Love this video Kelan! So nice to see a reviewer give their honest opinion on frags. Pretty much every other reviewer out there never says a bad thing about the frags they are reviewing. It makes me seriously question their reviews. Come on, they can't possibly like EVERY frag they try. What a breath of fresh air! Well done!!
Who likes every scent you try ? Unless you don’t mind the smell but at least say it’s just “okay” I definitely don’t like everything and sometime i even think I like something at first but then after wearing it I grow to not like it
Jovan Sex appeal is actually my most complimented fragrance ever 😂 The story is this: My bottle was 5 yrs old and I kept it on my car for that long, we have very extreme weather conditions here in Chicago from frozen winters to super hot summers, one day before walking in to the supermarket where I worked I found the bottle and sprayed it a few times then walked in, the cashiers and manager went crazy, even customers were asking what I was wearing, I emptied the bottle in about 2 months and replaced it with a new fresh one but things were never the same, I guess the secret it to let it go bad in extreme weather conditions so the notes will explode in delicious aromas.
You had a blast with this and I enjoyed watching the usually composed, professional K. This was fun. You’ve also encouraged me to do what I should’ve done last year; get rid of Vermeil. It’s horrible!!! Thanks, K!
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey Hey dude. Thanks for this upload , I really enjoyed. Have you ever smelled Gravity by Coty? Back in the late 90s I was in junior high and bought it as my first ever fragrance. It really brings back wonderful memories
If you hate the current Aramis you would have really hated it when it was an all day beast. It’s a shadow of the Aramis I wore in the mid to late 70s. It lasts about 30 minutes on my skin before totally dissipating now. It’s total trash and I barely spray it any longer.
Just proof that every nose is different ! I do like Aramis and Grey Flannel quite a bit, Sex Appeal isn't bad, but it's not great either. I like the opening of Aqua Quorum, but the dry-down is pretty meh.

What I like about this channel is the fact I look forward to seeing a video at least once a week. I've been subbed to other fragrance review channels and my homepage gets spammed with 1 or 2 videos everyday. Some reviewers have an addiction and it really annoys me. I end up unsubbing eventually.

Gotta disagree on Aramis bro. That shit is the OG. Very first fragrance I ever owned. Got it as a stocking stuffer back in 83 and the ladies loved it. Aramis is the shit!
Your videos are always good and entertaining. You crushed me with the Aramis. That is my favorite but everyone is entitled to an opinion. Also thanks to your page I have discovered some good scents and one of them Acqua Di Parma. Keep the reviews coming.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting! And believe me when I say I wanted to like Aramis lol it has all the makings of a scent I would like, I feel like I was not as harsh with Aramis as I was Dali lol
Black fragrances are tough for me, i wonder what goes into them for them to get that designation, i seem to akways being giving them a hard pass, no matter the brand.
I have very few reviews on fragrantica. One of the few that I have is about Dali and how I feel it smells like Wet Dog. Was so disappointed, especially after it had been recommended by other reviewers.
I love it when a content creator pulls no punches. Sadly, it doesn't happen that often nowadays. Good fun, even though you demolished a couple of fragrances I really like 😂
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey Aramis is the smell there was in the air at every single solitary wedding I was taken to in the 80s and early 90s. So, as a kid, it subconsciously became *the* smell of formal events. When I got into fragrances years later, I sprayed it and went A-ha. So I can never be objective about that one.
Ohhhh you hit me in the Jugular 😮 I love Aramis ! I have 5 bottles! But hey, you are right. It’s very very dry. I rarely wear it only because I can only do so, primarily in the winter. I live in Texas, so we only have about a 1 month winter. But I love this stuff. Reminds me of the past and my parents and grand parents.
Well that’s a reason to always have it, scent memories are very important to this whole thing so I can appreciate that. For me that type of scent is Acqua Di selva one of my dads all time favorites and I happen to love it as well
I can definitely hear what you say about modern day Aramis, but it’s still a great fragrance. Aramis is by far one of men’s fragrance’s pillars! It’s my daily scent. I am going to reach out to you to see if you are interested in trying some vintage Aramis that I own. This will be my new side quest.
