- Competitive Pokemon Singles has not been kind to Slaking.
The ability "Truant" is extremely exploitable, causing Slaking to be inactive every other turn.
However, the players BluesEnergy and ABR have proven that Slaking might just be better than we all thought in Gen 3 OU.

I hope that the next time you show off the great ape, you properly represent him. Slaking has no shame for its truant ability and his "wasted" turns. It's actually a power play; a mind game ability. You ought to show a few pivotal moments of his underappreciated ability, as it is terrifying to be on the recieving end of a Pokemon voluntarily burning its turn and knowing it will still win the game. Slacking wants us to trust him, because he is really the work-life balance ape. I hope to see a slacking only tournament from you someday.

That first clip of a Machop OHKOing a Slaking is actually insane. It's perfect for showcasing its weakness. Also a great transition into it.
Briefly after gen 3 was released people thought slaking would dominate the tier. Everything and their mother ran Protect, Skarmory ran full phys def, people were deathly afraid of Hyper Beam of all things...

Slaking is probably at its best in gen 3, but Truant is still a HUGE drawback. So it's good but takes an experienced player to get the most out of it.

The best way to do this is by using the Jubilife Village shops, as there you can buy actual food! But what would Slaking like?
Most of Slaking's dex entries mention it absolutely LOVES grass and the closest to that is Hearty Grains.
If his Trainer decides to cook it, Slaking enjoys himself a nice toast. A toast to victory!

10:20 I am pretty sure that marowak wont sweep no matter what. max hp regirock always survives one attack and can then kill with explosion
Yeah, only way Marowak could even win in that position is with a crit. And even after getting past Regirock there's still the Slaking who can also survive a hit and has a 43.8% chance to oneshot the Marowak with return (assuming adamant and not jolly Slaking)
Hope it wasn't pokedollars. Can't even buy a hyper potion with that.
