In the mid 80s I broke a bottle of Polo Green in my parents bathroom, I swear I can still smell it when I visit

LMAO!!! Yes, Polo "Green" was very strong and very potent back in the 1980's! Back when I was in junior high in the 1980's, we had a similar thing happen! A guy had a splash on bottle of Polo that leaked in his gym locker and it had the whole locker room smelling like a Macy's fragrance counter! No matter how funky we were, that Polo Green was all we smelled! In fact, coach thanked that kid!
I broke a bottle of my grandpa's Polo Green 20 years ago. He was so pissed. The smell lasted for months.

Holy built-in-sprayers Batman! ☘️☘️☘️ I love Tsar. I remember it being widely available at discounters when I was just starting out, but waited years to pull the trigger. A month or two after I did it suddenly disappeared. Now it's hella $$$

@@justaddlight to be honest that photo is used all over it’s like an old stock photo so I’d imagine it’s just the photo and you’d receive the current version, but i could be totally wrong, I came across my gift sets for cheap from a perfume seller I found on Walmart.com and ended up going right over to their website and calling and found out by asking that it was the old version they had. So essentially if you can verify it then absolutely buy lol
I’m surprised Devin by Aramis didn’t make your list. From initial spray through dry down into the deepest base notes, the scent evokes a British Isles countryside. Devin is my go-to for relaxing sunny weekends.
I'd watched a few of your videos before now but was really impressed when you appeared on Mr. Smelly's channel recently. I like your take on vintage scents so I decided to subscribe. Not disappointed. This and other videos are excellent and loaded with useful information, and I like your level-headed and respectful approach to people and fragrance. Great work! Looking forward to your other videos. Edit: I'm working on enhancing my experience with green fragrances. More than a few of the inexpensive, vintage fragrances are as good or better than some current niche scents. However, I recently sampled a very impressive, most worthy green/greenish niche fragrance by Tauer Perfumes: L'Air des Alpes Suisses.
I LOVE Kritza. I lot of folks don't. So I wear it around the house. lol

In the late 80’s
I’m a woman and I own a bottle of aqua di selva. It caught my eye online and I bought it. It’s a great fresh scent but it’s really meant for men. I’m looking for the right man to give it to. Also try essentric molecules number 1. You will love it. By the way I am IMPRESSED that you have krizia! I used to wear the women’s decades ago

I love and own Tsar, Piano Silvestre, Acqua di Selva (my father used it when I was a kid) and Duc De Vervins L'Extreme.
I would also add Grey Flannel and Green Irish Tweed.

Green Frags are my absolute favourite - I had the luxury of being in high school and college in the 80's so I had all these classics. GREAT LIST ! - I would add CREED Green Irish Tweed (too expensive so I would recommend its much cheaper cousin great clone ARMAF - Tres Nuit ). If you love Polo Green the BEST Green frag today that is similar vibe (not a clone though ) is FLORIS - ELITE. it can be had for less than 80$ but is a modern day, high quality, frag that had that GREEN OLD SCHOOL Vibe done in a more modern way.......unbelievable amount of compliments I get with this in the FALL.

Tsar was a favourite of mine when I was first married in "92. Would love to try it again.

I can't believe One Man Show didn't make this list! Love thgee video though. Also, I wore Ceasers to the casino the other week and got a tonne of compliments. It just suits that environment so well.
Krizia Uomo made the list which is one man shows higher end cousin like I mentioned, had to include that one lol. Caesars is one of my all time favorites, perfect to wear at a casino too
Great list mate. I got lucky with the Lacoste , as you know it’s skyrocketed in price recently on eBay etc. I was luck to fine an older formulation almost full 100 ml tester at my local specialty store for $50 .
Many people have told me it’s expensive on eBay and I still see the seller I got my two bottles from selling for 24$ for 1.7 ...my aftershave was 35$ 3.4oz too. Thank you for watching and commenting bro!
Great list I find Brut to be very green too, and I also picked up Tabac Edc based on your recommendation and man you did not disappoint this stuff smells amazing

Amazing! My green scent of choice is Guerlain Home l eau Boisee and I'm new to vetiver.
I have not tried that before, how is it ?
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey like a more accessible Guerlain vetiver with citrus top notes. Was surprised my friends kept smelling me at a summer party last year. Great juice, versatile!
Hell yes, Tsar is awesome, i got the aftershave and 2 bottles. i wear it when i dress up for work. Try Givenchy Xeryus, not the red flanker, but the original, another strong green scent.

