oh men, thanks , I am using Pentium 1, before trying your method I can download 100 bytes of file for about 1 day, and save it to a floppy disk, now , after I tried your methodology I can download it for about 18 hours, men,thats a lot of saved time.

Alright everyone let me explain. So 1 gb of ram is 1024 megabytes. Depending on how much ram you have, multiply your ram in gigabytes (4 for me) by 1024. What ever number you get (4096 for me), multiply THAT by 2. That number is your initial setting and add 1000 to it for your maximum setting.

Ok so physically you have 4096 of ram so how does multiplying that by 2 for initial settings increases it and then adding a 1000 to that for the max size. Because physically you only have 4096

Mine is 6 what do I need to do?
First off - be VERY careful in registry. You can literally break Windows there. Secondly, BACK UP the registry key you modify. This way you can return it to its previous state. "Right-click the key - export" and save it to your desktop or wherever you can easily find it if you need to restore. Third, disabling the prefetch (which is what's being shown) is automatically done on Solid State Drives (Windows 7/8.1). If you have a regular drive, this is usually NOT recommended.
if you have 2GB the final number is 4096 , happy to help the 2GB people! :D .

A simple way is to do this - Say if you have 2 gigs of Ram just double it,so your virtual memory would be 4000. type your min setting 4000 and max 4000
Its an easy a safe way to calculate it.
So someone with 4 gig ram would set the virtual memory to 8000 type your min setting 8000 and max 8000 setting
Thats all there is to it, you dont need to do all these complex stuff I have reading on these posts
Maximum size could be anything. 9192 is for reference only.

@@hajarelmohammadi3541 First of all, he mistakenly put 9192 MB instead of 8192 MB (or 8 GB).
Secondly, that number does not matter at all.
Virtual memory is as the name suggest, virtual memory (a part of your hard disk)
It is extremely slow and cannot substitute for Random Access memory.
So, it is better to have all the settings set at default.
Conclusion: Have at least 8 GB of RAM and 250 GB SSD installed and set virtual memory to the default settings.

Just to give you an idea DDR3 1600 MHz RAM is 12.8 GB/s whereas the traditional 7200 HDDs are 160 MB/s max.

Everyone: This worked great for my computter, and it didn't crash or anything. I'm highly recommend you to do this. You can actually make it a larger number, what it do is that it takes you space and transform it into GB RAM. So use hoe many GB of space you want, to increase your RAM.
CAUTION DO NOT MESS WITH THE VIRTUAL MEMORY
the virtual memory's purpose is to load up everything on your computer by memory and it would also help if it can be increased
but no its impossible
what he is trying to imply is you can use the virtual memory, divide the specific amount to half of it and the rest of the virtual memory can available to other applications to use
but be cautious when doing this
for example my computer runs a lot of software and applications and this needs a lot of virtual memory
it was a mistake to divide it to half the specific amount it needs to run my computer

Yeah sure but it works when i put it in the motherboard. And it works when i dont have the drivers installed to the graphicscard...... all worked befored i updated the graphics drivers.... but i will check when i come home :)

your Minimum and maximum size is based on your free space that available in your hard drive i put it 1 gigabyte minimum and 1.5 gigabyte maximum and thank god it doesn t make any shit my if u have a solwly device format all data on it than install a new windows if it doesn t work looking if u have hardware malfunctioning like ram or whatever according to your device situation

Hey Luke, you should consider upgrading your RAM to 4GB, you won't have to worry about upgrading it for years. And most computers nowadays run 64-bit, so maybe considering upgrading that, as well.

Doesn't make sense to me but it seems his formula is take your Ram size like 16,8 4 or whatever gigs x (1024) to get the first number. Then 2x that number (why?) and that's your initial. Then add 1000 to that for Max.

Initial and final size must be same. He did a typo there but he did say to keep both sizes same. We can hear it from @2:10 that he wants to keep the initial and final size same.
