Nicely done! The fragrance that started my journey was Jovan Musk in 1977....so many compliments in the disco era! Have all these in my collection. I wore Houbigant Musk for quite a while in the 80's, have the clear bottle now, couldn't track down the black one..Kiehl's is excellent as well, a little higher end than these classics.
I used to wear the royal Copenhagen and it was a fantastic scent. Now that my taste have developed I believe I may come back to it. My father was born in 1945 so he usually kept many of the older school colognes in his collection. Like Caswell Massey.

Jovan Musk in its old formulation was the go-to for Disco Stu's in the late 70s/early 80s. I have a vintage bottle of it courtesy of my Grandfather but it teeters between disco lothario and my image of a Mob boss. Musk is primal and animalic at its core meant to attract and convey power as well.
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey it's hard to believe no clone fragrance company has tried to make a EDP clone of Jovan Musk. The best clone fragrance company imo has been Alexandria Fragrances. They could probably make a great performing clone of Jovan Musk. Wish they could somehow make Jovan Musk a great performer. Coty is really missing out on a lot of money not doing this. Make a Jovan Musk Intense EDP, whatever they want to call it so long as it smells the same & is a great performer of the current version.
Usually when a reviewer says something vague like “less expensive” they mean $30-$70, which isn’t cheap for most people. When they say “cheap” it means what you think it means.
My journey started with Coty Musk aftershave and was on my 3rd bottle when they stopped making the aftershave. Could not find an aftershave similar and most other channels, most of those guys liked the flowery smell way too much (if you know what I mean) and recommended stuff that don't exist in stores. Your channel is the best out there, you got excellent taste.
KIEHL's MUSK is the best authentic musk frag on the market. it is the closest musk smelling accord since musk was outlawed. A must try for sure. Also another great one is Bath and Body Works - WHITE MUSK - very smooth and mass appealing - surprisingly one of my most complimented frags. I think its discontinued so you may have to search a bit for it
Cryptogoose I have white musk I got a gift set at marshalls for like 8$ lol it’s like dryer sheet clean I enjoy it, performance is not very good. It’s alcohol like at first but then it comes alive, but Khiels I really want to try ! Thank you for watching and commenting bro!

The men all wore the horn, cross or other Catholic emblems. I wear a cross but in a silver chain. I grew up eating some amazing food, let me tell you. I’m still close with all of my step side, very family oriented. You could say I’m Italian culturally. And it’s not eye talian, it’s ihhh talian😂😂 Just saying 👍😂🇺🇸

Great video. I am a fan of both Jovan Musk and AV Musk. I am going to have to try the Monsieur Musk and the Royal Copenhagen. They sound great. Pinaud Clubman Musk is an inexpensive musk aftershave that I quite like. You might give it a try. I have also heard several good reviews on Kiehl's Original Musk, so I ordered some tonight. I can't wait for it to arrive and have high hopes for it.

The first thing that I thought of when I smelled it off the test strip was The Man Silver from Milton-Lloyd. It doesn't smell the same, but it is very animalic like TMS. Being a Kouros fan, I think you will enjoy Kiehl's.
I love the Musk note great picks, civet and ambrette also gives to fragances a very musky smell, another great musky fragances are White Musk for men by the body shop and Original Musk by Kiehl's. And in my wish list there is the one musky fragrance from the collection Essenze by Ermenegildo Zegna call "Peruvian Ambrette" The collection Essenze has a lot of interesting fragances like persian saffron, florentine iris or madras cardamom but all are a little bit pricey and hard to find i guess some of them are even discontinued.
Jovan musk sure is nice and the "Platinum Musk" flanker is pretty nice too. Also Pino Silvestre "Black Musk" is pretty good - can still get that one (EDT and aftershave). SOTD is Jacques Bogart OMS Emerald Edition - finally, I got it! 😁 Cheers!

Invariably, before someone actually tries a musk fragrance for themselves, one tends to imagine something stinky like body-odor. The word itself-musk-is partly responsible for such thoughts. Descriptors like “animatic” don’t help either. But in reality, as anyone who has smelled it knows, musk tends to be sweet. Indolic fecal-like smells associated with white floral notes like jasmine strike me a more animalic and potentially off putting.

"Animalic", while technically accurate, I suppose, is misleading. Another great classic musk is "Royall Muske" by Royall Lyme Bermuda. I bet you'd love it.

