I'm going to see them for the first time in my life in august. 29 years old. Been listening to their music since i was a child. I can't explain how excited I am 😂
I was very young when this song came out and it a magical experience when I listened to it for the first time. This song and many others totally blew me away. Great memories❤
cool seeing reactions to them now. love this video you put out! I am 32 years old now and this was my favorite band growing up. This song was the last hit they released before they broke up. His lyrics are beautiful and he allows us to follow his struggle growing up. They are back together touring 2024 !!! got my tickets and cant wait !
I wish I could go back and hear Creed again for the first time. It was a surreal experience as a 16-23 year old and it would be even more impactful now.
@@passionsquietragejust saw em live in Charlotte a couple weeks ago. They are doing their “Summer of ‘99” tour with 3 Doors Down. They still sound incredible. And the band was very vibey. Seems that Scott has gotten his shit together finally.
@@kevinexline5392 He's been doing pretty good for a while now from what I've heard, since around 2008-2010ish when they reunited for Full Circle. I might be going to see them when they come here in November since my buddy reserved tickets.
So I was in the military in 2002 basic training. We weren't allowed to listen to music or basically have any quality of life things like that at that time. Pretty sure it's changed since then. But I got on a bus because I injured my leg and had to go to get it looked at and the driver was playing this song. It was the first song I'd heard in over 2 months. It was the most beautiful song I'd ever heard at that point because A) I already liked Creed B) You don't realize how much music means until you literally CANNOT listen to it. It still brings a tear to my eye all these years later thinking back to that moment in time.
@4:08 in the video. You nailed it! ... it's ALL one sound! Beautiful phras-ology you're using. Way-to go girlfriend. I love your commentary/reactions. Cheers!
Scott always sounded like heavy Eddie Vedder and Weathered (album its from), is the the only album where Creed came 99% close to sounding like super heavy Pearl Jam by vocals AND writing. Scott has become an internet meme over the years, I know, but back then when it came out, I listened to it repeatedly. It was something that I never heard anyone to do: replicate Pearl Jam's spirit but sounding like themselves at the same time. Still in my Top 10 of those alternative rock/alt metal albums that came out 2001-2006 during my college years.
This song has a great meaning to me. My best friend since we were 11..Got in an accident we were while out biking. Drunk driver push him in to the barrier. DIXIE i say a prayer every night too you ..we were both 24 at the time ..Im now 56 .This song transports me back to his mums garage .Old man next door asking for perry como ..we thought it was prison slang. Wanted dead or alive dix . . Died on the way to hospital
Ok, if you like Creed, you're gonna love Alter Bridge. It's all the band members of Creed but with an even better vocalist, Myles Kennedy. Go with their live performances, coz they're one of those bands who are even better live than in the studio
Even better singer ? Nah. Love creed and love alter bridge. Scott and Myles are two distinct vocalists. What Stapp can do Myles can’t and vice-Versa. Stapp was incredible at creed’s height and Myles’ finest work for me vocally is pre alter bridge with mayfield four, citizen swing and cosmic dust.
No offense Myles is great, he’s not Scott Stapp, to me Alter Bridge was Creed (literally and figuratively) without the better singer!!! Now that’s just my opinion and it’s subjective but I was a big Doors fan and Scott voice has that Morrison sound!!!
The first time I remember hearing this song was about '02 or '03... somewhere in there. I love this song. It's easily one of my favorites. I would also recommend checking out "My Sacrifice" if you haven't heard it or seen the music video. It's another one of my favorites from them. Everybody talks about the song "Higher", and I love that song, and I've played on guitar while singing it, but there are others that I see as more of a hidden gem. Keep it metal.\m/
Look… they were killer. They were over played but they absolutely cranked out hits. Dudes voice is insane no debate. Same thing happened to Nickel Back
Scott filmed this video just one day after being in a major car crash that left him with a concussion, whiplash, and bulging and smashed disks in his spine.
Cuando esa cancion era reciente yo estaba encerrada en prision en Guadalajara Mexico, la escuchaba y me desgarraba el alma, 22 años despues aun me duelo como si estuviera aun en prision
Lyric Interpretations: I was reading about the Battle of Samar (1944) Lt Commander Robert Copeland addresses the crew of his destroyer escort USS Samuel B. Roberts with these words: “This will be a fight against overwhelming odds from which survival cannot be expected. We will do what damage we can”. Right around this time I heard 'One Last Breath' for the first time. I thought the words "Sad Eyes Follow Me" was 'SAILORS! FOLLOW ME!' Just me - but this song can conjure up images of conflict; in some strange way it fit (for me at least).
@2:50 in the video. You say: "His lyrics are sooo ... together." ...For I concur! I'd like to call it ..."musical lyric syrup for the eardrum" I though I'd mention that because he has a trademark voice like NO OTHER. Rock-on Creed!!
Eu aprendi a tocar guitarra para tocar as músicas do Creed, fez muito sucesso nos 2000, inclusive aqui no Brazil. Considero a música With Arms Wide Open a mais linda da banda.
You probably won’t see this, but you are probably one of the prettiest girls I’ve seen on the planet, and your silly faces make me smile. I don’t mean to be that guy lol, but have a good day.😓
I love that in 2024, Creed is back lol

Watching this reaction from the hospital. Diagnosis is congestive heart failure. Glad to see younger people hearing older music.

Mark Tremonti is one of the most talented and under-rated lead guitarists ever!!!
Seems super down to earth too
This riff in particular is sooo good
guitar players know what's up . he's great!
I agree. One of my personal favorites. Tremonti, Hetfield, Abott, Young
Total beast. Every riff, every time.
One of the best songs ever made.

Creed- was one of my favorite bands growing up
I see she's coming closer and closer to Alter Bridge.
Yes ,please!
No, Burn it down thats the best song from them imo, something happened to him man, no one sings like that without going through something rough.
Broken wings got me started
You mean discount Creed
As she should
This generation needs to get taught about dixie southern rock, Soundgarden, Perl Jam, Pantera, Creed.
Otherwise known as the Grunge bands.
SG and Pearl Jam are from Seattle I thought
@That_Metal_Dude they are, but there is a good amount of southern influence in their rock

Their music was classified as Christian rock

One of my favorite bands when i was young. Oh sweet nostalgia... 🥲
This song is already legendary ❤
Six feet from the edge implies the contemplation of suicide yet people could not understand the mental illness he was dealing with for years.
My favorite from Creed ! You gotta listen to Blackbird from Alter Bridge !! This song will bring you on a Journey for sure.
