Floral designer here 🙋♀️ Girl, you gotta take the leaves off the bottom of those flower stems! Any leaves that will end up inside the vase touching water go rancid quickly. Detritis will turn the water and cause the rest of your flowers die more quickly. Just a tip to keep your blooms lasting longer, and your water from getting smelly! - Ellen
Thank you for the tip! I have always wondered why my flower water starts smelling so rancid! Now I know, thanks!!
You can use a floral putty (green) to help hold your flower frog to the container you are using. It's waterproof and you need just a little bit. It adds extra security that your flower won't knock the vase over.
The jewelry is always my first attraction. Turquoise. Turquoise. Turquoise! Really enjoy your channel.
I immediately thought "bird"... it looks like a dove! LOVE the sand cast ring!
Floral Clay is a knead-to-soften, gummy, reversible sticking agent; works great for adhering floral frogs and is absolutely removable,. It holds just fine for as long as you want it to, but it is not a permanent bond or glue that will devalue the vase/arranging dish or mess up a flower frog. Super fun shopping trip! Thanks for taking us along XO
I remember using the floral clay and frogs when I was a kid. I couldn’t remember what it was called though.
Your "turquoise" bracelet with the large oval stone is chrysacolla, also called Parrot's Wing. It's a beautiful stone, usually a combination of several different minerals - turquoise, malachite, jasper, azurite. I designed a quilt around a piece I bought at the yearly gem and mineral show a few years back.
Chrysacolla is a favorite stone of mine! I thought the same thing, but IDK much about the different kinds of turquoise.
Doesn’t matter to me what you purchase, how much, etc…I simply enjoy “the hunt,” learning about these beautiful mid-century pieces - what to look for, pay attention to, markings…🤷🏽♀️🥰you’ve made me rethink my whole home aesthetic!
Looks like you and Michelle had a wonderful day. I wish I got a better look at that gold dress Michelle bought - it looked stunning. You got so many beautiful things, but that teeny, tiny flower frog was so perfect!
My sister in law died early 20 and she had a leather tooled purse from Mexico in 91.I was gifted it when she died.I put it in a glass case like a flag goes in.I love it
Michelle is a very lucky lady to have you as a friend. Laura, you are a wonderful and beautiful person, inside and out. And you have an impeccable taste! I always look forward to watching your videos ! God bless you and your family always!
The hat looks so great on you
All your hats are cool. Love what you do. Wish you put out daily videos
After watching ur flower arranging, I want to find some "frogs" n give it a go! Never ever thought of even attempting it, but thanks to u...i think i can, i think i can, i know i can, i can!!!!
Maybe someone has already commented on the moon shape metal flower frog ……here I go
The little tab on it fits into a small moon shape frog to make a round frog ….3-1 frog.
Love your channel.
I love that you give us addresses for the shops especially for those of us love in Oregon. I agree with you about metal frogs and I pick them up whenever I find them especially at prices you found. I also use them in groupings to hold small cards on my bookshelves.
Would have loved to see Michele's dress. The fabric looks gorgeous and the color is lovely too.
She’s going to do some hemming to it so maybe I can get a peek at it when it’s done to show how it turned out 😄
@@leftcoastrevivals Thank you. From the quick glance I got, the fabric looked stunning,
Your shows just keep getting better & better!!
The sterling silver cuff with the large turquoise stone was magnificent
I love all the little shops and your Goodwill stores are so much better than the ones we have here in the south. I absolutely love all your turquoise . I'm trying to get a collection going. Thanks for all the information you give us.
Wonderful antique stores! I could spend hours and hours perusing in them! Thanks for taking us along.
I look forward to your shop visits, I learn so much. I mainly love your enthusiasm when you find the "it" thing. That unusual green pot that didn't have a signature was a favorite. The texture on the green pot just did it for me. Maybe you could show Michelle in her gold dress in your next video!
Keep doing you!💗
It sure was a neat pot!
I absolutely loved the sandcastle polar bear sterling ring. Gorgeous!