I was surprised by Aqua Quorum making this list. Smells just like Polo Sport. I had a tester bottle and my friend asked to have it, he really liked it. I'll take yours off your hands 😀
Bvlgari Aqua Marine is the worst for me 🌊 Amara is my favourite cologne of all time, so I figured Marine would be a brighter ginger/grapefruit version of it. All the reviews said it was the best Aqua flanker. Everything sounded so perfect. It just smells like an “ocean breeze” super-synthetic bath and bodywork’s candle. The first time I bought it I returned it because I thought it was a fake lol.
I was expecting Giorgio Beverly Hills Red For Men to make this list! For me, Versace Blue Jeans sucks. I tried several times to wear it out and learn to like it, but I can't. Smells like laundry detergent to me.
lmao that Salvador Dali at the end caught me completely off guard. Thought it's gonna be at least Zino or Grey Flannel 🤣 (which I love both btw) also Aramis smells so old school even the current batches are 60 years old 😂
Forever more I shall pronounce Faconnable in the southern style as it really made me laugh (even though I am in the UK)...I do have a miniature of it which I don't think I have ever smelt, so you have probably done me a favour there, Kelan! I do like Aqua Quorum, so that's a contentious one, bit the Dali one is really bad, I agree! I got a half full bottle as part of a job lot a little while ago and thought that it looked interesting, until I smelt it and for the first time ever, I literally binned a fragrance! In the trash it went without even a spray, it was so vomit-inducing!
I think aramis is a great classic men scent, so I was suprised you didnt like it. In my opinion its very nice, very wearable fragrance considering that it is from the 70s.
Amusing video. Your question as to whether the Jovan was still around caused me to look, not that I'm interested. A lot of places are selling it. Shipping may cost more than the bottle.
Great video! Yeah, there are a lot of clunkers out there in the men's fragrance market. I have Vermeil, and yes, it sits there till I forget what it smells like, the I spray a few spritzes and yup, its so strong it almost smells like musty syrup. Jovan I always thought was a joke (anything that list itself as "sexy" is trying too hard), so I never bought it. Never bought the clone one but I have the one that smells like Rive Gauche (not bad). As far as "Faconnable" goes, an interesting story, I worked on their NYC "headquarters" in Rockefeller Center, it was the smallest space I've ever seen for an "international" luxury branded company (and this is before "Wework" came up with dirt cheap and affordable tiny shared offices so anyone could have a NYC address on their letterhead). So yes there is a pretentiousness with the popcorn tin and I wanted to like the cologne (it's not horrible) but it doesn't quite pass the finish line. The original Cerruti I love so I will trust you on this one. The Quorum one looks janky (the box and bottle) the OG is fine. Aramis, however, I sort of disagree with you on. To be fair, it's probably a bit out of fashion, but it is in the same vein as Tabac (Tabac being a little less aggressive). Aramis is a cologne for the winter or fall and to be sprayed sparingly (not something to be bathed in like Brut). It is made well and is Iconic (in my opinion) just really (nowadays) not a go to, dumb reach scent. Yes, definitely "old man" scent, ironically, most of the flankers are good. The Dali scent, I agree the design is foppish as all hell, just ridiculous. The smell doesn't bother me as much but it is very dark...Again, thank you for the video, I'm sure this will help people not to blind buy these things online....
Ok, I do like the honest review....but Aramis, honestly, I've never had anything but compliments when I wear it. To each their own but Aramis is a banger of a fragrance for me.
I only had experience with the Aramis. Bought it because everyone said it was a classic. I got a cinnamon with like a wet log, and dry spices vibe. Was a pretty lame dive for me too. And I'm one who really appreciates the classics very much. Thanks for the video Kelan.👍
Aramis had potential overall. I keep classics around like Paco Rabanne Pour Homme, Drakkar Noir, and Azzaro Pour Homme. All great classics I'll always have. Aramis is completely forgettable to me.
Thanks for the reviews. I agree about Aramis. I never cared for it, and it’s not aging well. Something that is even older, that is classic to old-fashioned, is Guerlain’s Habit Rouge. Lastly, just did a test of Poivre Samarcande by Hermes. Remarkable at all stages, and is beautifully crafted. Unfortunately, $340 bucks a pop.
Thanks for the review. I would only disagree with you on the Aramis! You struck out on this one my friend! Aramis is awesome like its maker Bernard chant!
