Thank you for this! 0:40 when you receive a present, compliment or you're a service provider, you say it to your client = "do1 je6" 1:30 when you receive a favor (carries your bag, opens the door, gives directions) or please/excuse me =" m4 gio1" 3:54 Exercise in use
This is one of the most slept on/under the radar language channels on RUclips. I wish I knew about this years ago when I first started out studying. You're a fantastic teacher. Really enjoying the lessons so far!
@@Freshmarketers it's an expression to mean "not yet widely known". I feel like when you go looking online for Cantonese resources, not a lot comes up. I just came across this channel by chance. But I def wish it was more visible because I think so many people are starved for these kind of resources
These videos are very well done. I’m Canadian born Chinese and I’ve struggled to learn Cantonese. I went to Chinese school, took a class at a local university and I am currently paying for an online private tutor. The way this teacher explains things and relates it to things that are memorable is extremely helpful! I subscribed! Will like every video I watch.
This concept is kinda funny to me. As someone who knows some Cantonese, I know when to say it but I couldn’t explain it to you what situation is appropriate. This actually is interesting to hear it explained. Somehow hearing it explained makes me more confused and understanding at the same time
Your channel will help me to learn cantonese same as my daughter. Thank you so much its a big big help for me and my daughter... Thanks God i found your channel.
The illustrations are just silly enough to make the words stay with me. You have a natural teaching ability and a pleasant voice that makes imitating the tones much easier. Do1 Je6! :)
Hi, I have just subscribed to your channel and watched the first two lessons. Thank you for making learning enjoyable. I have struggled to learn Cantonese for a few years, hopefully now I can try to get it into my head much better.
@@5minutecantonese yeah sure,, I will be watching all your videos,, I'm currently working at Repulse bay Hongkong, And I'm so much motivated to learn Cantonese language,,,
I'm trying to be learning Cantonese but still cannot speak well, now I found your RUclips channel and subscribed, the way you teach is easy to understand
Thank you so much, this has really helped clarify the uses of the two 'thank you' options. Just a quick question, it says 'client' as a situation when we say 'do je' but as a customer if they give me change from payment which 'thank you' do I say? It's not a favour and although it's not a present, they are actually giving me something so do I say 'do je'?
Can you do a video on "Have you eaten yet?" and what kinds of responses you can give. Is your response different when responding to a neighbor, friend or your parents?
Hi , i want to study once a week .. can you suggest where i will enroll. thank you. Your so good to teach .. can really learn fast. understand well. Thank you so much for this.
Hi! Thank you very much for supporting my channel. Currently I didn't organize any online class. I have patreon account which has worksheets and exercises for each lesson. if I organize classes later. I will definitely keep you guys informed. 🙏🏻🙏🏻☺️

Thank you for your question. Literally, jau5 means to have, sam1 means heart. Jau5 sam1 means "you are very thoughtful". We use it when the other party is showing their care and support to you. It carries the meaning of thank you but we cannot use this to replace m4 goi1 or do1 je6.

In this case. It's "do1 ze6"🥰
I pick Cantonese over mandarin to learn as Vietnamese because I see Cantonese sound kinda like Vietnamese =)
Thanks i can speak to my cousins
Great! I am so glad to hear that.

I have a question what is the simplified and traditional of 唒?
In my understanding, 唒 doesn't have simplified version. 😊
Do1 je5 sounds like 'To je?
It sounds like door without the r sound
Do1 je6 saai3
When you said present, you need to put more emphasis on the letter r, preh-sant
Thank you for your message. I will beware of that
