Hi, I am Amanda from Hong Kong. I enjoyed language learning. I speak Cantonese, English, mandarin, Italian and German.
I guess whenever you tell the Cantonese speakers that you want to learn Cantonese. They will appreciate a lot, but the next minute they will tell you it's very difficult, almost like a mission impossible. So at the end you try to memorize few expressions by heart or simply give up.
I love to share how I learn language and try to use my own way to teach you. I hope So that you can surprise your cantonese friends.

Actually 買 (to buy) is not maan3, should be maai5. There are no maan3 or maai3. If you don’t familiar with the six tones of Cantonese, you can use 三九四零五二 or 七點半嚟我度 or 歡喜到流眼淚 or 一碗細牛腩麵. Both of them display six tones in order.

@@5minutecantonese I was just wondering, since you mentioned that 幾 is used for quantifiable things, how would I quantify my 廣東話. Like, I speak about 10kg, 5km, or 7 pieces of 廣東話啦
`Do you have (jau5mou5) chocolate` is straightforward, but how do you say `Did you have chocolate?`. Jau5mou5jau5?
You mean in the sense of did you eat chocolate? If so, nei5 jau5 mou5 sik6 🍫
@@5minutecantonese No, I actually mean in the sense of using `jau mou` to emphasize the meaning of the verb into the past, but on top of that to actually use the verb of having something while keeping the past form of having something. For example, I went to a family reunion last week and someone is asking me today about it, e.g. if I remembered to bring the chocolate for the kids and they're asking me in English like this: `Did you have chocolate with you to give the children?` (at that time in the past when there was the family reunion.). I hope it makes more sense. :)

To be precise, choice question. If I appear in a yes or no question. e.g. Do you eat apples or oranges? In this case, we would use waak6 ze2

@@dianayeung7096 That one is pretty advanced. Basically for the choice type question. We only use ding6. But particularly for the example there. It's literally a yes or no question. Do you have A or B? answer. Yes, I have A/B/both. or No. Just it's given a choice at the same time. The actual focus is if you "HAVE" that.
