Different exhaust systems can have an ENORMOUS impact on your motorcycle's performance!

- Not only will different exhaust systems produce different peak horsepower and torque numbers to some degree, but WHERE those peak numbers occur in the RPM range, AND what the curves look like around/ between those peaks, can be WILDLY different from one system to another!
These dramatic changes in power curves also necessitate equally dramatic changes in tuning for each system. Be sure to ALWAYS have your bike retuned if you're changing exhaust systems!
If you'd like our custom ECU mapping for your specific system flashed into your motorcycles ECU, just head over to 2WDW.com. If your motorcycle is NOT listed on our site, then it will need to be tuned in house on our dyno. For pricing and/or to setup an appointment, give us a call or send us an email at support@2wheeldynoworks.com. No matter what bike you have, we are happy to help!
Now I gotta watch the video again. Cuz I like the blue lines in the graph, just don’t remember what you said about it. Notta problem I enjoy the video 👍🏽
I have found just running the stock headers with crossover and a good set of slip ons works best for my 114 and 117 LRS... with a good cam the torque curve is beautiful and no dips
I always recommend your tunes above all others.
Yea that second tune torque dip at 25-35 ion like that
I keep my Dyno sheet from you guys on my wall - NEVER going to forget the malfunctioning fuel pump and it's sad run line 😅
After fixing the pump those lines really changed 😁
what did your lines look like? all jagged and squiggly despite a smoothing factor of 5?
Bikers need to pay more attention to this!
So...
1. Baffles, when designed appropriately, can give better gains?
2. Longer exhaust systems are better?
3. Can modifying the exhaust give reasonable gains even without tuning?
1. Yes
2. No, it depends on your engine if its a screamer or not. (HP that is way above the rpm range should have a short pipe)
3. Yes, changing your exhaust length without changing diameter can give extra performance without any massive tuning
@@zainrei4917 Thanks for the ton of info man. This is great. Followup question about #3.
So if I keep the factory headers, which has long primaries already, and I just do a cat delete and use the same diameter piping but longer piping all the way to the muffler, that will increase performance, right? I am.going for enhancing torque response.
@@ManCannotRide in theory yes, you will get higher torque response and better mileage. Longer pipes have two effects. Either same rpm curve but have higher torque or same torque but it's shifted at low rpm. also having longer exhaust will make your engine hard to breathe at high rpm(i experienced this myself) i put U loop pipe which adds 1 meter of length. On my stock set up i could still rev up to 7k redline but now i can only rev up to 6k(its where stock max rpm of the engine is so its a win since i dont drive always at redline)
Its a chinese economy car 1.5L gas engine. I get 17km per liter on stock and now i get 21km per liter on longer pipe.
@@zainrei4917 Thanks for the reply. Longer exhaust, same diameter, either improves torque response or shifts torque to lower rpm...gotcha. Cheers man.
@@zainrei4917 Do we really need to do a remap after deleting the cat?
Zx4r owner love the tune
How much does header length play into it? Is a longer header always better on Harley's?
0:25 is best overall
Waiting for funds going to change out my exhaust then send in my pos ECU that BT Moto tuned
What’s a good head pipe for a 22 zx10r do I leave that header stock or aftermarket one. For the link pipe and exhaust I’m thinking of going with Race Fit growler X 150m
Thoughts?
The best ZX10R systems, are either the Graves or M4's. Race Fits are Obnoxious, and usually quite down on power/tq vs the longer mufflers.
Prob. Graves from the videos I have seen but I am just an armchair motorcycle dilletante
Since he used an M4 full system on his own personal race bike and showed the power and torque loses with the factory header in place, M4 all the way
