You guys are AWESOME and have my support. The one thing you forgot to mention in this video was your "holiday special". I want you in business for decades to come, let the people know what discounts you're going to offer, let's keep you in the black!
I think this is a really good compromise. Instead of discontinuing bikes we love because of emissions and noise, release them from the factory with an easily removed restriction while saying "oooh no I hope they don't do an easy exhaust swap and tuneeee" Kinda like helmet makers including a second, blacked out visor while saying "oh boy I hope you don't use this on the public roads WINK WINK"
Japanese motrmakers are extremely good at this sort of thing. They did it with cars in the 80-90-00s, that's why they were extremely popular tuning platforms that birthed a whole subculture.
The world needs less hubris-poisoned regulators who believe they understand how the planet works and believe mankind should comply with their innovation-squashing. If today's regulators existed in the early industrial revolution, we'd all still be walking through horse manure on the way to a local store, cooking our food on wood fired stove-tops, and lighting the way with candle wax.
Nate: Keep it coming, sir. Saving my nickels to..finally park replacement ZX-14R in my garage in 2025. Can't WAIT for that thing to be flashed by you with full Hindle exhaust no baffle. Your the mad genius of tuning. Don't stop the passion and knowledge sharing👍
@@exothermal.sprocketThat’s like saying you won’t notice the HP gain from this bike fully tune to a stock MT-09 which would be about a 17HP increase in power. 😂 An ECU flash alone is a HUGE difference for any bike even with minimal gains.
This motor is still begging for cams......... I know that's prob outside the norm of what you do but I'd love to see how this responds to the Vance & Hines MA cams upgrade. This thing will make damn near supersport HP
With the addition of cams, bored tb, squish set, mild beadwork it's well over 100hp on good fuel. Talked to one of the regulars that race motoamerica he was getting rid of his r7 to move to the zook, said was way more room for growth. The only thing bout this bike in stock form she is a porker. Not sure how much it can be lightened without getting really expensive.
We know what those packages create, and we do work like this all the time, BUT it's well above and beyond most folks' budget and technical abilities. Those builds and data surrounding them are also generally done by racers and teams that do not want exact figures shared with their competitors, so that information is rarely shared. What I will say is that pushing well past the 100whp mark on these bikes is VERY easy when you get into swapping out cams, porting the head and adding some squish.
I want cams, head work, and another 1000-2000 RPM so these units can push Duke 790 or 890 levels of power. By the math of David Vizard, an 800cc engine should be able to push another 2-5lb-ft of torque at the wheels, and if peak power is around 10-10.5k with a redline of 11.5-12k, it should push 116-128hp at the wheels based on that range of torque. The only other thing that would make it a perfect motor is if it's as light or lighter than the KTM mill of equal size. Well, that and if they copied the 285-degree firing interval since I find that sound a little more pleasant than even the typical 270.
Guy in my town has the r version. He pulled up next to my 2015 gsxr750 an trying to tell me how much more powerful the 8r is vs the gsxr750. Sounds like a loud ass four-wheeler
Will you guys post the intake mod for the 800de if and when you get it? And is there an instruction vid for removing the ecu for shipping to you guys? Thank you....
I'm not really up to date with bikes these days. I started 16yrs ago on a CBR 250RR (MC19) to a K7 750 , 08 ZX-10, 14' Aprilia RSV4 (track bike still have) and 2008 B-king (still have). These "in-between" bikes never really existed. I notice Suzuki still make 750's and now have a naked GSXS 750. So my honest question to someone who is up to speed with bikes is , why do bikes like this exist ?
Youre actually brain-dead, my guy. Displacement is not a complete metric of power and 17k RPM interstate bandits are a dying breed. Yes, this 2 cylinder makes the same power as a 4 cylinder and is a better bike the entire time it's doing it.
Compared to what? A 1000cc supersport that costs double? Bro this 400 something pounds bike has as much hp as your mom's corolla. Just think about how fast it would take you to your night shift at Mcdonald's.
Thanks for trusting us, giving the intake a true test, and the kind words!
Unreal improvement for an NA engine. Well done.
Extremely talented work 2WDW! Constant development & proven results is a testament to your skills.
Thanks.

Yeah you can drive it stock for a year, then tune it and keep improving it to really connect with the bike. Thats why they are so hard to sell😂

That's a huge improvement...everywhere !
Top end mostly, as the mound of torque in the middle was decreased (which isn't much of a problem).
Keep up the good work and with making these videos! Also more ZX-4RR stuff if possible
Wow, truly makes it a whole different bike. 😮
Small typo in the title, it says These GS8S/R , it's GSX8S/R, might not show in search results for the bike correctly :)
Good catch! Thank you.
Great work! I wish you guys showed more small displacement bikes like a Yamaha R3 or a Ninja 400.
I am going to contact you once I upgrade bikes! Love your channel
Love the videos would just like to see you do a video on the gsx8s with a delkevic full system
I've been waiting to upgrade my 800DE since I got it last year, and it seems it is almost time...
Not sure you'd notice 17 more horsepower and 6 ft-lb more torque. 😆

The rider is normally the biggest weight gain, cut out the candy & head for the gym.😂

The Hindle is a deal with the dollar exchange would cover a some the cost of the other parts.
Is there a difference in gain between the race style sprint filters and the street DNA filters ?

Is this exhaust quieter than Akra and M4?
I have a 06 vfr800 do you know anyone who still has maps for those things. I found a gem with 2200 miles
Anh exhaust and intake mods you would recommend for the Gen 2 Rocket 3?
What are the chances of you tuning a Triumph Tiger 660 Sport? I can't find a ECU flash anywhere.
Top video, as usual.
Can this solution be applied on the 800´s V-Strom?
Thanks.
I would say if it doesn't, it soon will. Same engine I believe....
Absolutely. It's an identical engine and ECU.
@@2wheeldynoworks Thank you.

It's identical to the 8S/R. The entire powerplant is identical.
ECU is in the tail, and shipping instructions are on our site! 2WDW.com
Identical airbox, it's the same part numbers, same engine, same ECU.

Could this intake squeeze into the vstrom 800 or is the frame too different? If so I feel like vstrom 1050 sales might be in trouble... Lol
We haven't tried this specific intake in the Vstrom, so we can't say for certain.
Making 93 wheel horsepower is already more powerful (and less weight) than the 1050.
Probably a no brainer for you but how could you tweak my ecu tune to account for living around 4k ft elevation?

Only matters after 10k

First!
Great job Suzuki. Your 800 makes what a 600 made in 1991. The industry is regressing hard.
Blame euro 5 emissions
The 600 had 2 extra cylinders. So yeah.
Bit of a lame statement, different times, different laws, different type of bike.....
The 1991 gsxr 600 made a whopping 38 ft lbs of torque. Me thinks the 60 ft lbs of this twin kicks the shit out of it.

Even with 30% more it's an underpowered piece of trash
