I guess there are a lot of things people SHOULD never do. That might affect how much work I get, though.

What will happen if it’s not removed? Could you try putting baby oil on cotton ball (method used to eliminate earwax) and place in ear in the hopes it draws out the end of cotton swab?

Can you please 😢 explain how this can ever happen? Has this happened before? I'm hearing it for the 1st time but you being a doc should know

    • @auburnmedicalgroup

He stuck a Q-tip in his ear. He pulled it out. There was white stuff in the hole after he pulled it out. The force of friction between the cotton and his ear canal was greater then the adhesive strength between the cotton and the shaft of the Q-Tip.

Use over-the counter earwax removal kits or, if you have intact eardrums, gentle irrigation with warm water and hydrogen peroxide. If you don't know if you eardrum is intact, see a doctor. If these techniques don't work, and an instrument needs to be inserted in the ear, see a doctor.

@@auburnmedicalgroup If it is not in too deep normal tweezers can get it out. I had to do this once before. Just like you did here the key is to go slow or you risk tearing the cotton tip. Then I made sure the entire tip was out by comparing it to another one.
