Too polite to mention the London 2012 design.
ikr
I kinda liked it, but that might just be nostalgia
It was a great design. It is bold, and inspires athletes to do their best. I don’t like the pictograms though… the lines don’t look great
@@thatesc well the lines are only in the 'dynamic' version of the icons which were only used in promotional material (simplified versions were used for the actual games) Also, the lines are meant to reference the London Underground maps, so that's cool
LOL
Mexico 1968 logo was simple, elegant and modern, you can see all the work behind the concept.
Not my favorite, even though I'm mexican
Wooow
My favorite
‘puke’
it hurts my eyes but i can see how it could be appealing for others
The Beijing 2008 logo oozed simplicity, athletic essence, and the Olympic spirit! It also reminds me of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games for the Wii. The Vancouver 2010 logo gives me feels for that year and for Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games.
yeah lol I grew up playing that game and everytime i see that Vancouver logo it makes me think of playing that game with my friends lol
Ok… China has nothing to do with mario
Omg i grew up playing those 2 games on Wii too! Hahahaha i loved it very much
Rio's Olympic Logo blowed out my mind when I saw it the first time. Just marvelous...
*blew
mmmm i dont think so
It's alright, i prefer the Barcelona one, which seems pretty simple, but the way it evokes the Miro's paintings (Spanish painter) while at the same time showing a person jumping is amazing.
the Rio logo is one of my personal favorites
@@SerAbiotico rio logo writes the name of the city, have the colors of the country, the famous landscape of rio, the olimpc spirit of union and has a 3D form. Its just perfect.
Mexico 68 is just remarkable
Oh yeah. That was my favorite, and also the 2024 Paris Olympics
@@myIGbin24h That logo is also great
@@rodrigosanchezrodriguez2484 yes but Mexico is just the most unique.
@@myIGbin24h Yes, it is iconic
@@myIGbin24h The first proposal or the final design? I really dislike the new one (the golden circle that looks like a beauty salon logo).
The Mexico symbol is so timeless. I like the Sydney one too. Salt Lake’s symbol looks so dated, very 70s or 80s.
I personally think Salt Lake is the coolest one. Really caught my attention the first time I saw it
@@TusharSundarka same here, salt lake was extremely attractive
The Los Angeles Olympics (1984) logo is definitely dated for sure.
Sydney, Mexico, Barcelona and Rio are my faves!
Mexico 68 is one of the best logos in the Olympics history... I admire Lance Wyman!
The Mexico 68 logo was not designed by Lance Wyman. It was designed by Pedro Ramirez Vazquez. Lance Wyman was given everything done to "clean it up." I have watched videos where Wyman is going around talking about the Mexico 68 logo as if it was him who came up with the concept. Also, it was Ramirez who said the rings would perfectly inside the 68.
Mexico's logo is arguably the most iconic and beautiful symbol of the Olympics period.
I'm also Mexican, but Nagano's is cool too
Salt Lake is also pretty badass
@@vladimirhernandez8696 Why did you reply to yourself
Athens and Rio logo are indeed iconic
they didn't mention that Rio's spells out Rio, which is a simple detail that makes it perfect.
I love the simplicity of Mexico 1968
I got started to get into logo design because of my curiosity of the olympic logos. Simply powerful and truly timeless.
My favorite ones:
1. Rio 2016
2. Beijing 2008
3. Athens 2004
Sydney
@@robspunk
Yeah! I also like it!
i love mexico 68 because it is unique
I always loved the Logos for the Olympics. This is a cool video
NGL, on literally every front in can think of, Beijing 2008 just ACED it! Truly remarkable. And my favorite Olympics so far. Rio and Mexico were gorgeous too.
I’ve always loved Mexico’s logo
The story of Barcelona Olympics logo is amazing! The best designs are always the simplest ones.
I remember 2 logos coming on my heart, Mexico City 1968 and Barcelona 1992, all be mine favourites, i respecting to the Atlanta 1996 and Athens 2004 logos, Beijing 2008, other world and culture.
Rio 2016 is my fav.
The rock sculpture used for the Vancouver 2010 logo is called an inuksuk
It was mentioned in the video
Seoul 1988 Looks So Unique
#1 Rio 2016 #2 Sydney 2000 #3 Beijing 2008 #4 Barcelona 92 #5 Athens 2004 my top five
My favorites: Mexico, Rio, LA 84, Athens, Pyeongchang, Barcelona, Munich, Vancouver and Nagano.
Why do they have separate logos for the city candidacy and the actual games? Many of the candidacy logos are better than the final ones for the games.
Marketing
unpopular opinion, but I really like sochi's logo..
very simple (that also makes it very standout among the rest) and you can really tell that it is a winter game just by looking at the logo, no need fancy artwork.. Love it
Wait, Nagano is home of fireworks? I believe Beijing Olympics and whole China history have some thoughts about that.
I love rio, london, and salt lake logo
Didn't know that these logos has so much story behind it, and it's so wonderfull
Incredible that you didn’t discuss the London 2012 logo which was extremely controversial when it was first launched but which ultimately worked very well.
They didn't mention Sydney's either, nor other cities.
It still looks bad
They mentioned Salt Lake 2002 and Vancouver 2010, but skipped Turin 2006
The best logos are the ones that have distinct individual symbolizing elements that when put together collectively form another symbol.
