Jeremy and I used to be in school together. He was the only person to which I could speak about our aviation hobby. I remember him always having way much knowledge about it than I did, and he really had the passion to become an ATC controller or Pilot himself. I saw it more as a hobby. Nice to finally see him following his passion ;)
I always like to see Boeing aircraft in action. A lot of the internal parts of that aircraft in the cockpit, engine mounts, landing gear , wing spares, flaps are manufactured at the Boeing factory in Troutdale, Oregon by Internationaal Machinist and Aerospace workers Local 63. I myself was in local 1005 out of the same union hall. I just live about 6 miles west of the Plant. So it always amazes me to see Boeing aircraft around the world knowing that a lot of internal parts are made just east of me in Troutdale, Oregon.
I remember Troutdale It was a nice suburb. I lived in West Slope back in the late 80s to mid '90s. Don't know if you're still living there but type your address into Zillow and then have a heart attack. The house we bought for $50,000 in 1989 Just sold for $399,000.
I had an incredible take off and landing 2 weeks ago and two days ago. It took away my fear of flight completly and enjoyed it so much. The landing with norwegian was butter smooth. Only issue i had was a massive preassure in my head after take off but went quick away again.
There is a pilot shortage as older pilots have retired due to age restrictions. Glad to see we have responsible, intelligent young people to fill their positions.
He looks young, but I can tell he’s a good aviator. He hand flew almost all the way to 9,000 ft. In my mind that says a lot. I understand it’s not a necessity, but it’s good to stay sharp.
Nice video. That noise was the nose tires hitting the runway center line lights. My technique is to offset the nose gear just slightly left or right of the lights. I do that on both the takeoff roll and landing roll. I LUV the MAX!
Great video and good piloting! Isn't it better to say "taxi on runway" instead of "backtrack"? I was taught you only do backtracking when you've landed and have to turn 180degrees to taxi back on runway to apron for instance. Or how?
Looking forward to the release of both TUI 737MAX (Belgium) and TUI 737MAX (The Netherlands). By the way, what is the ETA for the Silk Air 747-400F and 747-8F?
We’ve filmed thousands and thousands of flights in the past 33 years. We have yet to experience one second of terror so not sure I’d agree with your statement there Banana Cake 🍰
I will fly TUI 737 Max from Eindhoven tot Rhodos in 3 weeks. I hope you guys know about the MCAS system. TUI is the only one in Europe who fly 737 Max after the horrors of 2018. If I knew I would have chosen differently.
Excellent video. The perspective that we see at 4:08 makes me wonder why there are no cockpit cams. We have CVR, FDR why not cams? Imagine seeing this perspective following an accident. It will help investigators so much - as it has in many GA accidents because more and more people are filming their flights. So why dont we see them in airliners? My uneducated guess is that ...pilots oppose them. True?
@@CyberSystemOverload there is a bunch of reasons. But one of them is the whole “big brother watching”. Would u want a camera behind u during work? It will influence how u do your job. To “protect” yourself. With the CVR, we already say or avoid saying things just to satisfy what is being recorded. A cam would make it worse. And if we use cockpit cams for accidents, what about incidents? What about accidental violations? Can they pull the tapes to check? Can the employer check up on the employees? We already had an issue with a nutcase FO who demanded the CVR was downloaded cuz the Captain talked to the FO a bit too sternly for the FO’s liking. (The CVR didn’t get downloaded, but u get the idea). There are other reasons. But the toughest one would be if indeed there was an accident. Would u want video out there with the last seconds of the pilots? For the families to find and see? Cuz u know that stuff is gonna find it’s way into the public.
@@rtbrtb_dutchy4183 Oh I see, thanks for the reply. I can see now its a minefield and why there would be opposition to it. Theres no doubt it would help in a crash but I can see now that has to be balanced with how safe flying is vs privacy of the crew.. Also your last point is valid - these days anything gets leaked. Can only imagine if there were HD cockpit cams on the two MAX planes that crashed for example. Nightmare. Good thing is the FDRs of today are so advanced and record so many parameters so theres a good chance that after a serious incident they will reveal what happened.
@@CyberSystemOverload just to be clear, I’d vote safety over privacy for the crew any day. The problem is, the crew is going to act different with a camera which makes it less safe. An example is Asiana Airlines flight 214 in San Fransisco. The Captain was being checked out by a check-airman and because of that (and culture as well) he didn’t initiate a go-around because it would’ve made him look bad. I’m not saying u will see this happen a lot with cams in the cockpit, but crews will act differently cuz they know the cams are watching.
Why do so many pilots have their mics like a millimeter in front of their mouth? It really lowers audio quality for both ATC and Passengers and its really uncomfortable to listen to someone blowing into the mic.
Stabilizer trimm wheel. It mechanically connected to stabilizer so when computer moves stabilizer it also spin wheel. in manual mode pilots turn this wheel to move stab in tail
Why does the Captain taxi? I’ve heard of them doing it traditionally but didn’t realise they still did it or whether it was just the PM that did the taxiing rather than PF, regardless of rank…. Hope that question makes sense! 😆
I wish to see what the captain is actually doing from starting of the jet engine while taking off. It looks like most of steering, buttons and switches handling are manuevered by the copilot.
