebrand a shoe like that? Maybe have a separate embossing under the brand name that says "Restored by Bedo's Leatherworks"?
Love the long videos. The more the merrier. Thanks

Wow!!!Just wow....unbelievable. What a craftsmanship you are. Beautiful.
Great video, very informative, the shoes are drop dead beautiful, considering what they looked like to begin with...
I love your videos, and your no-nonsense narration. I have learned so much about your craft, and I love seeing you bring used shoes back to life. You are the ultimate recycler!
It's a honor to be able to see you work. Greetings from Portugal.
Tiago Alves thank you friend
Steve: I'm the ultimate recycler.
Also Steve: *cuts open bag so it can never be used again*
In all seriousness, great content as always!
Beautiful job!

YOU truly have a gift. I have watched several of your videos and I am amazed at the professionalism of your work.

DUDE! You sir are a true artist!
It is all the little touches you put into your work (like the bevel on the soles) that show your love of the work and professionalism! Great video Steve:) ☮:)

Welcome back Steve!
There’s something seriously wrong with me... I watch your videos because I find them relaxing 😳
Join the club.
It probably because you are able to see an immediate result from the work done.
Me too. Even the hammering. 😉
Claires Knee,
(... or ESPECIALLY the hammering!)
Think we probably all do really.
Mighty fine work as always, they look fantastic from this angle. Customers want what they want, in no way should they be disappointed with this restoration. Great job and attention to details. As always-Thanks for sharing! :)
The owner replied to another comment that he was very pleased and worth the cost involved.
Outstanding! I like the step by step explanations.
Loved every second of it! You Sir are amazing.
