Put big radius pipes on my 2016 softail with 103 high output. I immediately noticed I lost bottom end low rpm power. It used to have an instant hit of stump pulling power at low rpm. Very nice! Sounds like you are well on your way to making it your own! Thanks for your business, we appreciate it. I believe you are going to be well pleased with the 258's in performance increase, and hopefully the sound. 👍
Question regarding exhaust, can a header pipe be welded on the bike, I have a 15 road king with the Vance and hines power duals header, I found a crack on the back of the x pipe, thank you
Hear me out, I'm not being confrontational or claiming to be a know it all. I'd remove the header, get a set of Screaming Eagle gaskets at any dealer for about $10. Part # 17048-98. Or as stated before, disconnect battery, ground thru header, but I'd also unplug the regulator, the ignition control module, and the TSM or TSSM, just to be safe. It doesn't cost anything but 15 minutes of your time. Again, just my humble opinion.
The ventilator Air Cleaner on your 2023 RG is pretty free flowing, but your bike is breathing into your Air Cleaner which is feeding hot oily oxygen depleted air back into your intake. Sounds like you're getting your M8 setup nicely. 👍 Only an External Breather System, like seen in the link below, completely eliminate all hot, oily, oxygen depleted air from going into the combustion chambers. www.dkcustomproducts.com/breather-systems-c21.htm Vented dipsticks and transmission cover vents do NOT take the place of the breathers.