Jovan Sex Appeal was pretty much da shit for most Dudes when I was in high school cause it was cheap & easy to get. My Aunt was involved with Avon ... So I got Avon mens stuff which some were Good. Tried the OG Aramis in the 80's ... I found it too sweet for me back then ... but not like the bubble gum candy sweetness like some of the stuff today ... just old-school sweet. The only one you listed that I liked was Vermile. Yeah its Strong hardcore type of sent ... but it worked with my chemistry. I still wear it when I'm out having cigars at the cigar shops.
I love Quorum, I love Quorum Silver, but yeah, Aqua Quorum was disappointing even without high expectations lol they should have named it Quorum Lavender and made the bottle light purple with a cap of the exact same color because it really is just lavender, lavender, lavender. I don't hate it, but it's the most one-dimensional fragrance I own. Not exactly "scent of the day" material lmao but I had to finish my Quorum trilogy...
so, im also not a big fan of aramis lol....i dont hate it, but im not big on grassy stuff and i mainly get grass from aramis. i def dont like it for myself wear wise, and i have to admit i dont really get the hype. one of the few times where i dont think oakmoss or any other "banned" ingredients in the vintage really do anything to help. the vintage is smoother, you can see a difference but i just dont like smelling like grass. P.s. i draw a big distinction between grass and vetiver, which as far as the latter i usually enjoy. but yeah, just grass in aramis to me. not a fan of the price, but clive christian x to me was an attempt to "fix" aramis. hey man btw i just grabbed a bottle of chypre siam and a bottle of targhee forest (newest fragrance released) from rogue perfumery...you should DEFINETELY check them out, although i feel like you may have mentioned chypre siam in the past. that one is super unique and old school, and the targhee forest is what you imagine bois du portugal will smell like before you get it these days and feel ripped off lol.
:) Love the review. I haven't tried all of these, I own Sex Appeal only because I remember it as a kid and its just funny. I tried Faconnable, saying it smells like bug spray in correct. In fact that might be an insult to bug spray....absolutely the WORST fragrance I have tried.
I've spent this Christmas feeling as rough as dog's toothbrush. This video appeared in my feed and had me laughing out loud. You certainly didn''t hold back. I find it interesting that for the scents I didn't know, the reviews on Fragrantica are either hugely in favour, or hugely split. No real outright hatred of the scents. The big surprise for me was that Grey Flannel wasn't in there. I really expected it to feature high up given your review. For me, I agree with Aramis, but probably the worst scent is Jean-Paul Gaultier Le Male. The smell of it makes my stomach roll over. It's like rotting flowers and BO. Yet people love it. I can't bear to be near someone wearing it. Thanks for the laugh.
Zino is definitely acquired taste, but I have actually bought seven bottles of the stuff. I have chosen to make it my primary where/signature scent. I can definitely see how it be challenging to some to enjoy it. But the rosewood in it really is inoffensive to most of my family members. A lot of my family members suffer from bad allergies and this is the only one that really smells close to a Natural piece of furniture. Yes, I know that doesn’t sound very pleasing or inviting/intriguing. But it’s a fantastic fragrance. That’s very mature and very classical.
@@brasstacksboxing409 Give it a try, Davidoff Zeno is perfect for the autnm, very affordable. Side note, they say that this is Johnny depp Personal favorite fragrance
I loved this video, your intensely felt sentiments were very amusing. I love everything about Dali btw., vive la differance! One of Thierry Wasser's first compositions, his best IMHO, everything else he did was a bit safe, Dali is a lot of things but safe is not one of them. Its one of the most polarising leather fragrances every made, right up there with Bandit, but unlike Bandit the "recoil" is internal, which means that it is aggressive in a cogent way, unlike Bandit which is just a straight up olifactory mugging. I have both and although I love and respect Bandit for its audacity and vigour I adore Dali for its depth and mystery, like an anonymous slap from a warm catcher's mitt, you're not wrong.

I would add Marbert Gentleman to the unholy trinity with Zino and Dali PH xd, Gentleman is a glass of powdery piss with some kind of berries for decoration
This was hilarious 😂 I wish more frag reviewers would do "cr4p on" vids like this. It would show that they're not grifters. -and most are definitely grifters.
You labeled your video wrong. It should have been 'How to not selling anything on my Mercari page' 😅 But seriously, this shit is hilarious, I feel sorry for anyone who got on your bad side in HS - savage!

The smell doesn't bother me as much but it is very dark...Again, thank you for the video, I'm sure this will help people not to blind buy these things online....