I was always wondering what the weighted spiky things were when I would see them at estate sales. Now I know thanks to you. They give the flower arrangement a really cool look in some great pottery. Thanks for sharing this Laura.
Oh, man... I wanna go to Oregon... even with all that damn heat.
Best antique shops ever.
its unusual weather never that hot its always perfect
@@carollacoste532 been watching the news & it's just awful to see so many people sick due to heat exhaustion in the northwest. I've been praying for people like crazy. My bestie moved to Idaho, my cousins are in Washington and Oregon. I've visited and absolutely loved it up there. But Laura finds the best stuff & I just want to spend 2 wks thrifting up there. If only I had the time and money.
I just moved to the Oregon coast from San Diego and the antique stores and thrift stores are awesome!!
I just discovered Ikebana last month at a garage sale. Someone had this weird looking abstract vase with four spouts on it for $1.00. No markings or signatures on it - just remnants of a sticker on the bottom. Something told me to grab it even though I didn't know if it was old or modern. For just a buck, I had nothing to lose. Well, I ended up selling it on Etsy for $125 within two hours of listing it!!! Like you said, you learn something new every day!
Thats wonderful! Congrats on such a great find 🙌
@@leftcoastrevivals Thank you, Laura. After it sold so quickly I did more research on it and I probably could have sold it for more than the $125 but, hey...live and learn, right? On another note, I'm just watching you show your new silver and turquoise jewelry. Would you mind, in a future video, telling your viewers how to tell real turquoise from fake? Sometimes I see stones that are polished smooth (like on that big bracelet) and I always wonder, "Is that real turquoise?"
Thanks for putting out such great content, Laura! I very much look forward to your videos. I live in Salem and am in the thrift stores a lot. I hope I get the pleasure of bumping into you sometime. I can tell that you're a very sweet and friendly human being!
@@ryders_mom I asked her to do a video on turquoise once too. I hope she does!
That beautiful piece of jewelry with the purple stone looks very Scottish to me, it’s absolutely gorgeous!
Laura, loved seeing those fabulous mid century lamps with those incredible shades, and the Heywood Wakefield furniture. Also the shot of those gorgeous poppies was a delight, as was the furiously typing kitty 😻😆 Your videos are always so professional and full of treasures! 👍🌟🐈🌻
I love how you type out the names of the places and addresses. I go back in the video to take screen shots of ones I want, to save for my future visits. I live in central California so trips up would be fairly easy. Thank you for that!
That lamp with blue glass……❤️
I can’t stop thinking about it 💙💙💙
The little glasses are Swanky Swigs! They are from the 1930’s through the 1950’s. Kraft made processed cheese and used these for the packaging.
My absolute favorite thing was the cobalt blue and wood lamp!! There were some awesome lamps in the mid-century antique store I instantly fell in love with- the ENTIRE store actually! lol! Thanks again for sharing! (Love your nail color btw!!!❤❤❤😊)
You have the gift of discerning, what goes well together. Love your choices of items. Look forward to your video’s 🥰
The cat on the laptop with typing sound effects made me laugh out loud. Thanks for taking us on another adventure. You are just delightful! Xo
I live in a condo and was watching this Laura vid after 2AM; when the typing cat came on it caught me off guard and I must have wakened the entire building with my laughing!

Thanks for sharing ,Laura. You make me look at vintage in a new way.
Loving all your beautiful "Eye Candy" you found in your silver/turquoise jewelry finds! You Rock as always!
Thanks for joining us Michelle.... I love it when we get to hang out with both of you
P.s. Laura remember to check your Messenger on FB.... I left you a message
Hi Laura, great finds. Yes, was thinking that the sterling silver pendant looked like a dove. 🕊🕊🕊
the mid century dinner set it was like stars oh my to die for design and colors
Stunning jewelry! Yes, I can see the bird:)
I have a high school friend who has lived in Aurora for years. His wife owns Time after Time. Beautiful little town
Love the MCM store !!! I wish we had one here in Ohio . I see pieces on and off but to have an entire store that sells that is wonderful !!! I think I would spend all day shopping !!!
Are you far from Canton, Ohio? There’s a store I’ve always wanted to visit called Main Street Modern.
