My icon is an image of a temple called Dzong in Bhutan.
Of all the countries I visited, Bhutan had the most peaceful and faithful people.
It is easy for me to imagine that they are not giving bland answers because they are the subjects of a video, but that they are answering from the heart.
Turning to political issues, Bhutan has long been under the protection of neighboring superpower India and is currently undergoing an ongoing territorial invasion by China. There also seems to be persecution of the Nepalese population in the country.
However, compared to other countries, the Bhutanese government has adopted a policy of avoiding unnecessary conflict with others while maintaining its own dignity as part of its policy. The people revere the royal family and are deeply devoted to Buddhism, from children to the elderly. The country is one of the few examples in the world that still fosters a simple and pure spirit, even in this modern age of modernization.
It is a difficult place to visit, both financially and geographically, as the government is very selective about who can visit, but it is still worth a visit.

@@mmorpgfans
In western Bhutan, China has been unilaterally building structures on disputed border areas since 2020. This is a common tactic of China, which aims to expand its territory. In 2017, the Indian military at the request of the Bhutanese government confronted the Chinese military in another region, leading to tense relations.
@@user-zh4rj8nm4x What a simple and naive man. China own the whole Tibet, why do you think we want Bhutan? What do Bhutan get? NO natural resources no population no good land, GDP even less than the company revenue i'm working in. If china really want another country Mongolia is far way before Bhutan in the list.
And do you really think invite Indian military to your country is a good thing? Where is your neighbor Sikkim now? Dose it became a part of China? Think about it again. Don't look at what people say, look at what they do.
If a whole generation is pro-india like you. i can see Bhutan will became a part of India in decades. Such a shame.

I have visited Bhutan and the people in there are awesome, very helpful, cooperative. Love from India.
The fact that there is no country they hate is also related to Bhutan's deep-rooted religion. Buddhism is to attain enlightenment through the practice of the mind, because it is believed that uttering negative words is polluting my soul.
There are a lot of great people in Bhutan but you have a overly romanticised view of their society and Buddhism as a whole. The monarchy in Bhutan expelled hundreds of thousands of Lhotshampas from the country, more than a third of Bhutan's population was ethnically cleansed in the last forty years, Buddhist values did nothing to prevent this genocide.
First time being this early to a gus1thego video, it’s really fascinating to see how Bhutan is like through the lens of your videos, and it’s also insane to see how the people of Bhutan are so friendly and happy, especially the genuine smiles on their faces! @anglohan5428
I was in Hong Kong in1996, the year before control was transferred from GB tio China.
I and many others knew things will become different. Non Cantonese and non Mandarin people were shutting down shops and selling away stuffs cheap. I got a good quality 4 wheeler trolley bag for 30 USD in todays currency.
I also could feel things will turn out different in India with rise of ugly populist hindutva brigades.
And both these countries have proved the world right. While China can still boast of economic and infrastructural development both these countries have failed miserably to understand and appreciate democratic and human rights of their people , particularly ethnic and religious minorities.
Of all the former colonial countries only Singapore has withstood test of time till now. I hope they continue to survive but honestly I have little faith in logeivety of tropical and sub tropical countries
Singapore became success story probably because it is a tiny city state , comparatively easier to manage and administer even with a diverse population and much more importantly it had consistently desisted from travelling the localised populism narrative.
You should do some research on genocide of Nepalese in Bhutan.

One important thing about Bhutan that a lot of people do not know is their ethnic cleansing of hindus in the 1990s. About 125,000 Nepalese speaking hindus, representing 40% of Bhutan's population at that time were forcefully evicted from their home to seek refuge in Nepal. A lot of these have been resettled in the USA, Australia and other countries but few still remain in refugee camps in Nepal. How ironic or a country that discarded its own people is now considered a role model for happiness
The claim about Bhutan’s “ethnic cleansing” is not only oversimplified but deliberately weaponized to undermine a nation striving to preserve its unique cultural identity in a globalized world. Bhutan is a small country with a population smaller than most cities. The measures taken in the 1990s were not a targeted religious purge but an effort to maintain national unity and safeguard its heritage amidst demographic and political challenges. The narrative conveniently ignores that many Lhotshampas chose not to comply with Bhutanese citizenship laws-laws that, by the way, are no stricter than immigration policies in most Western countries that now host the resettled refugees. Are those nations being accused of “ethnic cleansing” for deporting undocumented migrants? Of course not.
Moreover, Bhutan has consistently evolved, promoting policies of inclusivity and reconciliation. It is now celebrated worldwide for its environmental leadership, sustainable development, and the philosophy of Gross National Happiness. Meanwhile, critics cling to decades-old incidents to tarnish a nation that has contributed more to global well-being than most.
So yes, Bhutan’s story isn’t perfect..no nation’s is. But to selectively frame its past without acknowledging its progress is not just unfair..it’s hypocritical.
@@raturattu981my house is near the Bhutanese refugee camp and I have seen the pain in the eyes of everyone there but they still love Bhutan more than any Bhutanese in Bhutan don't look at everything from your perspective we know how bad was ethnic cleansing back then
Bhutan may fool the entire world as a peace country but we have witnessed and are still witnessing their ethnic cleansing
@@raturattu981if you really want to be unbiased why don't you come to nepal and meet some of the Bhutanese refugees and talk with them about how they are surviving and what they think of Bhutan?
Or even you can ask your government on full transparent detail of the ethnic cleansing details
@ Come to Nepal and talk to the refugees.” Sure…While we’re at it, why don’t you invite the Madhesis, Janajatis, or even Dalits in Nepal to share their stories of systemic discrimination and centuries of neglect? Or are you too afraid of the mirror they’ll hold up to your own nation’s failures? And about asking my government for transparency..why don’t you lead by example? Ask your government why those refugees were stuck in camps for decades with no support before the international community stepped in to resettle them. Ask why Nepal hasn’t resolved its own internal conflicts or done more to empower its marginalized communities instead of pointing fingers at others…The truth is, Bhutan’s policies in the 1990s were a difficult chapter, and no one denies that. But Bhutan has moved forward, embracing sustainable development, democracy, and a focus on holistic well being…Meanwhile, Nepal seems stuck in a cycle of political instability, caste-based discrimination, and playing victim when convenient…So save the sanctimony…Bhutan isn’t perfect, but at least we own our past and work toward a better future. Can your country say the same? Didn’t think so.
@@obito_rinneganwhy don't you come to Bhutan and ask the same people of the same origin and even related by blood? Ask them what their ancestors did to our country, their ambitions and motives to what they've planned for their own benefits. Can be said the same with what you viruses are trying to spread. The 'lhotsampas' we call now are part and the same people with the one you claim 'refugee', why not ask these people that are still very veryyyyyyy peacefully living with us together? Why did they not choose to leave? Had they been chased, why aren't they the same people not chased entirely? Why? Why? You people should be ashamed of yourself not us. What you might not know, Bhutan is wholly dependent on India for its defence as well as it's imports, everything from food to basic goods to technological knowledge. Bhutan also has no diplomatic relations with China since it's invasion of tibet in 1950 and the border has been closed.
China didn't invade Tibet. But South Tibet was annexed by India in 1951 and Sikkim was annexed by India in 1975. India is militarily occupying Bhutan.
@@PomegranateChocolate wumao. your propaganda only works in china. It has no effect outside. China invaded Tibet in 1950 and is militarily occupying Xinjiang and Tibet. It should vacate west philippine sea, Tibet immediately.

