    You make good videos Doc, Thanks...
    On my 2012 StreetGlide, I marked the front and rear connectors on the O2 sensors, at the control box. Then snipped a couple of ty-raps, and the sensor wires came off with the pipes. Then the O2 sensors can be taken off the pipes easily with a regular wrench. Piece of cake.

    Good tip on the HD cone gasket, which I would have known it before I put on this aftermarket header pipe. Discovered this problem when I put this pipe on, I think I am ok though, but it's something to remember for the future.

    When it comes to exhaust gaskets on my aftermarket exhaust, I fought getting a good seal at first. What I’ve figured out to work every time is stacking two Screaming Eagle exhaust gaskets in each head. I’ve done this on several brands of exhaust headers and it seals every time.

    Great video.
    I'm so glad my 2000 doesn't need any of that O2 stuff.
    I thought you were going to discuss hp and torque but this was valuable info for guys with newer bikes.
    Years ago, I heard a TC 88 with long shots and it sounded so sweet. I decided that would be my next modification.
    On my first ride, after I installed the longshots, I instantly noticed a huge loss of low end torque. It just did not pull as strong below 2500 rpm. But it sounded really nice and looked awesome. There seemed to be a bit more power up around 3500 which I seldom used to need.
    A few months later I saw a video that tested several different exhaust systems on the same harley. Lo and behold, the ones that made the most torque at low rpms had a crossover pipe. My Vance and Hines did not have it. So that told me what happened to the torque.
    I don't know how that would affect a newer harley with the O2 sensors but I'm certain a system without a crossover would create a loss of low end torque. Might add some HP way up high but for scooting away from stop signs, I much prefer the greater torque.

    Not to contradict Doc because he is incredibly knowledgeable and trying to help everyone he can, but I found this "method" of cutting the exhaust gasket basically impossible. I was EXTREMELY careful in cutting the gasket, but about 3 cuts in the gasket simply split apart. Now I have to order another set. I'm just going to take my chances and install factory cone gaskets and be as precise as possible in fitment of pipe. I think the key with the exhaust gasket is to install it correctly with a gasket tool so the gasket is perfectly placed to prevent it from bunching up.

      The initial rise to 1300 is normal, HD designed this in the software to help the charging system to charge and run the bike. as for the 4 minutes. That is a long time. I find it odd that air can get into something under pressure, unless its drafting or has some type of venture affect like a carburetor. Usually they want a good exhaust seal so all the hydrocarbons that did not burn can reach the 02 sensor and allow for correct fuel trim adjustments. I could be wrong but I'm not so sure air would be sucked in unless I just don't know the systems and they draft air in from that area or they bottle neck at some point and could create a vacuum at the seal. Any thoughts?

    • @Forzaplayer
      @Forzaplayer 6 лет назад +4

      Its a law of gasses. Gas moving across an opening will create low pressure in that opening. The key is that the gasses are flowing past the opening and not terminating at it. Another thing is that the exhaust traveling in the header does so in waves at the speed of sound that reflect high and low pressures from the end of the pipe all the way through to the intake valve. So there are both high and low pressures in the exhaust pipes and because of their fluid motion, they both contribute to inhaling fresh air into any cracks. Same applies to intake manifold/carburetor leaks.

    • @Forzaplayer
      @Forzaplayer 6 лет назад +4

      It's a part of the venturi theory. Simply demonstrate with a glass of water, straw, air compressor. Blow compressed air across the tip of the straw, not into it and low pressure will suck the water up and out of the straw.

      back in the day with the old Shovel if you had an air leak at the head and pipe connection, usually you would get a back fire when you let off the throttle. That was caused by air being sucked into the pipe just like Doc said. So it could suck in air and cause a problem with the sensor. My opinion

    • @chrisphilhower6029
      @chrisphilhower6029 5 лет назад +1

      I work as an Auto Tech. When checking for exhaust leaks, We cover up the exhaust outlet. Causing Back Pressure. Which forces the exhaust out of the leak. An Eductor would be another way to describe how it works. Same principle when moving water.

I bought the DynoJet Power Vision, but virtually none of the functions I paid for work with my motorcycle, because the 2002 did not have Oxygen Sensors. My question: Can I drill and bung the exhaust headers and install wide band O2 Sensors and is the OEM ECM set up or capable of wiring to the O2 Sensors, since they were not available when the bike was built? Is there a manner or method to solve this nightmare? Otherwise, I have a DynoJet Power Vision that is USELESS which I cannot sell or return for a refund, since it is MARRIED to my bike. HEP ME! HEP ME! None of the Maps/TUNES DynoJet has provided make my bike run smooth. The bike misses, pops, decel pops and surges. Hoping with O2 Sensors installed, the Power Vision can tune the bike. Any ideas? No! Not interested in buying a Newer Harley, I am not a Harley guy. If I am in a group of Harley owners, I will be easy to spot. I used cobra short swept 2 into 2 pipes on my 06 dyna. I did not install new gaskets.
    The pipes fit flawlessly and have no leaks.

    After removing baffles, does bike need to be tuned ?

    • @LowCountryHarleyDavidson
      @LowCountryHarleyDavidson  2 года назад +1

      Need, should, want....it's Your choice. How does the bike run?
      On Pre-Cat exhaust systems, taking the baffles out let's fresh air confuse the O2 sensors. Where are your O2 located? Some owners don't care how the bike runs just want Loud Pipes...Doc

    Can I take out the baffles on a stock fuel injection 2010 soft tail and still run right?

    • @LowCountryHarleyDavidson
      @LowCountryHarleyDavidson  4 года назад +1

      2010 Softail motorcycles have catalytic material (not baffles) which is close to impossible to remove.