I really love when you show up. I love how you are a maximalist but don’t over stuff vases! You have such a gift and you are a little ray of sunshine on an otherwise very rainy week in OK. (I hear the PNW is getting unusually hot weather. Stay cool… in every way! 😎) ha
That was fun! The pottery and flowers look stunning! Love the Amethyst Cross, gorgeous piece. 💚✌️🍀
I agree, that amethyst cross was designed perfectly!
I could just watch you thrift all day!
ETA: looooooove those earrings you have on in the car. Gorgeous!
Thank you! New from my jewelry estate buy 😄
Been lookin' for u to show up... Love goin' with you shopping.. You find the coolest things-thanks.... granny franny
You never cease to amaze me. You have such an inspirational spirit. Keep up the good work and I’m sure you will be rewarded.
Love the turquoise! And the baby frog‼️🌻
I loved the wood and brass lamp. Gorgeous
Love the light fixture with the blue glass. It's stunning. I'm on a business trip today but took a minute to stop by a thrift shop. I got a 70s era green wavy glass bowl (mass produced but still really cool) for 50 cents!
Laura out of all the thrifters and pickers I watch you are my absolute favorite! Thanks for all the great content you have taught me so much. You have the best taste and style.
💓💓💓 this episode! Loved all the stores! Agree with you about shopping in antique stores to learn about vintage. Hope you're staying cool. Be well.
This was so much fun! Thanks for taking us along. So many geeat things, 11:32 & 15:45 were two of my faves. Thanks for the bonus Japanese flower arranging at the end, I'm inspired!🌺🌹🥀
Laura, the more i see your video's, the more I just love you! You explain things so well, like the plant frogs and placing the flowers! The way you decorate is so phenomenal! I like traditional and the dark cherry and walnut woods, but now i'm just loving the teak and medium colored woods. so much that i'm thinking to do my kitchen cabinets! Keep up the great work girl!
Thanks so much Kim!! ❤️❤️❤️😘
I've just discovered You!! I want to go thrifting soooo badly, but I must sit at my desk working. I'm learning so much from you!
I'm crazy about bunny items and glad you're not so more for me!
Hi Laura and friend, L you look good in the panama hat and even your mask is so stylish, one of a kind like you. What a nice idea to arrange your small trinket pieces with some jewelry, a nice arrangement for the eye. Thank you for sharing some ideas with us at home.
Yea road trip with Michele. The jewelry pieces are amazing! And your hat looks lovely on you 👍🏻
Super fun! Love the jewelry. Thanks for sharing!
Another great video..you are a natural...I been staying away from thrifting and antiquing I need to sell what I have at my Yard Sale coming up next month..I need to thin out my hoard...LOL
Laura, My mother had the identical pin from Jerusalem. She got the last time were were there. I'm sure my brother took it..before she was even gone. I've never seen another one it till you showed the one you got!! Makes me sad!!! Love your hat💜
Wow great find for the flower holder. I love the idea. Thanks Laura. Have fun
The listing you shared said “dove pendant”. Thanks for sharing your outing and finds!
Love how your flowers look in the pots now! Super find and really like the turquoise jewellery xx
I remember that my Mom bought
pimento cheese in those little glasses.
OMG! Those rugs behind the sofa. Just gorgeous. Thanks for taking us along on your trips!
The blue lamp you mentioned loving for your new home was my favorite Laura! ❤
I loved the flower frog lesson. Thanks. My favourite find was the trinket box. I have so many as well - it may be a problem!! Also, you found some stunning jewellery. Love it all.
Omg i need to look for inserts for my pots. Thank you so much for sharing sis. We appericate sis. You make my day every time i watch your videos sis. Love you sis. 💖❤💖❤💖❤💖❤💖❤💖❤
Those A&C Salt and Flour pieces...and that green vase that you were drawn to!
It’s definitely a bird! All that jewelry is so great! The turquoise is really stunning. All the antique stores were a real treat to visit. My daughter lives in Calgary, Canada and we are planning a road trip down through there when the border opens! Fun, fun and more fun!! Thanks Laura!!
