This song saved me from attempting suicide years ago. It played on the radio and i thought id take a moment to step back. Good news is my best friend called and asked me to coffee. I unloaded n he said he didnt know, demanded i move in with him till he knew i was a better place
"I'm 6 feet from the edge and I'm thinking maybe 6 feet ain't so far down" has more layers to it than most realize. I used to be annoyed by this song when I was younger but have learned to appreciate the lyrics, vocals, and beautiful music
So many people make the mistake of thinking this is a song about being overwhelmed with life and contemplating suicide... This is a song about the moment when you realize you're about to die, and accepting death, and believing the death is not the end. That's why the bridge says "Sad eyes follow me, but I still believe there's something left for me." The sad eyes following him are the mourners. He's telling them not to get stuck in their grief for him because he believes it is not over for him just because he has died. The whole song hits differently when you listen to it in this context.
The song means what it means to whoever listening to it. Scott said his songs take on different meanings depending on what he is going through at the time.
Oh man I can't imagine hearing this song for the first time (although I commented before I saw that you had heard this before lol). I used to listen to creed all the time growing up, loved them a lot. Replayed their CD(s) over and over.
Lost my husband in 2018 to a sudden thing at age 46 and this year...I was diagnosed with cancer. So sometimes I feel like maybe this is my 'chance to join him', but other times I feel like I'm not ready, so I keep going to treatments and dealing with the side effects. But it's hard...
This is a REALLY old MGK song but you should definitely react to “Story Of The Stairs” from his General Admission album. It’s really intense and makes the line “I swear, I've been telling you over and over again in all of these songs” from Don’t Let Me Go really hit hard.
I have always loved Creed. I wish Scott Stapp wasn't going through such awful addictions and mental health issues during their popular time. They could've made more music and (maybe) still be together now. Scott has such an amazing voice. I am so happy for him that he got sober and has stayed sober. He has been making solo music now. They had so many songs that had very "Christian" like meanings.
Loved it. Please react to Zayn’s new song Alienated. Apparently he wrote it 6 years ago. He was the first to leave one direction. Would love to hear your perspective.
