The "root" of the puntarelle is typically used in a dish called Puntarelle alla romana. The puntarelle are cut, put in an ice bath for an hour to get rid of a lot of the bitterness and to curl them. Ben’s tip about using leaves to make an herb oil is a good one, but has to come with a caveat. If you’re adding garlic, either use it quickly or add in an acid. So what I'm seeing is that almost 80% of what Barry did, wasn't "it" in this episode. And he was oh so confident. It's the new cloud egg lol edit : Also,.... I'd love to see a video where James came back and watched this video with the crew seeing each side for the first time. Would be hilarious.
The sesame tuna steaks were gorgeous and would have a nice crunch too. The banana fritters were spot on. Both did fine with the green stuff, and that herb oil took it over the top - yum.
I think this is the first time, I instantly had an idea and the boys actually did it. I instantly thought I would a battered nugget type thing with the banana blossom.
Chicoree Salad can be excellent if you have the right sauce for it. Cook 3 eggs, seperate the egg yolk, chop the eggwhite down and toss it into the salad. Then crush the yokes with salt, pepper, mustard and honey, add a bit of vinegar for it to properly dissolve, then slowly add oil to emulsify the mixture into a thick creamy sauce. Goes very well with the bitter Chicoree.
Barry absolutely sabotaged poor Jamie. They had a promising Japanese-inspired theme to start with, and then Barry inexplicably decided to make "egg fried rice" and then a mayo-tahini-chili oil abomonation. If it were just Jamie vs. Ben, I think I might've personally preferred Jamie's dish, at least in theory.
this episode just showd how much Jaime has progressed. He actually had chef-like thinking in planning out how to brst use the rhubarb and tuna and how everything should go together. He was mostly calm and in control. Baz on the other hand went crazy and didn't care about dish composition. he just went with ehat he thought might work without consulting his partner. next time, this should be a 3-way mystery box challenge: Jaime vs Baz vs Ben
This video, and when Barry made a burger for himself when he tested that weird burger gadget are proof he is a single child. Man child. Keep up the chaos, Baz 🤣

I take something 90% of the way to perfection, but then think "this is going well, I must be a real chef, let's do some JAZZ!" and add too many elements at the end.
Barry with the “fried rice outta nowhere!!”
I do like seeing Ben being Challenged by things like this. It's very fun to watch him pushed to his limits!
So what I'm seeing is that almost 80% of what Barry did, wasn't "it" in this episode. And he was oh so confident. It's the new cloud egg lol
edit : Also,....
That hug between Barry and Jamie was so wholesome 🤗
The moment they shared that sweet hug...I knew it was destined to go straight to shit. 🤣
I think this is the first time, I instantly had an idea and the boys actually did it.
I instantly thought I would a battered nugget type thing with the banana blossom.
Haha brilliant. Great minds and all that!
Hearts of palm could be a good ingredient for a mystery box, I normal use them to make vegan calamari and crab/tuna for sandwiches
5:45 "Remember, cuddles and bum-slaps" - Mike
“You used all the crockery then.” LMAO THE SHADE 🔥
I love puntarelle! Little bit of lemon, anchovy, maybe some creamy mild cheese. Delicious.
Could you lads do a northern versus southern African challenge? I’ve never seen you explore southern African dishes
“I’m a sideman…. Just without the views or the money” 🤣🤣🤣 best quote ever!! 😂😂😂
People like Baz are exactly why I don't share a kitchen home cooking
I'd love to see what you boys would do with some of the traditional ingredients of Newfoundland 😁.
this episode just showd how much Jaime has progressed.
First!
Barry's fried rice looked really good. Ebber's had a slightly better grasp on the ingredients, but the normals did a good job.
I love the delay between Barry's "oohh" and Jamie and Ben putting on their glasses :D
That Sesame Crust looks so cool though. So artsy 👏🏽
Jamie needs a "Didn't strangle Baz" badge
I'd like to see Ben's reaction to all the stuff Barry pulled
This video, and when Barry made a burger for himself when he tested that weird burger gadget are proof he is a single child. Man child. Keep up the chaos, Baz 🤣