I used the cerutti 1881 in the 90s and loved it very much, I tried to go back to it a few years ago and got off of it. I think I'll try to get the seasers Palace. Tnx 🙏🙏
Caesars Man is one of my favorite fragrances of all time, has to be the older formula. Keep me posted if you get it

Thanks Richie, I love Wall Street, I got two small bottles, top notes are sorta of spoiled but the the leather dry down is great, definitely worth getting a bottle of Acqua Di selva, it’s cheap and I love the stuff, I’d be worried if you tracked down a Victor version since it has citrus top notes that they might be sour, but the built in sprayer bottle is the one I always remember being around and the one I purchased on eBay, found it dirt cheap still as well
Always walk away with at least one or two to add to my ever growing list! I have the 1881 and absolutely love it- WHILE IT LASTS! 🤣

Nice set of fragrances. To me, best green masculine perfume is Quorum by Puig (especially pre reformulation version)

Dude! I miss Polo Green Vintage so much. It’s the only fragrance I can say I absolutely loved. I have the current version and I barely wear it. It’s a shadow of its former self.

I love the current polo formulation but the I must say the vintage is something else, I’m happy I am able to wear it. I have never tried Boucheron pour Homme but I love cerutti 1881 it’s definitely worth trying given the price

I didn’t own that at the time of the video, but I had a cousin who had it when I was a kid, always loved it. If you look up my versace blue jeans review I talk about green jeans. It’s a great scent

Great list. I still haven't tried Acqua di Selva yet but it sounds amazing, gotta hunt a vintage one as I heard the newest batches are super weak and are more like scented water lol.

1 was Vetiver by Guerlain,,, and the other was Habit Rouge ,,,,, very different from each other ,,,,, I’m still wearing both and wonder what you think of Vetiver as a green scent,?

I'm really surprised that you didn't include in this top 10 of yours and Paco Rabanne Pour Home a classic in life appreciated and currently by a lot of men, a perfume that appeared in 1973 very fresh and a very sharp pine explosion in opening, Caron Pour Un Homme another perfume masterpiece appeared in 1934. The perfume, unchanged since 1934, remains this inimitable accord of the most beautiful lavender in the Provence Alps, mixed with vanilla on a background of amber and precious forests
So in the very first minute of the video I made a disclaimer as to why I did not include paco Rabanne pour Homme and polo for men, you must have missed that part lol. Thank you for watching and commenting sir

Sadly the vintage bottles are waaaay too expensive for me to comfortably wear it without thinking of the $ I’m spraying away. I always smell my dads old bottle just to remind myself how good it was

Im watching several of your videos, I stopped in one Im really curious about, PS Fine, is this one in the same vein of lalique pour homme? Wich one of those do you consider best indicated for formal occasions? I highly recommend all your videos, a great ,authentic and honest approach on fragrances, I like the fact that you really share your personal opinion and try to answer everybody. Great job
I have PS fine. I haven't smelled the Lalique one. I won't say it's very formal. It's playful because of a sparkly top, a huge dose of tropical ylang ylang and cinnamon/clove sort of spice. The ylang ylang makes me wanna wear it at summer nights and the spices in fall.
In short, it's bright, sparkly, juicy, tropical, semi formal.

Tsar is worth all the money. But there are cheaper frags that come really close to it. Pasha EDT, Safari and Jazz. I think Quorum and Tsar are 2 masterpieces.

