I bought two large Waypoints that had chewed up jimping out of the box - over $600 for the pair. Quiet Carry's customer support tried telling me this was normal for Magnacut and that if I wanted to send them back they'd charge me a restocking fee. After considerable back and forth they relented and refunded me everything except the shipping (something which should have also been refunded given the quality control on the two examples I got) but the whole thing was just bad. Customer service matters to me and, personally, I'll never touch another one of their products. Your mileage may vary, lots of people love their stuff, I just can't get behind them.
Yeah that doesn't sound like a great experience, I had one issue with my first ever one that I resolved myself
That just goes to show customer service done poorly can cost. This fine Fellas word of mouth will flow thru the world discouraging sales forever more. As would the opposite if they would have done good duty. Cheers
@@Tatterdsoul Yeah - this is one of those really unfortunate situations for me as a customer because I absolutely love the material choices and designs but the quality control and customer support on this most recent purchase left an awful lot to be desired. I threw the pictures up in one of my Facebook EDC groups to sanity check myself/make sure my expectations weren't unreasonable and the group seemed to think I was right to not accept them with the occasional dissenting opinion that said I should accept them as they came to me.
Yeah, I had a bad experience with their customer service back in 2019. Turned me off the brand.
They seem to dislike customer service in general, answering questions, etc. Nice products, but.... you can tell they don't really care about the general buyer.
I always enjoy your lists!
I agree on the Civivi Elementum Button Lock. I keep buying knives because I have a problem. Probably 50+ knives ranging from $20 to $250 range. So a lot to choose from, but I keep coming back to the Civivi Button lock. It has so many things right and very little wrong. Plus I have bigger hands and find the standard Elementum barely big enough for 5 fingers, but feel like I am squished. I also upgraded to their black titanium pocket clip for $12 off amazon and it just makes it that much better. The double locking and gravity action are so unique. Plus visually it is such an all around looking knife. Not too flashy, but also not basic. It won't scare anyone, despite its size.
Dude...huge props for all the links you provide in the info box ! 👍👍
A true artist makes something difficult to make look simple. This knife is truly amazing, I gets a million times better in person. I don’t know what these go for but I’m slowly saving up for my “lifetime” knife, it’s hard for me to use liner locks and frame locks are even harder for me to use, I use axis style locks or button style locks due to some troubles I have with dexterity. As of right now the ad20 is in the lead but something like this has me thinking maybe I could do a frame lock for the right knife, the new hogue titanium crossbar lock is a knife that tempts me to settle on something not as special as something like this but I kinda want something more significant.
A modern that locks shut? Awesome.
Been carrying my drop bear since July '23, great little knifeb
Seriously considering selling my large drift to get the large waypoint.
The waypoint looks very similar to the Emerson A-100. Love the style. I wish my Emerson opened like these newer knives with the ball bearings.
Excellent video... thanks for taking the time. I rarely leave a comment like this.
Ive heard of the kershaw launches coming off the spring.
You can never go wrong with a Victorinox Huntsman. I also own US made Kershaws, Bucks and Case lockblade knives as well as Chinese made Civivis & Rough Ryders, however I will always recommend a Swiss Army knife for EDC
It would be great of they made a button lock thumb stud version of that Kershaw auto.
You would love the civivi conspirator, great button lock
Uhhh, my grandma went wrong with all five of these knives. It’s why she has a hook hand now.
When you were showing the Kershaw launch 19 I really thought it was a Smith & Wesson auto. They look so similar withy the tan on the bottom with the black bolster area.
The waypoint having washers is a selling point in my opinion.
Washers > bearings
Kershaw is really stepping things up! Love the video brother.
I really dont get the "Made in USA" value. A knife is good or not. European viewer here owning a WE knife, Civivi, Sencut, Spyderco, Benchmade and a few Bokers.
it matters to the usa people because they are supporting buis in there own country, so there economy does better from it
@@NeevesKnives dam straight
It has to do with supporting US businesses and the US economy.
The product being made in the USA is just a bonus. Think of participating in your country's economy as "investing" in it.
You have a stake in it, and by contributing to your economy, it bolsters and invigorates businesses to further invest their resources into building at home.
Far too many companies have shifted to overseas production mainly because of how expensive it is to manufacture in the US, which I completely understand since the value of the deal is king at the end of the day.
It's also a form of national pride. It is for me at least. Things like US-made knives may be expensive, but I want to support a Made in USA company as much as I can, especially when it comes to knives.
Ok thanks for clearing that up
@@NeevesKniveshow much of the knives are made in USA? Maybe assembled, maybe machined
I did not know theres a large biblio, cheers for the tip 👍🏼
All bangers
Please take a look at the new Icon knife from Harbor Freight
Love that your a fan of the first button lock Elementum. Which as far as I remember was the first button lock ever. Could be wrong. But that knife is just so good. And the fact that it locks closed. And that great 14c hollow. Plus what you're mentioning here it's bigger than the other Elementums. I just have a soft spot for that guy. Spends time in my pocket every month. And has the award for longest time straight in my pocket. Over a couple decades now. I think it was my primary for over two years. Which is nuts. Anyway good video as always. And man Zim jealous of that flat Elementum button in 20cv. Very cool.
Thank you soontobemillionares 👊
In my very limited experience with cross bar locks, "just changing out the springs" is way easier said than done. Interesting content, thanks!
on these they are extremely easy you dont have to take the knife apart you can easily get to each side by removing just the scale
I dropped some money on a Kershaw once. The knives, as far as I can tell, are high quality. But if you do run into an issue, I personally found their customer service lacking in comparison to Gerber. Gerber has fully replaced one of my knives and one of my multi tools. No proof of purchase required. Only question they asked was "how the heck did you do that?"
