I’m a connoisseur of Antaeus. I’ve been using Antaeus For Men since 1981, when it first came out. I still have the 80s version, but I also have the newer versions of the 2000s. The early versions from the 80s had a silver cap. In the 1990s, the sprayers became black. Both versions smell nearly the same…almost indistinguishable. The only differences are: the vintage 80s version is slightly darker, more animatic. The newer versions of the 2000s are still dark and animalic, but they’re a bit lighter and citrusy. The biggest difference is in the dry-down. After a few hours, the dry-down of the vintage 80s one smells more serious and leathery. The dry-down of the 2000s one leaves a slightly floral, perfumy scent on the skin. Antaeus is a very masculine fragrance; I would say it’s ultra masculine.
Can you believe I never smelled this. One of the only old school classic I haven’t got yet. Haven’t watched the whole video yet because I’m in the middle of cooking but to let you know Rich Mitch says that while the older bottles are better the modern is still pretty good.
Rich Mitch, yes, I’ve heard him say this too, I ended up rehoming my bottle of Antaeus because I wasn’t wearing it. I think for something so expensive I wanted to feel more personally comfortable, and with masc frags I feel more comfortable wearing things that aren’t so formal as this one is. I wanted someone else to enjoy it and I wasn’t finding myself doing so. That’s nothing against this frag or the quality, it’s about how I use fragrances in my life and as a female I felt I had no business wearing this one :-j
I have watched so many reviews on these and other Chanel fragrances for a long time. So one day I bought a bottle of Antaeus a few months ago, blind. I was not disappointed by this fragrance. I love it. It takes me back to the eighties and nightclubbing. Im so impressed with this fragrance i bought another bottle of Antaeus two days ago because it had twenty per cent off. So now i have two bottles ❤
@@johannahhuttenstone I found out if you layer shaghaf oud abyad with Chanel Antaeus you mix oud and resins and incense of the Swiss Arabian fragrance with rose castoreum and soap and powder of chanel