Exactly! I too have been saying this for years now. It's either blue/oceanic or uber masculine with woods and spices. And I have been craving green scents this monsoon.
I prefer Armani Code for winter, Vercase Pour Homme for sunny days, Encre Noir Sport for summer nights and The One as signature scent. Although The one and Armani Code aren't as good as they used to be. The EDP versions apparently are, but I can't find them anywhere.

For me, the best winter time frags are Polo Green and GREY FLANNEL! Not sure is GF is considered a green scent however.
I love polo green, I mentioned how I just reviewed it so I didn’t want to include it in this list but it’s one of the greatest ever

@@JesusChrist5000GF is best on a rainy day or over cast ...I use old spice original scent bodywash or Doves lavender bodywash with Grey Flannel it surprisingly garners compliments ..There is one by Hermes that is a comparative to GF but I won't blind buy because a comment mentioned it being femm floral ..

Sir, you definitely should try www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Loewe/Esencia-pour-Homme-6291.html . It suits perfectly with your taste in perfumary. Its aromatic, green, fresh. Was created in 1988. The one that is written Essencia above and Loewe bellow is the best formula. Still avaible in the markets. Cheers.

Lauder is floral an mossy I use recharge dial bodywash with it ...I wore Versace L'Homme today it's very challenging notes all over the place ..Lauder is what Gordan Geckos limo smells like
Floral grassy moss that’s what I get too, definitely something gecko would wear lol
Yeah, it's very evocative of something. Dewy wilderness with flowers blooming all around. Nice sparkly top. And the flowers smell quite real, unlike perfumes of today. The moss is comforting but makes me lazy.

I did a blind buy on that one (Patrick of Fragrance of Ireland) but I was disappointed. It's like a fragrance based entirely on Paco Rabanne Pour Homme opening... Not my thing.
I just received a bottle of Basile Uomo in the mail today. Holy cow, is it good! I'm planning to snatch every bottle I can get my hands on, as it's discontinued. Do yourself a favor and try it out. I got a 1.7 oz. bottle for $24.

@@ScentsOfSouthJersey Gabaperfumes on eBay. Several other people are selling it as well. Roger & Gallet L'homme has been my favorite scent for many years. Basile makes it seem linear by comparison. Buy a bottle. If you don't like it. I'll buy it from you. No risk😎

Pino Silvestre (Italy, 1955) is deffo more ballsy than Agua Brava (Spain, 1968) but very similar. Pino stronger, more long lasting, more out in the woods, bark on hands. 🌲
Agua Brava was okay I have it but I like Acqua Di selva and Pino better lol
On your list I have that one in my mind of those I want to try (.1 Acqua Di selva) and number .8 DV. I'm definitely going to get me some Antaeus (1981) Tsar sounds good too if I can find it.

I'm surprised Giorgio for Men by Giorgio of Beverly Hills along with Aramis and flankers like Devin, New West and 900 didn't make the list.
Never tried new west or 900 but Giorgio, Aramis and Devin are not green scents at all lol in my opinion at least lol

I loved Polo in the 1980's but it wasn't close to my favorite. It just felt right with some great clothes on, wearing my Ferragamo shoes, and walking around upstate NY by Kiamesha Lake in the Catskills for those Concord Hotel singles weekends!

Aramis Devin and New West have Pine Tree as a middle note and New West has sea notes as a top note. Aramis and all the flankers were loaded with oakmoss and patchouli. Remember - I REEKED of the stuff in college!

BUT... The Grey Flannel... I used to buy that in the 80s, too... And it was so different back then.
I was really disappointed with it when I ordered a bottle last month. I guess the reformulated, modern product is inferior.
I think I'm going to pick up a bottle of Bowling Green... I hope it's as great as I remember it being.

I had at the time of this video recently made an individual review of polo. Tsar and polo are different. Both masterpieces fragrances