I love all your videos and the inspiring pieces and eclectic styles you find! An idea for a video- the ins and outs of estate sale shopping. How to find them? What to look for? Finding deals? What’s worth splurging? Those jewelry pieces you picked up are incredible 😍
Luv shopping with you. You are soo sweet & kind & have a great personality. And ur a fabulous decorator. Have a great week.🌻🌻🌻
Beautiful flower arrangements!! I was anxiously waiting for ur video to come out!!! Yay!! 😀
From one Laura to another......great shopping trip!!! Love your video mix of shopping, haul, and showing the items in use!
I love the happy vibes that come from you and Michelle! My favourite find, after the ginormous turquoise cuff, of course, is the ikebana plant holders! I never knew how to use those, now I do! Fabulous 💖
Love the SWANKY SWIG glasses! Also, my mom loved to make floral arrangements and I just inherited her flower frog collection. She only used the heavy metal frogs, but always secured them with floral putty (clay?) so the flowers would fall over.
Aurora! Yes! So many treasures to be found. Eye candy galore. Thanks for taking us along.
Thanks for joining us ☺️
Omg the blue globe lamp 🤗!
Thanks for bringing us along while you find great treasures. Your videos are very informative and I am learning a lot. Thanks for sharing.
Im so obsessed with your channel!!!! 🙌🏽
Thank you for demonstrating how the pieces are used in the vase - never heard of them until today.
Timeless antiques and collectibles took my breath away. Omg heaven
What a wonderful thing it is to go shopping and have lunch with a great friend!!! Love the video! You and Michelle are so blessed to have each other❤️❤️🙏🙏
So many goodies so little time😱 Thanks for taking us along. My husband has several large silver belt buckles so I fell in love with the belt buckle❤️🌹
I see a fish🦘🐨❤️wow the jewellery stunning 😘
So many beauties today, Laura! I especially loved the little bear earrings you showed right at the end. Gorgeous!
It’s best to use florist’s clay to hold the frogs in place, not glue.
The Franciscan Starburst dishes were what I grew up eating in every day. My mom gave the set to my niece.
Hello Laura. I love your style and your channel. It's so much fun shopping along with you.
TFS
I could live in that store. Great fun! Thanks for taking us along.
YESSS!! Night is officially made! Love watching your thrifting videos!!
Awesome turquoise jewelry. Your collection is very beautiful
Love the jewelry! The Franciscan Starburst dinnerware was what both my mom & grandmother had when I was growing up. I think my mom used hers until the 80’s. Now the two sets are boxed up in the garage for me & my daughter. ❤️
Hi Laura! Just a thought, you can secure your flower frogs in the bottom of the pottery by using florist’s tape placed in a crosswise way! Or, you could use wax-like putty under the frog to secure it to the bottom of the dish/planter!! 😊💕
Laura your jewelry is absolutely gorgeous. Which is something I would never ever be able to afford but I do love looking at it!
I see the bird. I absolutely love to listen to you describe items. You have such a way with words, I swear you could sell anything!
Wow, you're in my neck of the woods! So many shops and goodies and eye candy as far as the eyes can see! Always come home with something!
I love love love the amethyst Jerusalem cross pendant!
That giant turquoise cuff is unreal
Loved the lamp with the bright blue glass.
I would buy some plastic inserts for your lovely pots, so the water doesn't damage them, especially the older ones and cracks them. Amazon probably has them for cheap. Love your channel.
Great episode! You look great in hats! Loved the flower arranging.
Thank you for the tutorial on using the frogs. I always wondered about that. That turquoise cuff is amazing. That stone makes me think of a opal. Beautiful.
I live in Sheridan. It is so nice to have your videos in my area. I now am planning a trip to Aurora.
You are right about being a perpetual student. I am always learning too. Your videos are literally part of my self styled curriculum. Thank you.
Oh wonderful that you are local! Tell the girls at 3 daisies I say hi if you stop by 😄❤️
I love Aurora! Your husband must love the varied changes you make in your house after each of your shopping trips!
