Just this morning, I was doing the full wrap waterslide method. However, I did mine on a tapered tumbler. Ugh! I agree, the colors on the waterslide are more vivid. The sparkle on the black one really shows wonderfully. But I didn't see the sparkle on the white, until it got around to the letters. I have come to the realization, the seams showing, are inevitable. I'm over that. Lol Thanks for the comparison.🙂💜☃️
Thanks!! Yeah, the Rainbow alcohol ink is a shifting sparkle, so it really shows up best on dark backgrounds, especially out in the sunshine. On a white background, it can’t compete with the sun. It’s much more obvious on light backgrounds when looked at indoors ✨😁
Thank you!! This Hiipoo paper (and also the Sunnyscopa - both on Amazon) hold up pretty well, especially when sealed with 2 layers of clear spray and then a final layer of the Plastidip Glossifier spray. I still manage to tear them sometimes, but they hold up pretty well.
Yes!! Thank you for doing this comparison. I knew I didn't need to invest in a sublimation setup. Thank you, thank you, thank you! You just saved me a bunch of money baby!! I do have one question... If you buy a graphic that was slated for sublimation, will it look as good on a waterslide? Creative Fabrica has sublimation graphics, can I still use them with the waterslides and will they come out as good (like this comparison)? I hope that question came out without sounding like an idiot. Hahaha❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🌈🌠
Thank you! Happy to help folks save a few pennies 😁 Yes, in fact, the graphics I used in this video were specifically listed as for sublimation, as was the Frank N Furter graphic and most of the other graphics I use in my videos - they work on printable vinyl, waterslide, and obviously also on sublimation. So definitely don't rule out any graphic listed specifically for sublimation.
I don't have a sublimation printer yet, so I really appreciated this video. I wonder if it would make much difference doing a light glitter and resin layer first? I'll try it and let you know 🙂
I just ordered the Hiipoo water slide paper because the one I was using was crap and kept tearing on me. Hope it's way better than the one I was using!!
I love watching these comparisons. I have a love hate relationship with my sublimation printer 😂 Honestly, I don’t mind the seam that much on the black water slide. Thank you for another wonderful video
Thank you!! 😁 I’ve come to view seams as somewhat inevitable on full-wrap cups, so … 🤷♀️ I don’t think most people are bothered by them as much as we tumbler makers are since we’re always trying for perfection.
In a previous video (here: ruclips.net/video/AVsVwcyaSlA/видео.html) I did the sublimated version of this graphic. In this video I do a full-wrap waterslide of the same graphic onto a white spray-painted cup. The point was to see which method works better since not everyone is set up to do sublimation.
Good Morning Pretty Lady ☀️🎄your comparison videos just make my day👍🏻☀️🧋I just started with sublimation still on my learning curve road lol 🤣🤪🙃after watching you tutorial I’m gonna have to try a full waterslide wrap🤭😬🤞🏻🤪they intimidate the 💩out of me😬thank you for the comparison video hope your 🐪🐪🐪 Day is Fantabulous ☀️😍❣️
Thank you for this! Now I am certain that I can recreate a sublimation design without shelling out the initial start up costs for the sub equipment -- that's awesome! I honestly prefer the epoxy tumblers over the sub ones anyway. Sublimation feels like cheating to me lol
Love this comparison. I have tons of sublimation tumblers and was always wondering if there was anything else to do with them than just sublimation.. thank you so much for the idea. Question - are the water slide papers clear or white?
Thank you!! The waterslide paper I use is clear, but I do know that white waterslide paper is available. However, I've never used it, and I've heard only complaints from people who have. So that's why I've stayed away in general. It's too bad, because it would solve the problem of needing a light background...
I'd like to see just the lettering of this on like a galaxy cup.. I really like the graphic itself but the want of glittery effects keeps me from loving it completely lol
The waterslide version can absolutely be wrapped around a white glitter tumbler, no problem, so there'd be lots of sparkle. But since this video was comparing waterslide with sublimation, I kept the base cup for both the same plain white 😊 Thanks for your comment!!
I am so glad you posted this!!! I had a lot of sublimation designs that were sold on Etsy, but were listed as Sublimation not water slides. This totally helps me and I am so grateful. ❤️❤️
Oh, you’re very welcome!! It is confusing, but really any graphic listed as sublimation can also work as a waterslide, and sometimes also as a printable vinyl decal.
Can you please tell me whT program you use to make a full slide? I see folkss do it outside of cricut and I just don't know. Lol I feel silly. Thank you!
Sure, I use Inkscape, which is a free program. It's kind of intimidating at first (at least it was for me), but Corinne Blackstone on YT has many excellent videos on using Inkscape to size and print graphics for sublimation, and the same would be true of printing waterslides.
In the final coat of resin? I mixed in a squirt of Marabu Rainbow alcohol ink - it adds a lot of sparkle to any black or dark-colored background. amzn.to/3PfEoOt
These methods are definitely comparable, so if sublimation isn’t an option, definitely consider a full-wrap waterslide. ✨😁✨
❤😂 THE SAYING ON THE CUP GOES WITH THE TIME YOU ARE HAVING WITH THIS. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!❤😂❤❤
Thanks!! Oh, I think that graphic is so perfect for so many situations 🤣🤣
Great comparison ⭐
Plastic Dip is your best friend for these full wraps.
Glad you showed these side by side! I'm going to stick to my waterslide wraps but when people ask I can send them to you for the full comparison now!
Thank you!! 😁😁
Thank-you for sharing and showing. I got my Tumbler press for sublimation now, thanks to you! So here I go and off I go. Love Ya!
Thank you -- that's wonderful! Have fun!!!!😊
They are all beautiful....the black ones are my favorite 💜

I just love the images 😍

This was such an amazing comparison!!! I absolutely love your videos! ♥️

Wow, that waterslide paper seems so much easier to work with!! Mine tears and cracks so easy. Thanks for the video!!

@@Luxinda thank you, found the Plasti Dip at walmart for good price. Will pick up this week.
They turned out great 😊 thanks for sharing 😃
Thank you!!
Thanks for this! Excellent comparison, I'll definitely try full waterslides in the future
Thank you!!
You just saved me sooo much money! I didn't want to invest in a sublimation printer, tumbler press, etc.
Glad to help!!! 😁😁
Can’t wait till I can get one for you with the “F” bomb but can’t right now hubby just had a stroke love them!
Wait, did he have an actual stroke!? If so, I’m so sorry!! I hope he’ll be ok! The cups can wait. Thank you for watching!! 😊
@@Luxinda yes he did, out of work and have to do pt it’s affected his right side

Cool, thanks!
Thank you!😊
I just ordered the Hiipoo water slide paper because the one I was using was crap and kept tearing on me. Hope it's way better than the one I was using!!
I've found that the Hiipoo waterslide paper is thicker and sturdier than any of the ones I've previously used. I absolutely love it!
@@Shadingoftheheart Thank you, I got it today and can't wait to have something to use it on!!
Great job

Is this done on a sublimation tumbler or one that has been sanded and prepped?
