    Just got a power vision and Bassani RR3 for my M8. Been debating on the external breather. Is Trasks CheckM8 enough or should I vent the breather bolts as well.

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  Год назад

      Sounds like you're getting your M8 setup nicely. 👍
      Only an External Breather System, like seen in the link below, completely eliminate all hot, oily, oxygen depleted air from going into the combustion chambers.
      www.dkcustomproducts.com/breather-systems-c21.htm
      Vented dipsticks and transmission cover vents do NOT take the place of the breathers.
      There is still hot, oily, oxygen depleted air being fed into the intake.
      The folks that sell vented dipsticks and trans cover vents, have it right in their product description that they do not prevent all that crap from going into your intake.
      Here is a copy and paste from the Trask website- "This will reduce the oil exiting from the head breathers..."
      IF you have an older M8, with the older oil pump and you are concerned about sumping...OR, IF you have a built engine with higher compression, then it may be beneficial to do an EBS And a vented dipstick or trans cover vent.

  • @jmaxx73
    @jmaxx73 Год назад +1

    Handcuffed by the Harley warranty as well. I was told the EBS would void my warranty.

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  Год назад

      The only things the HD warranty current voids is using a tuner, towing a trailer, or doing a mod that causes one of their parts to break.
      Look at how the FTC has cracked down on their illegal warranty practices in this video-
      ruclips.net/video/M-QdwkZ3_RQ/видео.html

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  15 дней назад

      You do not need a new tune for your 2021 M8. The M8's do run great from the factory, and still run great after upgrading to a free flowing exhaust and High Flow Air Cleaner. Getting an after market tune would maximize the performance, but is not necessary.

      Will it run a little better with a tune? Yes. However, it is not dangerously lean with the OEM tune. The link above shows the BIG improvement with an Outlaw Air Cleaner, and the relatively small improvement with a tune.

    What is your opinion on the Tab / Zombies? Would they sound good on a 22 Tri Glide Ultra?

    • @FFL-vg9ro
      @FFL-vg9ro Год назад +3

      If you have seen these TABs, they are just a solid metal pipe inside a chrome can. Essentially just a very expensive straight pipe. Probably OK with the stock head pipes and catalytic converter, but may be difficult to tune with open headers without the Thunder torque inserts.

      Hear me out, I'm not being confrontational or claiming to be a know it all. I'd remove the header, get a set of Screaming Eagle gaskets at any dealer for about $10.
      Part # 17048-98.
      Or as stated before, disconnect battery, ground thru header, but I'd also unplug the regulator, the ignition control module, and the TSM or TSSM, just to be safe. It doesn't cost anything but 15 minutes of your time.
      Again, just my humble opinion.

    Do you think I should wait for the first 1k service and then add 2 to 1 exhaust to my 117 M8 or I can do it now it has 179 miles on it.

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  10 месяцев назад

      You can do it now but with a brand new bike, it is a good practice to accumulate a few hundred miles to see if any potential warranty work will be needed.
      Issues often present themselves in the first few hundred miles.
      My recommendation would be to get thru the first service before wrenching on the bike that way they can't blame any loose fasteners, potential issues, etc on the installation of new parts.
