    • @prismatic_pulse
      @prismatic_pulse Месяц назад +17

      @@keysmash_roa This is because attacks without secondary effects do not get boosted by Sheer Force, but they'll still receive the damage boost from the Life Orb. In this example Earthquake receives only the 1.3x boost from the Life Orb. However, if Earthquake _did_ have a secondary effect to negate, it would receive the 1.3x boost from both Sheer Force and the Life Orb.
      My guess is that Sheer Force treats the Life Orb recoil as the move's effect, therefore negating it.

    • @latbil
      @latbil Месяц назад +8

      @@prismatic_pulsebut even that doesn’t quite explain it, as if Life Orb was treated as a secondary effect universally, you would never take any Life Orb recoil w/ a Sheer Force pokemon, even using a move like earthquake.
      It’s like the game only negates the life orb recoil if it can bundle up the Life Orb damage with an ACTUAL secondary effect, in which case it negates both. Still, that may not be exactly what’s happening under the hood - it’s just SUCH a weird interaction (it may well be a bug)

    Kudos for not going into the drama surrounding a certain player in this tournament. He's a pretty young guy who believed in and shared some pretty fucked up worldviews, but has later apologized and seemed pretty remorseful about it all. As you said, the mental game kinda goes when you worry about what people are talking about you online and, in fairness, enough people have shared the drama as is. We don't need to get deeper into all of that, especially since the aforementioned player has since taken a step back from competitions and seems to genuinely seek to improve, not as a trainer, but as a person.
    Trans rights are human rights, if a mushroom can win a regional you can do anything you set your mind to!

    • @finnsnow2495
      @finnsnow2495 28 дней назад +2

      I agree. I forgot about this drama until I seen some comments on this video and I'm really glad Wolfey did not let it overshadow his video. Espically that a lot people attacked that player's skill even though he was able to get to the finals and having been someone who watched the match having no idea who the guy was, I thought the same as wolf. He looked so tilted espically in the second battle, and if you look at turn one of round three when Orgepon goes down he just kinda gives up. When I watched it, it looked like he was strong with Orgepon but as soon as Wolf knocked it out the pressure seemed to get to him. Saying he is a bad player isnt true, although I do disapprove of trying to pass tilt and misplays off as intentional.
      The other stuff is obviously not great but people being able to learn and grow is more important than punishing them forever. I think almost everyone is guilty of making conclusions or opinions based on bias experiences or lack of knowledge.
