    Did you bring a carry-on? Any issues? Finding it so difficult to find one that is 21" with the wheels

      Hi! Apologies for the delayed response, but I didn't bring any carry on baggage, as they were additional charge. However, i did bring a backpack (personal item) which was enough to contain my gear, clothes, and more!

    hello! thank you for this review video, it helps me get a view of what to expect as im flying with swoop the next month. I have a couple of questions if you dont mind ne asking, i dont bought a seat and i plan to travel with just my personal item, do i have to still go to the checking counter of the airline to get something? i mean i know theres check-in online so if i check online my borading pass is sent to my phone and my seat asigned in there or do i have to go to the counter to get my seat because i didn't buy?
    Im kinda worried about if i have to get in line for the counter to get my seat assigned as im flying previously and my plane lands 2 hours before swoop takes off.

      Thank you for watching Mary, hope you have a good flight on swoop! With no seat selection and baggage to pay you can skip and go straight to security if you have a ticket on your phone. They can also print for you there. It will auto assign a seat during online check-ins! Thanks

      You definitely can (and should)! Swoop has a limited selection of snacks for a fee as I mentioned but feel free to bring some food on board. Cheers!

    Me and my family will be flying swoop in July from Abbotsford to Toronto! Will be our first plane ride! Family of eight got it all booked now, any advice you can give a first time flyer with children would be greatly appreciated! Thanks In advance! So how does check in work?
    Will I get email for paperless check in QR? Or something?
    Do we check the free car seat / booster seat? Or bring on board?
    With infant on lap is it still free to check the car seat under plane?
    How early should we get to airport?
    Flight lands at 10:30 rental place closes at 11 will I have enough time to pick up my rental?
    Should I call rental before I board plane in Abbotsford?
    And call as soon as I land YYZ?

    • @DeltaBravoTango
      @DeltaBravoTango  2 года назад +1

      Thanks for the comment Kyle. Best advice is to arrive extra early to give yourself more time to organize stuff there. You can check in online or at the airport and you can choose to have your boarding pass on your phone or printed by the check in staff. You can find Swoop child seats policy here: help.flyswoop.com/support/solutions/articles/44001822061-what-child-infant-equipment-can-i-bring-on-board-
      I recommend you arrive 2-3 hours before departure to the airport, and as for your rental, I cannot tell you if you're going to reach it in time, but definitely call them before the flight because that time is a little tight.
      Thanks for watching, I hope you have a good journey and take care

    Fantastic trip report Vic! It seems as if Swoop would be good to fly for short trips, but not 3+ hrs. I personally can't survive a trip that long without IFE.

      Thanks Ross! I agree they're good for a budget airline but no ife can get quite frustrating haha

    Avoid flying on Boeing 737 MAX series, Swoop purchased 6 of them in February 2022. These are the planes thatvwere grounded for almost 2 years because of crashing.
    Boeing updated the software on the plane but did not fix the design of the plane which is main problem, if the plane was designed for the new engines from the start, they wouldn't need a software to correct the pitch of the nose at all times. Structural design of the plane remains flawed and therefore to avoid crashing, the plane relies on software to fly properly.
    From a maintenance at one of the major airports I can tell you I wouldn't put my family on a 737 Max plane, we fly frequently, but never on Max series, these planes are still flawed and it's only matter of time before we will see another catastrophe.

    • @tamarab7698
      @tamarab7698 2 года назад

      The software itself is doing a pretty good job, the problem was initially it was relying only on one angle of attack (AoA) sensor which was disastrous because if that sensor was faulty, it would send wrong inputs into the software system.
      Now the system uses both sensors so if one becomes faulty, it relies on the other one. Why it was using input data from just one sensor in the first place is beyond me.

      My point is that this plane was not designed for this new generation of engines.
      When new and larger but more efficient engines were developed, Airbus actually designed new airframe to accommodate the new engines, therefore no need for MCAS system.
      Boeing did nothing, decided to install new engines on old airframe but it wouldn't fit, or it would but wouldn't provide enough ground clearance. So their answer was installing a bracket that put the engines forward and up over the surface of the wing, creating interference in airflow and therefore pitching the nose up, MCAS was installed to mitigate that.
      A well designed and build aircraft will not be reliant on software to keep it level and steady, unless it is a fighter jet but that's a while different topic.
      So Boeing 737 Max8 is never going to be as safe as 737 NG was because it is now flying with engines that aren't fit properly on the plane, the potential for things to go wrong will always be elevated on these machines. Our company signed an agreement that it will not book our flights on Max series when we need to travel.
      I am more than happy to put my family on 737 NG or Airbus machines but never MAX.
      I want to rely on my pilot, not MCAS.
      Cheers! ✌️
