@@ethanbaker3844 He has a video about it, but tldr lead tatsugiri and a perish song user, switch to dondozo and then tatsugiri dies while in the mouth, letting dondozo keep the omni-boost with another Pokémon able to be sent out. Flamigo swaps in and gets dondozo’s buffs too thanks to the costar ability. Profit.

No seriously, legendaries don't really matter that much when the opponent's support just turns them off, that's why status moves are so important, they basically control the game
He builds great with less than conventional mons- Eggy (exeggutor) and Delcatty can attest to this (although weezing is a good margin ahead of those two imo)

Physical EVs on flutter mane are completely useful and totally what he meant to do. Don't question Wolfey's genious EV spreads, he thinks them through all the time and makes NO MISTAKES EVER. He did that TOTALLY on purpose.

I love how Wolfey spends time talking about how Wheezing can be used to prevent Tornadus Tailwind due to cancelling its ability, then proceeds to let Tornadus set up Tailwind in many matches

Well, he let it happen when it didn’t really matter. And the battle that starts a little after the one hour mark is a brilliant example of it.
Wolfey trolling Pokémon tournaments is something, but the funny part is the fact that he might still win while trolling everyone.
Trolling is optimal lmao. And not just him, 2nd and 3rd place were running Amoongus so disruption seems pretty good right now.
He got 2nd in a Nugget Bridge tourny with Normalize lock, featuring Haunter and Delcatty.

No, this isn't quite Yugioh-style. Yugioh style is 'good luck getting a turn', this is 'you get all your turns, good luck doing anything with them'.

I used to play a digital tcg called shadowverse. Runecraft had a deck type , dimension shift, in which if they drew well at turn 5 you'd basically just watch them play by themselves, zero interaction with your cards, for a full minute then get 3 turns in a row to either mob you or one shot you depending on the sub variation . In non ranked matches I just started quiting out if it looked like they had their key peices.

Talk about it. I was a gen 1 player then I stopped playing when gen 2 and so forth. I tried to play a few months ago only to see those turn 1 decks oof.

Came looking for this comment, was not disappointed. Wolfey built the whole strategy around Weezing, so those plays were to be expected, but this one - this was thought up on the fly, and it paid off massively

What its not even really off-meta. It was insanely strong in sword and shield and wheezing regigas was a common duo. If anything, people haven't used it much because it wasn't usable until recently. I hate how so many of these videos are wolfey pretending to change the game up and just using normal shit people are spamming on ladder already then the comment section praising him for being so "inventive"
@@AlmostMeantToBemeta in this context means pokemon that has a high usage rate during the current regulation, weezing currently sits at a 2% usage rate. So, yes, it's off meta.

Weezing isn't crazy strong without work, he just got some easy wins when you could just delete Slow Start to have an untiered Pokemon jump up to proper Ubers one.

The turn at 1:10:33 is the literal perfect example of your Weezing strat, and it's so fun to watch. Wiped out 2 mons before even taking a single hit. This is seriously such a good video, I love how when you get it right, it just completely stuns them. I wish more people did these kind of 'troll' strats at Worlds or stuff, this is the unique content I love from Wolfey.
EDIT: AND YOU GOT THE WIN, THAT'S THE WORLD CHAMP DIFFERENCE BABYYYY!!! Dude let's go, that was awesome, repeating what I said earlier in my comment, but that was super fun to watch. This is why I've gotten into VGC (not playing, but watching and learning the game), there's room for alternate, interesting playstyles, it's not "pick best gun/car/whatever, and win" like most things. And with something as bad as Weezing, that's super cool.
You can really see how Wolfey's commentating chops are coming into his videos. I love it!
I love it when he's mostly concentrating on thinking, but then the cards get revealed on the last turn and suddenly he switches to professional commentating.

Neutralizing Gas could be fun with an Ability Shield mon. Pair your power to shut abilities off with the ability to keep a strong ability and you're looking rather well off. It might not be the most powerful strategy but it does seem fun.

Weezing + Roaring moon is a combo we've already seen a lot this regulation, and it made top cut at regionals. So it isnt really something new that he created, he just kinda took a strategy and used it

Stuff like this is why i love pokemon so much. Bringing a pokemon like Weezing, building an entire team around it, and maximizing its unique strengths to capitalize on a bunch of opportunities you normally couldnt possibly get away with is just so cool.

Incineroar is the charizard of competitive battle. Whenever somebody sees it, they say “oh, great, another one,” but they also use it themselves.
There are two pokemon i flat out refuse to use in competitive: incineroar and amoongus. I long for the day those two are both gone from a format

Play singles where roaring mid gets banned to Ubers and incineroar is nonexistent. That fckin cat is one of the reasons I gave up doubles along with unlucky rock slide flinched.

Watching Urshifu not be able to break the meta as it has, is amazing. Urshifu counters walls with guaranteed crits, breaks protects with unseen fist, and breaks sashs with 3 hit Surging strikes. I hate Urshifu. I remember seeing Neutralizing gas Weezing at one of these regionals and I was cheering every match.

Watching this video has me crave a modern pokemon stadium game and they hire Wolfey to be the voice actor for the announcer. So much enthusiasm and energy for the twists and turns of battles.
It's good to know that Weezing shuts down abilities in the main game just as good as it does in the card game.
Weezing shutting down abilities is also the reason I play tcg. My first game was hilarious.
I used this exact 6 but Ability Shield Lando instead of scarf at Sacramento regs and went 6-3. Glad to see Wolfe doing the Weezing 6 justice 💪💪

The reason I like wolfy so much is that his team is always different from everyone elses. Like everyone else brought rillaboom, tornadus, arcanine, urshifu, etc. Its the same team on repeat from everyone. Only wolfy has the knowledge and the guts to try different teams.

Wolfed is like a Pokémon, if it has a chance to miss it will miss three times in a row and get knocked out by a crit. But he has the ability absolute legend which means he never misses!

I actually like Scyther with eviolite as a tailwind setter. Ive had a few times where even facing niche teams like lycanrock and tyranitar, it survived the 4x weakness and provided conteol

It always surprises me how good this guy is at Pokémon. World champ difference, I suppose.
I prefer slaking in this mix up being able to dragon Tera gives me so many resistances as well as either running band or assault vest pretty much makes it super hard to switch into due to his vast move pool options and in lower ranks I was running focus punch
He probably didn't play it cause its not that flexible, I at least haven't had a great time with it, since like the Regigas Teams in Gen 8 your Slaking becomes pretty bad without the Weezing, I mean at least the weezing isn't as bad without the Slaking as it was back then, idk have only played a couple of games with that Combo so I may be wrong

This is a great idea for a team! I was actually thinking of doing something similar with its Galarian counterpart! It's real good to know that Paradox mons aren't affected
And then it got nerfed, well not nerfed since the abilities working under gas was a bug, no more paradox boosts with weezing.

This was a very exciting video. I dont typically watch tournaments because everyone uses the same like 12 pokemon roughly. Having someone else coming in really changed things up.
I want to see a tournament where in the preview phase of each others teams, you both get your 4 Pokémon determined randomly. I think it'd be interesting to see how the meta would change when you can't counter pick and need to have basically any combination of 4 be reliable enough. Wouldn't be drastic, but would be entertaining
Wolfey would be such a fun caster. I hope that at an official event if he's ever not playing we'll get to hear him on the mic for a few games :)
