- Ping S159 wedge review is now live this week. I love the new, classic look Ping gave these wedges with minimal offset and a slightly squared off toe. The wedges feel soft and produce a lot of spin. New H & B grinds offer versatility and great turf interaction.

I think aesthetically, these are a huge upgrade over the glide 4.0 wedges. I've played 2 rounds with them and I love how these frame the ball. The minimal offset and overall profile these have is such a good look. The glide 4.0s were probably the most durable wedges I've ever played so I'm assuming these will last a nice long while as well. Excited to play more rounds with them.
I play the Glide 4.0's. Went for a fitting for these and the numbers were either the same or slightly better. Just not enough to make the change this year. Thanks for the review.
If your wedges are in good shape, keep em!
thanks! and happy birthday, will the qi10 tour fairway reviews be coming soon?
So frustrating that the H grind is on backorder till 4/30!! Come on Ping!
I got one at pga tour superstore so maybe check your local place (PGA, golf galaxy, etc.)
@@rickarpin8282nothing locally in Minneapolis unfortunately
Happy belated! How is the leading edge v the glide 4 - the S159 have less offset and sharper leading edge. Would you compare the 'B' grind to the Mizzy 'X' grind? Ping says the 'B' is for square face shots - did you find that you can open the face and play shots? Any heel grind vs the 'B' grind - differences? Thanks for the info/review :)
I feel like the S159 is SLIGHTLY more straight than the 4.0. The Mizuno X grind has a little more relief on the trailing edge than the B grind. The sole on the B is wider and the leading edge will raise up when you open the face. If you play soft and lush conditions it might not be a problem but firm and tight you might want to go with a different option.
Happy belated birthday
Thank you!
Would like to try a 54 wide grind👌🏻
Def worth trying if you are looking for new wedges this year
Is the H grind similar to the vokey D grind? Grind looks similar
I would say more M
