    These kind of swords with rainbow pattern along the blade are also found in Arunachal Pradesh where it sells for thousands of dollars. Nowadays it is very rare and has been horded by The Rich and the politicians.

      Interesting. These swords can be found for sale in many western auction houses at quite affordable prices and many museums have examples of them. Sadly most beautiful Asian, West Asian, Middle Eastern and African pieces were brought out of their cultural context and are in western or Russian museums.

    What a beautiful sword! So much to admire on her. Looks like she would be quite the cutter as well. First time I've ever seen a Bhutanese sword. Thanks for sharing!

    I am very impressed with the sword that you have obtained, a beautiful piece. Fun fact: Most of these swords are still passed down from father to son and exist as heirlooms. The swords are still in use, although not in terms of warfare and fighting, they have a more symbolic and ceremonial purpose now.

    Magnificent workmanship, I understand why you often say that these pieces are jewels. With regards to the blade, it seems to be almost mirror-polished, your reflection is visible in it at one point. Is this the level of polish it would have had when it was in use historically? And is it similar with other kinds of swords?

    • @RazmafzarTV
      @RazmafzarTV  4 года назад +2

      Yes Karl these are ploished and a pattern of hair-pin as these blades are called are left. The light conditions in that room were bad. We could not take them to a better place during our analysis. Hair-pin welded steel is a great piece of welded steel.

      Yes, the swords would have been in this level of polish in ancient times since the other swords that have survived till now still have that shine.