As the world knows, there are some border difficulties between China and Bhutan, so it would be better if you could avoid such questions for Bhutanese.”
The people of Bhutan seem so polite and cheerful.

You know they are islamophobes, right? Do you know the King of Bhutan doesn't even recognize Islam as a religion?
While they definitely hated the Nepali speaking Hindus of southern Bhutan. 100,000 became refugees for their Nepalese national origin.
Please don't give people the wrong idea if you don't the whole story. There are still people who speak nepali( Lhotshakha) in Bhutan. These are people who chose to stay and are legitimate citizens of bhutan. While the people you are talking about, are the one's who threatened the lives of people living in the southern region of Bhutan. They even killed their own people, when they refused to join them to leave the nation. Get your facts checked

Absolutely Bhutans best friends, I guess few of them said India because they never been there and heard or watch lots of stereotypes.
No No they said they were kidding actually they stayed there Bhutan and India have many Historical Cultural Ties I think you can say in the future with India's growth Bhutan will get the most benefits and might even become next Hong Kong or Singapore however their population is small they need to have atleast a population between 1 million and 2 million.
@@BHARATIYA_TIGER the development of Bhutan only would happen after China liberate it from Indian hand
@@BHARATIYA_TIGER If you know Bhutan and Bhutanese well you will understand that its not kidding. I was also shocked to realize the hatred Bhutanese have towards Indians. And you must understand that gratitude is the option of one who show it and most of the Bhutanese don't show it.

Bhutan is absolutely beautiful . If I ever get a chance to visit any country again I'll visit Bhutan first.
Noticed how a few of the monks said India but was reluctant to speak. So sad since how much India has helped Bhutan from menacing China.
Not at all. For the Bhutanese the most important thing is their country not to become the next Sikkim. Bhutan is militarily occupied by India and this is a very sensitive topic. Bhutan doesn't feel menaced by China at all but feels India has a stranglehold on their country. India, an artificial country that historically didn't exist didn't help Bhutan but instead bully Bhutan.
@@PomegranateChocolateright
They probably didn't understand English...very few monks know good English but most of them just know basic greetings
I have lived in Bhutan for over four years and went to Ugyen Academy school for my studies. However, it's essential to acknowledge that I encountered racism in Bhutan due to my Indian nationality. Many Bhutanese people exhibited prejudice and discrimination towards Indians, and I experienced it firsthand. I believe it's essential to share my experiences, even though some individuals might not have faced similar situations. Addressing and discussing these issues is crucial to promote understanding and work towards a more inclusive and accepting society. I'm Not spreading hate towards any country just sharing from my own experince.
I’m sorry that you felt that way but I don’t think all of them are racism, was there nobody on your side I mean Bhutanese friends???
It feels like all of a sudden bhutnese people went to clean mode. I live in jaigaon, bhutan gate and trust me whenever I went to bhutan i encountered rude people, racism and ya people there are very similar to any other people in the world, not necessarily all but they r also normal people like others who bullies and are even rude.
Leave them alone and they dont want foreigners..
You said it bro, Bhutanese will be the most racist people I have ever came across, especially with dark skinned Indians. I really get pissed off when I see some peoples commenting "Love from India" even without knowing the racist mentality of Bhutanese towards Indians. Even after receiving a lot of financial and infrastructure aide from India I don't want them to be grateful to Indian but minimum respect to us as a person. In our state we treat a street dog better than how Bhutanese treat a dark skinned Indians.