Great channel. The Jovan Musk helped me gain 2 wives. I started using it in 1976 where I met my first serious girlfriend. Today I won't wear it, I'm 60 now and would hate to be sought after again as a serious performer..haha!

I think musk is mostly synthetic now, since the late 70's, The real thing was, well, disgusting, but far superior in every way; as was Civit and Castoreum - it does make me wonder, though, how on earth did decide to put those into perfumes; Ambergris' another one I can't figure out how someone would've though - "yeah, whale egesta, this is just the note I'll looking for to spruce up my new fragrance" 😁

The remaining musk in Jovan Musk is in the dry down now about an hour after applying. And sadly imo the latest formulas has not been a projector at all, nor does it last long. Jovan Musk has sadly become a simple skin scent only. I'm lucky if I even get 2 hours out of Jovan Musk anymore. I can't smell anything after 2 hours. Unless I spry it on my hand and go to smell it on my skin. Wish they would somehow make it into an EDP and a beast mode projector. If they did that they would make big buck$ because A LOT of people still love the scent itself.
I doubt it was a bad batch, that wouldn’t happen with a current aftershave on the shelf, nose blind maybe ? Or it just doesn’t last long on you personally. I have had fragrances that were supposed to be very long lasting from what I heard and they didn’t perform well on me

When you splash it on its a beautiful fragerance but burns off leaving a musky scent that remains for hrs . I keep coming back to smell the musk leftover on my hands or face . Its intoxicating
Best is Monsieur Musk but Dana ruined it. Originally Dana had it right then it seems they contracted manufacturing to different companies. Such a shame.

The coty musk is one of the first fragrances I wore. Nice, “clean” scent that isn’t overpowering
aqua velva musk is definitely a bargain. If they put it in a fancier bottle and packaging and changed the name, they could charge 80 bucks for it.

I believe wild musk is different than the original coty musk, it’s probably a little more fresh / possibly fruit citrusy

Highly doubt it’s fake, it’s way to inexpensive of a fragrance to be worth faking. That’s odd though it lasts such a long time on me

Invariably, before someone actually tries a musk fragrance for themselves, one tends to imagine something stinky like body-odor. The word itself-musk-is partly responsible for such thoughts. Descriptors like “animatic” don’t help either. But in reality, as anyone who has smelled it knows, musk tends to be sweet. Indolic fecal-like smells associated with white floral notes like jasmine strike me a more animalic and potentially off putting.

@@ScentsOfSouthJersey I love the musk note, too. I have every fragrance on your list. I just feel that many get the wrong idea of what a musk fragrance might smell like. "Animalic", while technically accurate, I suppose, is misleading. Another great classic musk is "Royall Muske" by Royall Lyme Bermuda. I bet you'd love it.

Great channel. The Jovan Musk helped me gain 2 wives. I started using it in 1976 where I met my first serious girlfriend. Today I won't wear it, I'm 60 now and would hate to be sought after again as a serious performer..haha!

I think musk is mostly synthetic now, since the late 70's, The real thing was, well, disgusting, but far superior in every way; as was Civit and Castoreum - it does make me wonder, though, how on earth did decide to put those into perfumes; Ambergris' another one I can't figure out how someone would've though - "yeah, whale egesta, this is just the note I'll looking for to spruce up my new fragrance" 😁

The remaining musk in Jovan Musk is in the dry down now about an hour after applying. And sadly imo the latest formulas has not been a projector at all, nor does it last long.
Jovan Musk has sadly become a simple skin scent only. I'm lucky if I even get 2 hours out of Jovan Musk anymore. I can't smell anything after 2 hours. Unless I spry it on my hand and go to smell it on my skin.
Wish they would somehow make it into an EDP and a beast mode projector. If they did that they would make big buck$ because A LOT of people still love the scent itself.

I doubt it was a bad batch, that wouldn’t happen with a current aftershave on the shelf, nose blind maybe ? Or it just doesn’t last long on you personally. I have had fragrances that were supposed to be very long lasting from what I heard and they didn’t perform well on me

When you splash it on its a beautiful fragerance but burns off leaving a musky scent that remains for hrs . I keep coming back to smell the musk leftover on my hands or face . Its intoxicating
Best is Monsieur Musk but Dana ruined it. Originally Dana had it right then it seems they contracted manufacturing to different companies. Such a shame.

Bahtiyar World lord is a copy of Lapidus Pour Homme not kouros, it’s is strong though