1:00 The World Tonight Anchors Transforms Into A Mascots Of 2008 Beijing Games
Los fuwa son muy originales y tiernos.
and Pyeongchang logo means Korean alphabet.
Seoul 1988
El logo de Seúl 88 es maravilloso y muy bien pensado.
I like Nagano one.. and i like Candidate City of Tokyo design than the official one.. the one with big circle and colourful sakura..
Hopefully we can see the full process uploaded soon
I loved Sydeny 2000 Logo
El logo de Sídney es excelente. 👌 👌👌
I love Rio's Olympics logo, it screams Brazil (I'm brszilian), simplicity and sportive spirit
Too much sophistication
@@Carcaravoawhat about the logo is sophisticated?
@@itsnathan9131 3D, design exclusive in apk and materials...
as an artist this made me drool by my eyes
Tokyo and rio is symbol is so beautiful from all others
Athens 2004 is the only one close to what Olympic Games was from ancient times
The Mexico 68 logo was not designed by Lance Wyman. It was designed by Pedro Ramirez Vazquez. Lance Wyman was given everything done to "clean it up." I have watched videos where Wyman is going around talking about the Mexico 68 logo as if it was him who came up with the concept. Also, it was Ramirez who said the rings would perfectly inside the 68. Wyman is a fraud.
Lovely insight into the design process. No mention of Sydney 2000 though? Easily the best one!
I agree!
Barcelona e Rio de Janeiro!!!!
Sarajevo '84 was unique and realy good
I’m a sucker for logos so these are all great to me I specially like the Nagano 1998.
i like 2018 pyeongchang olympics logo
Paris 2024: let’s make Karen
i like beijing 2008 logo.
I love the Barcelona logo
Well i love the Beijing, Tokyo, and Sochi!
And then there’s Paris 2024 which had the best and most creative design as a candidate city and went to the worst an ugliest design as a host city…
Lance Wyman design for Mexico 68 has been the best so far. So disruptive, innovative, creative. The worst... Sochi. Lol, what was that lack of effort? Terrible.
Ironically, they are both designed for the same person xD
I'm missing the story about the Munich Logo 1972
mexicans in the comment section (i am mexican lol) be like: Mexico 68 logo is the best, such a timeless logo, my favorite logo, brasilians in the comment section: Rio 2016 is my favorite, such a fun logo, so much colorful, my favorite and the best one!
Claro kskskkskzksnsb tem q puxar a sardinha pro nosso lado
Rio 2016 & tokyo 2020 are my favourites
We love Olympics...😍😍😍😍😍
Like
Paris 2024 is by far my favorite one. They should have used goldleaf and parisian atchitecture as color / texture theme IMO.
We must agree that 2012 logo was kinda funny...
I like what they chose for the Vancouver 2010 logo. They chose an inuksuk, an aboriginal rock sculpture. An inuksuk is basically the same thing as a totem pole but made of piled up rocks
Social Studies Tho
I Like Rio 2016
Sochi ".ru" logo would be perfect during the y2k era (late 90s-early 00s), but not in 2014
6:30 this one looks so satisfying
I think the Salt Lake City emblem also looks like a torch, which is a symbol of the Olympics
My favs would be Nagano, Athens, Vancouver and Tokyo 2020, so Iconic, and versatile.
Beautiful logos olympics is athens olympics games 2004
Mexico, Montreal, Beijing are the top three
How about the logos of Tokyo 2020? Oh, that Paris 2024 logo?
Anyone else thinks that the Paris 2024 logo could’ve been much better
I love the olympics. Hopefully they come back to Australia one day!
choose melbourne and you've got it.
Stephen Houltham If the olympics were in Melbourne it would be even better
Melbourne bid for 1996. I have their bid books. It'll be Melbourne vs Brisbane in the domestic race.
Congratulations! Brisbane 2032
Congrats for Brisbane 2032! 🎉🇦🇺
Is there any classic logos more old than 1968's design? I'm just curious for other old olympic logos especially on early 20 century :D
Dily Pratiwi the Olympics dates so the way back to 1896 so they date all the way back to then.
Yes.
Before Tokyo 1964, the logos tended to be a bit fussy and overly pictorial.
Vancouver 2010 😀
Greece, Home of the Olympics.🇬🇷
In Nagano I see 6 People fighting and their shadows.
THE LONDON 2012 LOGO IS AWESOME
I like the ones like London and Mexico which didn't just use a little picture. London seemed ugly at first but worked well as an overall branding package.
I hope we all agree Paris 2024 looks like a barbershop logo
i Like fuwa
Not to mention Munich 1972
Torino 2006
London 2012 is my favourite
I like the logo of the 2014 Olympics in Sochi.
Los Angeles is a good one
they should get bolt to light a cemeremonial torch
I always thought the Rio 2016 logo was two eggs and now I realized it's three people
Nagano 1998 is so underrated
UPLOAD THE FULL TOKYO 2020 CLOSING CEREMONY B3STIEE 😂😭😭
😍
Vancouver and Beijing nailed it; simple, distinct, tied closely to the host country. Salt Lake and Sochi are confused messes.
Not enough people are talking about the Atlanta 1996 logo
Sydney 2000 - human boomerang and opera house flame
Moscow-80 is the best!
Mexico 68 logo the best
No one talked about THAT london 2012 logo xD
Está bonito de México
Omg all of you are actually pretending that you aren't just here for online school
Edit: im only joking lol
Montréal 76 still the best to me 🤣
México I love you is Amazing