Haven't been to your channel in a while (or at least not commented). Good video 😂
Yup.. Aqua Quorum, expected it!
I'm surprised you don't like Aramis though!
Ok, I do like the honest review....but Aramis, honestly, I've never had anything but compliments when I wear it. To each their own but Aramis is a banger of a fragrance for me.
Love Dali and Aramis. And there are far worse out there than Facconable but agree on all the rest.
I only had experience with the Aramis. Bought it because everyone said it was a classic. I got a cinnamon with like a wet log, and dry spices vibe. Was a pretty lame dive for me too. And I'm one who really appreciates the classics very much. Thanks for the video Kelan.👍
I sampled it and liked the barnyard vibe
Aramis had potential overall. I keep classics around like Paco Rabanne Pour Homme, Drakkar Noir, and Azzaro Pour Homme. All great classics I'll always have. Aramis is completely forgettable to me.
The Raffi Diran Bassclef channel is a great advocate for Faconnable by Faconnable… I even got a sample on his recommendation!
I should add that the Habit Rouge is very good.
I just recently got your channel. Enjoy all your classic suggestions. Even the ones to avoid
@@Dna1730 thank you for watching and commenting!
Hello scents of south Jersey could you do a video on the longest lasting/projecting fragrances ?
I would add all the Open flankers and anything "black"
Great video man, had me cracking up 😂 because its all true!
Interisting, every men have their own point of views. I addore some of them. But agree some. Very good review. Other should share too.. Thanks
You aren't a fan of the entire mugler a*men line? Or just the original?
Hello can u make a review of cacharel pour homme ?
I agree on Aramis,it's VERY outdated even for us who are into retro perfumes, but Zino is one of the best ever!
I would put Versace Blue jeans on the list as well! It’s a mess of chemicals that smells horrible, like a bathroom sanitizer.
Cerruti Black is Scentland's ultimate Christmas scent too ...oh man 😂
Lollll shocking
I got one called Reporter,it was just like Salvador Dali le Soleil and Lacrosse, all three are kind of boring to me
You dont like cool water and zeno? But why, they are both fantastic, Davidoff is my favorite brand.
I love Davidoff Goodlife but yeah cool water is boring and Zino I think smells terrible
@@ScentsOfSouthJerseynever was a cool water fan myself either. May have to try the other you mentioned tho..
@@markcoffman494I agree with You 100% on Zeno, which is very Sophisticated while cool water is more rigid.
This was an amazing video😂❤
Facconable? Cmon man! Haha I respect your decision but I love it!
🥺🥺🥺🥺you pissed on aramis🥺🥺🥺 it’s one of my favorite fall fragrances, but yeah i understand what you say cause it’s strong, I actually wouldn’t try an original cause the re formulation is strong enough🙈🙈🙈
11:18 ..funny some older RUclips fragrance influencers have raved on Aramis by Aramis!
Bitch boy 🤣 The Puig quip had me in stitches, but the fat gym teacher reference was a spit take. 😂 Melted gum and piss! 🤣🤣omfg I love these kinds of vids. Haven't seen anything this entertaining in a long time. Thank you Kelan!!
You’re welcome! Glad you enjoyed the video!!
🔥
Your grandmother's handbag... lol! Personally I find the Dali bottle hilarious.🤣👍👏💯
There's something wrong with your nose 😂😜
English Leather Black is so bad it didn’t even make this list
As there was no lapidus or kouros in the list, you are my friend 😅😂
I would add Marbert Gentleman to the unholy trinity with Zino and Dali PH xd, Gentleman is a glass of powdery piss with some kind of berries for decoration
Salvador Dali bad ? Oh c' mon . It' s a great fragrance
This was hilarious 😂
I wish more frag reviewers would do "cr4p on" vids like this. It would show that they're not grifters. -and most are definitely grifters.
"im sure very rare" lmfao. great vid
Dail and mugler!??????????????????????? No way
You labeled your video wrong. It should have been 'How to not selling anything on my Mercari page' 😅 But seriously, this shit is hilarious, I feel sorry for anyone who got on your bad side in HS - savage!
Can't believe Mambo didn't make the list, Kellen
Ha mambo is long gone, and that one got it’s own individual review
Vermeil is my first old school/mature fragrance, people use to hate when I put it on, it was a little off putting but I loved it made me feel mature. I don’t have a taste for it anymore though after trying other fragrances in the same category
