      couldn't they offset each block by the thickness of one rod and put rods from each block next ot each other on the a custom crankshaft? Then change the timing of one of the head by 90 degrees. That would allow them to keep the heads and camshaft stock. Why do you think it wasn't done this way? Or am I getting something wrong, geometrically?

    • @phateracing

      @@PuerRidcullyif they had kept a flat plane crank they could have, but the new crank is crossplane.

    • @rogertallon
      @rogertallon 4 дня назад +2

      @@PuerRidcully it's easier to screw the blocks on a plan surface than cut it the right way and weld. Plus they wanted to avoid lubrication of the crankshaft. So they made it with ball bearing.

One set of pistons is running and keeping the engine turning over that’s why the other side is blowing flames. You will also probably be way better off running two separate distributors.

      It would be easier than this, it wouldnt take much just deck the blocks 1/4" each and add 1/4" plate with bolts on each side and then bolt them together on the outside... Basically each block would be one half a crank case and the adaptor just a flange to allow you to bolt them together around the outside .. put together like a VW.. not bad idea.... It might be easier to do it with a push rod engine because you can flip one block over and then use the same camshaft to drive full of sets of pushrods? Lol 😂

    You guys are pure engineering geniuses, regular mechanics could come up with these ideas but I doubt there's many at all who could achieve the end results you do, especially this time, this is amazing.
