Good looking kits there! I think you'll find the ride looks much better once you get the electronics and battery installed. The Sendero HD was my first crawler and I've become a big fan of the Element platform. The shocks are great, the rigs are light & quiet, nice overdrive from the factory stealthx transmission, and nice steering angle out of the box. I went with the Northwest Scaler Designs Element rails for my truck (partly because he's local to me and supports our local comp scene). It's amazing what some geometry improvements can do for overall performance and composure. Looking forward to this series and your driving impressions of these chassis kits 👍. About to build my second Element, first from scratch on a G-Speed V3 chassis. And I realized if I get a transmission I have so many parts I could build one of these Artful Dodger kits. My daughters Gatekeeper has some of the Artful dodger bits on it and have performed great. I’m just wondering if spending the little extra and get a Phoenix straight axle kit and this for more performance or should I stay with the Elements for my third build. 🤔
So, if I have this right... out of the $250 kit you kept the shocks, the links, and the transmission? Seems like you could have gotten some other shocks separately, same with links, and then used the Vanquish 3-gear transmission. Then add that fancy frame rail kit and go from there.
I keep trying to give up my new bright body's, and full size Chevy body's with light kits, and shoe goo. Everyone has done cut down powerwagons, and the creep body's, and cliffhanger body.... Ugh having a good looking grill just gets in the way. It's hard to give up scale appearing looks over performance. maybe I will just cut up a stampede 53 Chevy body, as long as I don't screw up and get the panel so I can airbrush something cool on the side.
On the artful Dodger kit is that a lay down servo? I saw a pan hard kit on there website and it looks like that kit comes with a lay down chassis servo set up. Is that the case?

To build from scratch or to modify an RTR or existing truck. That is the question. Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, or to take arms against a sea of troubles, and, by opposing, end them? (I may have read that somewhere.) I say if you aren’t going to use any existing electronics, then it it is better to start with a kit. Otherwise I think it is easier and faster to modify an already built truck. why would you bothering buying the kit when your only using 3 parts of it? In fact why even mention it really? And obviously most of your builds are way out of range for us especially since you get almost everything for free... thanks for being on the same level as the rest of us that actually have to pay for our stuff.

I understand that I get a lot of things for free, which is the result of thousands of hours building and filming content for hobbyists like yourself to watch and hopefully entertain you. Sometimes I'm going to show you things that might not be practical, but will inspire you to think outside the box. A lot of my builds focus on budgets, especially the budget build off series, so I am very mindful of the fact that this hobby can be expensive.
Wow I literally just put together the builders kit 2 the other day. Loved the whole build but my god those yellow gear box gears! I almost gave up on the whole thing as it was near impossible to get the screws into them even with loads of grease. I mangled a bunch of the screws trying to get them in, ended up drilling them out and dremeled the screws holes larger to get what screws I had left over into them... ugh.
I put the same kit together last month, same exact complaint. I ended up stripping one of the small screws but luckily it was in enough it cleared everything in the gearbox. Send a complaint to ELelemnet, they should never have cheaped out and stopped including the aluminum gears from the BK 1

IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO MENTION THE BODY AND WHERE YOU GOT IT SOME WHERE IN THE VIDEO. I'M NOT COMPLAINING, JUST A THOUGHT FOR YOUR FUTURE VIDEO'S. I'M WORKING ON A MINI ROBOT DRIVER WITH FULL ARTICULATION, AND NO SEAMS AT THE JOINT'S. I'M TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO MAKE HIM STEP OUT OF MY TRUCK, WALK AROUND, AND GET BACK ON HIS OWN WITH OUT USING TRACKS. IT WILL BE PROGRAMMED TO MY RADIO, OR A PRE PROGAM SETTING. I DON'T HAVE A COMPUTER. I DON'T LIKE THEM, BUT I CAN USE MY DAUGHTER'S TO SEND YOU A VIDEO WHEN I'M DONE WITH IT. LOVE YOUR SCALE BUILD VIDEO'S. THANK YOU.
There's more videos coming.
why would you bothering buying the kit when your only using 3 parts of it? In fact why even mention it really? Just buy some links, the trans and whatever seperate or even use aftermarket parts... sometimes you make no sense. And obviously most of your builds are way out of range for us especially since you get almost everything for free... thanks for being on the same level as the rest of us that actually have to pay for our stuff.
Thanks for watching and I appreciate your comment.
@@maritimezombie7684Well it's good to know it wasn't just me suffering with these damned things too. I will certainly get in contact with Element about them. It caused me so much frustration and it ruined one of my allen tools in the process. Its all great once its together mind you but damn, they must be using one of the hardest plastics known to man for those things!
@@AlvarezAzel mine will never be taken apart, im just happy I installed the overdrive first thing like I wanted.
I like the content of the channel. I even tune into the live events when I can. So I'm a fan of dune beetles, but not of the Sandworms of Arrakis. That's a long stretch for a Dune joke just to say. "I 100% got click baited by that sweet sweet bug body." Still a good video and entertaining to watch and hope you use that beetle body for this build.