The original Elementum button lock is superior to any other button lock I’ve tried from Civivi. Period. I’ve purchased 3 other Civivi’s with button locks and every one of them sucked. They all had bad lock stick.
Where can I find those thumb studs for the Sebenza?
Really have been loving the launch series, the whole lineup hits hard for the pricing of US made baby 🇺🇲
Cjrb Prado looks alot like the Jutland as far as blade shape..interesting..
They need to give the escort the same premium treatments as the drop bear!! Carbon fiber and different steels and such ya dig
I picked the escort over the drop bear because of the blade shape, so I agree.
Totally dig brotha!!
Take a drink ever time Neeves flips a knifffeee. ...🤪🥴
how would you rate the sharpening choil on the original sized waypoint?
Not the best
Dope list brotha! Awesome video 🫡
I have a hard time watching videos where they can't stop flipping their knives open and closed. It only takes a couple times to show ease of deployment.
Womp womp
Exactly
Life must be hard for you. Your inner resilience is amazing
When I read it I thought “wow that’s kinda dumb” and now that I’m watching the video I never realized I disliked it! I see what you’re saying
BangGang!
On Quiet Carry’s website they list the Waypoint LC’s blade thickness as .012 inches. You said the blade is really thin. But, did someone misplace the decimal point?😢
Not having a spiderco on here is criminal.
Some don't like a big hole in their blade.
A lot of them are overpriced by $50
Ngl I cant remember the last time I've seen a spyderco on this channel
Spyderco is trash
@@brent1993retard alert. who else sells rex45 besides kizer that has theirs heat treated 5-6 points low? lc200n? cruwear on literally every model? s90v for $160? magnacut heat treated well with a ball bearing lock for $170?
I always like the Viddys that showcase knives I have. I call it “Neeves Validation”. O.K. Not really. Just felt like being a smarmy suck up. But I do like the Viddy. I just don’t call it anything in particular. How about really good. Thanks
U ever dabble in SLD magic sanmai steel? Looks sick af
yeah i have a few knives in it
@@NeevesKnives sweet. I just ordered the north mountain chop 2 with that steel. Copper frag handles. Can't wait 💯
Kershaw should have recessed the pocket clip
Thought I was having a seizure at @3:06 😆
Yeah cam died
What’s this unit at ~6:55? 😮
Hey Jerad and Kara, I got a video idea. Comparing scale materials. Like, Micarta vs Titanium vs Aluminum vs Carbon Fiber
Thanks for the idea!
thanks for sharing brotha jared , great lists as always , you keep em coming , i love em all , i cannot afford any of them lol, lol, your knowledge is off the charts my brotha , i learn each vid n its the BEST part , thanks > tom !
The Civivi Qubit is just a little nicer and way slicier than the elementum.
its slicier as far as the blade stock thickness, but the elementum is very thin bte, a littel thicker but not to much. the hollow grind will also keep the geometry bte better than a flat however they did an incredible job on the qubit and the elem
I have come to love Vanax. stainless, it really is.
Small waypoint over the large
yes by far
300k soon bro! 🤘
Let's goo
Thanks bro bro
👍🍻
When u flicked it the edit made it disappear lol
What happened at 3:05
I thought I was tripping 😂 like it flew out of his hand by accident while flipping
Camera died
Not saying the prices is so frustrating lol
I link everything in description
@@NeevesKnives just say it in the video lol
@@NeevesKnives I don’t want to have to stop the video just to check the price everytime you bring up a new one. You’re saying literally everything else about the knife why not mention price and value too?
😮😂😊😊
Does it really require flipping them out 4000 times in the videos? Its hard to even look at the knives or put up with the amounts of jacking these things off you do.
To many people it helps them understand the knife better, the function of the knife is important to many but sorry if it was a bit much I will try to work on that
It would be nice if you gave the the name of the knives so we could understand?
The problem with the sebenza is it so expensive that, not all but most people won't use it for it's intended purpose, so it becomes a fidget knife but then they have a thing in their warranty saying they don't cover Lock Bar damage from it being flicked open. It's like they don't even want their knives to be used. Which I have expensive knives I use minimally I usually carry them as fidget knives to show them off to my knife buddies, but it seems they don't even want you doing that, That is why even though I think the sebenza is gorgeous I won't buy one Not to mention most sebenza owners seem to be snobs 😅😅
You gotta find better knife friends. All of my friends who own a sebby use them hard. I’ve had a few over the decades and they are excellent tools, but their ergos just don’t work well with my hands so they never stick around for more than a year or two.
A great alternative is a Spartan Harsey.
@just9911 I really like the Spartan Harsey, I am currently looking at getting my first Herman but there are a couple other less expensive knives I want to grab first, like the hyper active by WE
Bro. A 3.2" knife isn't "XL". And I really like GM, but I lost a little respect for them for billing that knife as "XL". It better be over 3.5" if you're gonna call it "XL".
Give it a month spring will fail Kershaw is terrible
still going strong, and all my others that are years old are just fine as well, my Leek spring broke after years of abuse but i prefer it without the spring assist. any springs have potential to break, however if you keep them dry and oiled they usually last a very long time rust is usually the thing that breaks them
Which brings me to my next point kids...dont smoke crack! 😆
